Feel free to disagree with me, but there's plenty of evidence of people willing to pay 7 ref+ for this and white paint. Puddinghead himself sells black and white for 3 keys each.

Puddinghead also sells Buds for 32 keys :P But yeah, this price seems accurate.

Put a trade up saying you're paying 6 Refined.

On the wishlist flip side, it's tough to find the people offering 6 refined, and impossible to find anyone offering higher. I'd have to try for myself to say for certain, but I'd wager putting up a trade asking to buy for 6 refined would take some time but would get you the paint, while 6.33-6.66 would get it to you rather quickly.

Mainly basing this on back when everyone seemed to be listing their paints for 5.66-6 refined. Those same traders were buying for 4-4.66 ref so my offer easily got me multiples in spite of being impossible to find any listed for sale at that price. I've since been under the impression that higher tier paints require a bit more reading between the lines when it comes to pricing- looking on one side, like reading keys solely on what people are selling at on outpost, will give you a lopsided and inaccurate view.

Though this is talking from old experience. I haven't purchased any black paints recently so things may certainly be different now. I won't be voting in either direction, but figured it'd be worth giving my thoughts.

Same thing happened to me when I was selling mine on outpost at 6.66.

He told me never to sell it under 3 keys. Then he proceeded to buy it off of me at 3 keys.

When I obtained more and tried to resell it for 3, a lot of people were upset with me or offering 2 keys. I did end up selling it for 7.55 ref in the end.

I'm slightly uncertain what to vote on this post. Outpost clearly shows many people selling at 3 keys, however, I'm not too sure how successful they are. I could see those same people with a B/O of 7 ref wanting to get rid of it for some quick metal at 6.66. I think I'm going to have to agree with you on this one.

Current price is fine imo.

I don't usually try to help people find stuff at a good price, but I just happened to be buying black paint last night and checked my saved search.

It's true that a lot of people on Outpost are selling in the price range suggested; the question is: who is buying, and what are they paying?

Edit: forgot to mention, I was buying and paid 6.33 ref.

While there are a number of people selling for less than 6.66, the vast majority sell for around 7 Ref, and it is shown that people are willing to pay that much.

I think my suggested price is fair because it's a more realistic middle-ground, since black/white is still somewhat difficult to sell for 3 keys, and easy to sell for 6.33.

And no one at all sells for 6 ref anymore.

A single guy on r/tf2trade is hardly enough proof. Also note that it sold at lightspeed at that price.
