a handful of traders does not represent what the majority is. and when you search for white paint a hefty majority are selling for 6 ref and up. downvote.

God, this sale was announced in the last few hours. This "majority" is unaware that white paint is worth significantly less now.

Upvote. And we should expect the price to fall even further, if traders are buying out for 2 keys.

Sellers want 2 keys, but I haven't seen buyers agree to it yet. As others have said, I guess we should wait and see how things turn out. However, it should be noted that a drop price is most certainly due. So....quasi-upvote?

Edit - I retract my statement. The tf2 outpost market has already flooded with sellers requesting 2-3 keys for white paint and no one is even responding to them. This should be1.5 keys at most.

I think it will eventually go down to 1~1.5 keys like all items for sale at the same price of a regular key, specially given how this can be gotten from early crates as well and there were a few of them in the market before. Though, I see no point in pricing this right now since its price will most likely only stabilize tomorrow.

I think you're overestimating how quickly this will drop off. There's the natural sharp decrease as people willing to put money into the store try to use it for cheap keys. But most people will simply hold prices or just close their white paint trades altogether and ride out the sale. I don't see this going for lower than 1.5 keys in the long run, unless Valve decides to keep the change once the sale ends.

Either way, I think it's important to get an early change in. This isn't like a new item where the alternative is simply not having a price. There's a very wrong price right now, and the earlier it's handled the better.

I opened a trade to buy one to see how it'd go, and not long after got an offer of it for 2 keys. I've seen other people buying also get offered for this much, and mostly rejecting this price. Everyone buying for 2 keys is being swarmed with friend requests too, it seems.

Oh, I don't doubt it. Still, the few trades I see on the seller side that dip beneath 2 keys tend to get taken quick. If you want to approach it from the wishlist side, where it's still flooded with donators getting rebumped on their pre-sale 2 key buy trades, I'll be happy to hear your findings.

Note that one of my linked trades that had 8 in stock is now down to 3. It's certainly not as though the 2 key paint trades aren't selling at all.

1.5 keys seems to be (for now) the "buying" price and 2 keys the "selling" price. As in people are offering 1.5 but not necessarily getting one and people are trying to sell for 2 but not necessarily achieving it.

Alright. Grab a few links showing successful 1.5 key paint buys to back that up, grab some of the 2 key selling paint links, and put up a 1.5-2 key suggestion. I'll happily close mine and back you up.
