Suggestion: Strange Grenade Launcher at 4–5 keys

I think we tried lowering the value less than a week ago. It didn't work out too well.

dunno, it's just weird to me if there is 20+ pages on the outpost of people selling it and only a handful of people buying at this price.

also, why did it get so high in the first place? it used to be 3-4 keys and suddenly people want bill's for it oO

The crate costs about a key if you can find it anymore, plus another key to open it, with a 21% chance of getting a Grenade Launcher. It also happens to be the oldest strange weapon in the game, and a demoman primary.

Can you actually buy this item for 4 keys?

well, yeah i second this, most trades open selling at 6 keys are weeks old, and yes there are trades for people that want even a bills for a mint grenade launcher, and yes sometimes people sell for 4.5 keys, but they go out as fast as hot bacon in the morning. so i guess price should be 5 keys pure, cause 4 its a little 2 low

btw, how can you buy it for 4 keys if everyone checks the prices with spreadsheet and this site? if it is 5-6 or more, no one will want to sell it for 4. another thing is that also no one wants to buy for more than 5.

also, @xen: you do have a point, but wasn't all that true as well couple of weeks ago when the price was 3-4 keys?

Getting more than 5 keys is possible, but 6 is extremely hard. I had a trade open for several days and I got a lot of offers for 5 keys flat. I only got lucky and found someone that wasn't aware of the possible re-release of it.

I am very familiar with this item. Up until about late August, or early September, I was able to buy this item with 10 ref and sell it for 4 keys. It was basically an easy way to buy keys by using the item as a pawn.

After about mid-September, I was no longer able to buy this item for 10 ref, or even 4 keys. It hasn't been that price for at least a month now, maybe longer.

I'll state it again: if you suggest a price range of 4-5 keys, you should show the trades happening at 4 keys, and I'm 100% convinced this is not the case.

@Xen: I provided the links in my second post, people have been buying these items at this price for 2 weeks at least. not many, but I think that more then selling for 6 keys.

you also didn't answer my question - why has the price gone up so much if the g. launcher was as 'rare' (I'm using inverted comas cuz I can't really call an item rare if there's 20+ pages of it on the outpost) month ago as it is now? to me, it seems that some guys simply wanted to get more profit out of it and for some reason, other people foolishly went for it.

It's not necessarily rare, just expensive as I stated earlier. And the links you provided show some selling for about 4.5 keys, which I would agree with. What I'm saying is that you'd have a hard time buying the item for 4 keys.

I've sold three or four myself for 6 keys each with absolutely no problem at all. Should have stayed at 6. Obvious downv

Alot of people offers like 4 keys, but all 4 keys offer gets turned down, most people selling at 6 keys or 6 keys 1 ref

Maybe range it from 4.5 to 6 would cover it all.

There are 12 pages of people competing to buy this item, so there is definitely demand for it. There is also the classic Outpost low pricing going on, so as a seller I could probably get one of those buyers to go to 4.5 or 5 keys, if they really wanted the item.

Anyway, what I'm getting at is that as a seller, there's no way I'm going to find your WTB post for 3 keys, be convinced with your language to sell my Grenade Launcher for only 3 keys, when there's enough demand for 4.5 or so.

well I'm not saying that the price should go down to 3 keys, I'm just saying that it's possible to get one at this price too :)

If you can honestly find somewhere to buy a good, representative portion of the existing pill launchers at 4 keys each, then link me a bunch so I can buy them. I am having a pretty tough time getting lower than 4keys2ref.

As Xen demonstrated, 4 keys is not a reliable buying/selling price. It might be possible to go a little lower than 5 keys- the 4 key + 2 ref buyers found a seller- but all the way down to 4 keys? Just doesn't seem possible.
