The crate drought could also be seeming to be contributing to the stabilization as well. Even though the supply of these things is currently (theoretically) infinite right now, it wouldn't be surprising if this is the case, as the crate it's in is practically on its deathbed right now. The only thing keeping the crate it's in alive is Valve not adding new crates in the past few updates, even in The Triad Pack and MvM.
