Yeah sad in my opinion it's better than all the other fedoras but I guess people got sick of it quite soon

Not so much sick of it as just too many. Look at outpost. 20 pages within the last 3 hours alone. And we haven't even hit the next tide of fall crates yet. So many hats swarming in, several are going to become crafting fodder, and the fedora just isn't unique and interesting enough.
