We just disscussed this 17 hours ago Here http://backpack.tf/profiles/76561198018656587 Range > set price I sell at 2.66 on Normal servers all the time. DownVoted.

I sell for 2.66 all the time it isn't hard

Not easy to sell at 2.66? I just sold three keys for 2.66 in 10 minutes... Sure there's a lot of people buying at 2.55 but you can easily sell them at 2.66 too.

I would say 2.55-2.66, its pretty hard to buy a key for 2.5 these days.

Buyers offer 2.44, sellers ask for 2.66. 2.55 ref is fine imo.

@The Ace of Crates, Gwynn: how much do you pay for keys?

Definetely Up, an important currency such as keys must have a STABLE price.

Buyers ask for 2.44 (Low) 2.55 (Best) and sellers just resell for 2.66 which is dumb.

            Keys shouldn't have a range

I have been selling keys at 2.66 for over a year now. no change in sight.

The price was set to 2.55-2.66 only yesterday and people already want to change it? The lowest you can buy a key for these days is 2.55 and its not hard to sell them for 2.66

Upvote for the same reasons people upvoted the last 6 key pricechanges

I have bought 15 keys for 2.55 since last Saturday Upvote!

For those that sell for 2.66, I would never pay that much and when people ask me to pay them 2.66 instead of 2.55, I just block them for life.

@Mind Bender That's fine, But I can sell keys at 2.66 all day. People are willing to Pay that much it needs to be included in the price

@loppa Your joking right, When i put keys up for trade I never get 2.44 offers. Every Buyer offers 2.55.

@this guy I think you might be confused..

@jack(asian smiley face) Your price is right, this needs to be closed.

You certainly didn't pick an easy item for your second price suggestion then :P

Downvoted for reasons previously mentioned - the range of 2.55 - 2.66 should be there because there are plenty of people who value keys at 2.66 and sell them for that. I've also seen occasional buyers who plainly offer 2.66 instead of 2.55 (on for instance reddit, but am too lazy to look up exact links, sorry).

FYI, if you look at Outpost's trades of people buying stuff (your notes make it sound like you did) they are usually not an accurate image of the market price. Most of those are traders looking for quicksells i.e. traders looking for people who are desperate to sell and will therefore sell things way under their market value, which is why they will offer much less than the item typically sells for.

Easy to sell at 2.66. Dowvote.

@Random852 I'm not confused at all, you appear to be the one who is confused. If people buy keys for 2.33, 2.44, 2.5, 2.55, 2.61 etc then 2.66 isn't a realistic price. The key pricechange bs is out of hand, and everyone is wasting time + whoring rep.

If I see one more price suggestion for a damn key I am gonna lose my mind. Keys are like metal, there are no price suggestions because they are almost always worth the same thing. It's a currency!

If you knuckleheads keep pushing for inflating the price of an item where 5000 of them are added DAILY, on average, the same criticism that got to the spreadsheet will start being applied to this site, unless you fools find a reasonable price for the item and NEVER increase it.

FACT: there is 817,000+ refined in the market as I type this.

FACT: there is 382,000+ keys in the market as I type this.

Neither of these totals will EVER go down, and will only increase by the day. PROVEN FACT.

Don't believe me? look at Stats.tf for that total, and be amazed by how foolish you are being trying to inflate the price.

And don't give me this supply and demand bullshit, because if you are demanding to sell an item at a higher price than someone else, where do you think the customers go, geniuses? The way that economies work is this:

Higher price = less items sold

Lower price = more items sold

Argue with THAT logic. And no, the "your prices" excuse does not apply here.

Translation for the comment? A definite upvote.

2.5 is almost non existent +vote

It should not always get up 2.55 is a good price it should be like this always

@ Eastwood guy, that ramble doesn't make any sense whatsoever to me. If you want to argue about trivial general economic mechanisms: the price of keys will inflate eventually, because metal is easier to acquire than keys therefore metal will lose its value faster, which in turn will make keys worth more metal. Your argument about supply and demand does not make sense in this context either, and it is very very oversimplified. Either way: clearly people are willing to buy keys for both 2.55 and 2.66 refined, so both prices are equally valid which makes the current price/range good.

@Firesword, 'the price should be x' is not a goddamn argument.

Someone just sold me 2 keys for 5 ref, took me about a day to do so. http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/5325790 . 5:2 is still possible.
