I thought the price was already 2.55~2.66. Gonna make my life more difficult I guess, but true. Upvoted.

Downvoted because you provide no proof in your suggestion, you are not regarding what others will BUY it for, and the fact that you have 35 keys in your backpack basically amounts to you manipulating the price so YOU can profit.

How does that work Poncho? Prices are not set in stone. Just because a site changes the value, thus changing the total value of his backpack in the top right of the screen, that doesn't change squat. He's not manipulating anything you mong, this is a pricing guide. People don't have to follow what the guide says, and suggestions can be rejected and/or closed

There are tons of 5 ref for 2 keys, and most of them don't get picked up on, because if you keep spamming F5 on Outpost, you'll eventually find people paying 2.55 and even 2.66 per key. Why would I settle for less when there's people willing to pay more?

You guys base all prices on outpost. Go to a regular trade server, you will find soon a key seller, selling for 2.5 ref. Bust most people are ignorant here.

The problem is that he is trying to spike the price up on something that has always been in stock, and right now, about 300,000+ of them exist. The demand for spiking the price of keys is absolutely foolish because there are those fools out there that want to get just that one extra scrap off of the key. Soon there will be a demand for a solid 2.66, and then you have idiots that are going to attempt to get 2.77 off of a key... hell, even start trying for 3 refined. It's like the Halloween and Christmas items suddenly getting a spike in price because "Christmas/Halloween will soon be here."

Basically, if that person has about 30 or so items in his backpack and he is trying to manipulate the price WITHOUT ANY PROOF, and he clearly wants to get an extra scrap or so off of each key, there is a clear bias. It's like saying a certain unusual should be priced more and you happen to have that unusual, and not posting links for proof.

            I reiterate: DOWNVOTE

How so? He's not going to sell his keys for 2.5 anyways. I mean, I don't. He's going to get that extra scrap regardless of what this site says.

We should not have to deal with his price just because he says so, and he is just out there to profit.

Yes,i was buying a key and no one sold one for 2.55,had to pay 2.66

They're rising indeed. You've my vote on this one. :)

I've bought a good amount at 2 for 5 refined recently. This suggestion is absurd to me. I downvote.

i buy all my keys for 2.5 or 2.55 in single trades on trade servers. and i never have to resort to buying for 2.66 on op.

                        downvote

I have bought over 500 keys with refined metal and I'm averaging about 2.51 or so, I'd imagine. I have never bought a key at 2.66 and have bought plenty at 2.5. Some for 2.33-2.44 if I'm lucky, but most often 2 for 5, or 2.5.

I will copy & paste my comment from the last price suggestion here:

                          Keys are 2.44-2.66 ref.

If you want a key immediately you pay 2.66.

If you wait for a decent trade you pay 2.55.

If you wait for someone on a trade server you pay 2.5.

If you are lucky you can get 2.44.

Poncho I did not make this price suggestion for profit, I made it because I believe this is the right price. I'm not even selling the keys I am going to do a big uncrating when I have 50 of them. Don't just assume things.

Also, if the price of keys does change to 2.55-2.66 on this website I don't see how it will help me make any profit as keys are already at this price any way.

No, it is not... you only assume that it is 2.55-2.66. Christley has a point.

Verry possible to buy for 2.5 ref,and no proof?

                                Downvoted.

isnt there a rule on this site about making such small price differences or something?

Just like the provided link, I also have people trade me without writing thing on my outpost.

This is another example of people trying to gain rep.. They will probably vote for 2.50-2.66 next week

2 for 5 all day downvote.

I still buy 2 for 5 ref. Down.

I'll vote up cause I've never been able to buy a key for 2.5 or 2 for 5. The cheapest I've been able to find for a single key is 2.55 and even that is really hard to find someone that doesn't sell out in 2 minutes at that price. Lots of people buy and sell at 2.66 everyday. I know I've done it when I needed a key and couldn't be bothered searching an hour or so for a 2.55 one.

It is good key to be 2.5-2.66. Because all buyers at servers try to buy for 2.5. I come and ask to buy for 2.55 and i buy some keys while others stay keep typing. I have to UP vote this , but i am sad. Take care.

The current spread is correct and represents ALL the current averages in the market. This price suggestion appears to be set with opinion and not with facts. DOWNVOTED

Euck, another price change that will go through based on votes which doesn't reflect the market.

I always buy my keys at 2.5, it's not hard on trade servers and I've done it via outpost as well.

                                                Downvote.

2 for 5 ref is still pretty common. I think you need to lurk more trade servers...

                                                    Yeah this seems about right.

yep, got to give this a big downvote. Bought ten keys over the weekend for 2.55. One here, One there.

I bougth like 20 keys at 2.5 last week

                                                        http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/4855918

I used to buys keys at 2.55 but now it take forever to find them. all sellers on outpost has them for 2.66 also

People that sell keys in outpost bought them for 2.50 or 2.55 i know a bunch of traders that buy keys 2.50 \ 2.55 just to resell and get 1 scrap of it.

If the price is boosted to 2.66 resellers will resell for 2.77 and so on

I agree. It's very difficult to find someone willing to sell at 2.55 now, I even tried bulk deals to see if they're willing to drop down from 2.66 to 2.55 each, but still no luck. 2.66 seems like the average price now.

the price is fine where it is, it doesnt need this update :P

Everyone who is championing this price increase has one thing in common... they have 30 or so keys in their backpacks. Go figure.

The problem with making the max value 2.66 is that 2.66 is generally a buyout price. xen is right, you only should pay that much if you want the keys within five minutes. Going on trade servers will net you 2.5-2.55 for prices.

On top of that, the more you raise the key value the higher people's buyout prices will go, just for the extra scrap.

hey guys, its a 1 WEAPON DIFFERENCE. just so you know what you're arguing over. it's still going to be the same price.

I buy and sell keys all the time for 2.55. I've even managed to buy a few at once for 2.44. Keys aren't rising in price.

I buy them regularly 2 for 5 ref. This is a bad suggestion made by someone who stands to gain from it.

trading gets more autistic every day

holy shit guys it's literally one weapon and i don't give a shit if "OH MAN IT ADDS UP DUDE"

                                                                            literally

                                                                            one

                                                                            weapon

                                                                            one

downvote, all I see here is wasted time and rep whoring.

If its 1 wep, and your saying thats not worth complaining over, did you accept it or downvote it then mmm? Plus since this item is used as currency, changing the price is basically inflation, which affects many prices.

For those people that are saying its only a one weapon difference. For most items a 1 weapon difference does not matter but its different for keys because keys are an important currency in tf2 so they need to be priced accurately. Also some people have over 50 keys so in the end it adds up.

ITS NOT EVEN A WEAPON DIFFERENCE IT IS .025 ITS HALF A WEAPON DIFFERENCE DO THE MATH

                                                                                      Its actually a 0.05 difference

I think 2 keys to 5 ref is a nice and even deal that should stay.

Silly suggestion, 2 for 5ref is very possible.

I still haven't paid over 2/5 for keys.. and i only did that once to sweeten a deal for a larger purchase....

                                                                                              http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/5190851

Keys for 2.55, sold out within a day. Definite upvote for me. Everyone whining and bitching about him raising the price by .05 and saying it's for his own benefit is obviously full of crap. If he wanted to sell them for 2.55, he'd get it, and he's not raising the high end of the price. This is a logical change in price. Hell, I don't even know why they were lowered to 2.5-2.66 in the first place. Everyone talking about what kind of deals people have gotten from trade servers are also full of crap, since I can go and buy keys for 2 refined from someone (which many others have done, I'm sure) or even sell for 3+ refined to people who aren't all that into the trading scene.Upvote from me, and hopefully everyone else on this site who's even done the slightest bit of research.
