Suggestion: Orbiting Planets Copper's Hard Top at 14.11–17.46 keys

I find it quite inappropriate for tuna to come into my trade trying to sell this item on tf2outpost and claim that backpack.tf is about to fix the price on this item, as if he is some type of a regulator of prices. When the voting for this item is still on-going and has not been approved.

I’m sorry but all this does is de-rail and directly affect the outcome of the trade, this is not a proper way to influence prices.

I don’t disagree this item might be overpriced at 1.5 buds, but the actions of tuna are inappropriate and hurt sellers of unusual hats.

I left a reply on your listing, I hope I cleared things up. I normally don't contact sellers when I'm researching but I saw you had quoted backpack.tf and I was already submitting a price suggestion and wanted to give you a heads up in case the vote gets accepted and the price changes. Otherwise a user looking at your listing would see "backpack.tf lists this at 1.1-1.5" and check it out here themselves, see a new price if my suggestion were to be accepted, and not know the price had just changed. Then they might say that you were being dishonest or inflating the price, which isn't the case, its just unlucky timing.

I was certainly vague when I first posted and that didn't help, "fix" wasn't a good word and I should have included a caveat about if my suggestion was approved. Not like some unilateral action was being taken. I just happend to be looking for any anomolies for any unusuals, typically where an effect is too high or low compared to others. I know low tier copper hard tops usually cant get much over a bud, this is the second most common effect for it, if steaming/stormy/smoking/peace/o. fire cant get a bud for it, bubbling's price of 1.1-1.4 is several months old, and its above blizz and searing, users on outpost are selling for 23 keys and is only 3 effects away from being high tier then its almost like an error that needs fixed in my mind at that point.

Just a cursory look at its rank and supply, to me made it almost automatic:

I was going through a bunch of other tabs/suggestions i had open so I kind of rushed through my initial post to you so I wasn't very clear and made it sound like a subversion of the typical process. I thought I cleared it up in my 2nd post but maybe you thought i was being insincere when i said to register here and join in.

Again I was really just trying to give you a heads up so nobody would hassle you for your quote, I was already submitting the price suggestion(through the normal process here) and came upon your listing on outpost during my research and my intent was just to give you a heads up that I was submitting a new price that I thought would be accepted. I didn't first see your listing then decide to screw you over or anything. I am sorry I didn't explain myself more clearly in my first post and made it sound like there was some subversion of the typical process here.

Well it's too late, I had a reply to you after but you closed it. It doesn't matter anymore, my trade is screwed at this point.

You have to understand my perspective.

You made a vote on backpack.tf that is currently in process. Yet your comment in this trade says “Backpack.tf is about to fix the listing for this, sorry. Its above a lot of effects it shouldn't be.”

A private offer I had has pulled out thanks to your comment, your speculation about the results of your vote derailed my trade. I got a message from the person quoting your comment and they pulled their offer. It’s inappropriate in my opinion to comment on prices when doing these types of votes and such behavior can be used to destroy buyers confidence and manipulate the end result. Your claim about certain effects doesn’t mean much either, it’s all opinion and preference, keep it to yourself please. I see your history of preference on certain effects vs others on backpack.tf, I don’t know who you are or if you have anything to gain from this or not.

It’s not your job to find every trade and attempt to tell people what the price is, your example of someone claiming a wrong price quote is not your problem. I check backpack.tf frequently and would have adjusted the price if anything or someone would have made a comment after the vote and it would have been fixed.

Also your list of effects is good and all but this particular hat has very few unusuals compared to many other hats overall. It's the 21st least unusual hat out of 178 unusual hats, maybe not the most desired or anything but take that into consideration instead. 257 copper unusuals. Some effects work worse or better for certain hats or classes.

Thats why I said I wanted to hide it right away, to avoid someone seeing that and changing their judgement based on it. I normally don't comment or post on peoples listings on outpost or sourceop when its related to research for price adjustments here for that reason.

I still believe firmly that the current price is off by a wide margin, planets usually doesn't fair well and others sell this hat for around two dozen keys. But i guess, we'll see based on the democratic process whether the suggestion gets the up votes or not.

However, when you do sell this at whatever price or get another c/o, if you send me a screencap or link, etc of the offer that I interfered with I'll gladly give you the difference out of my own backpack. I was truly hoping to avoid interfering in anyway with your trade and figured I'd be hiding the message shortly after I posted it so it wouldn't be a problem.

I appreciate the gesture tuna, but it won't be necessary. Sorry if I over reacted a little but you have to understand that speculation is very powerful and can hurt sellers.

I don't disagree about the high end of 1.5 being a bit high, I think 1 bud is a good price range for this unusual. Pretty much what I had as an offer in various items before around 27-28 keys.

I'd really like to make things right if it did affect the outcome, the offer is always on the table if you change your mind.

I do try to mind the forces of speculation, that's why normally I don't get involved in other peoples trades. I really should have just added you on steam or something and messaged you elsewhere.

Thanks tuna for the offer, but I'm not looking for any hand outs or anything. Just add the person on steam and say you are doing a vote on backpack.tf if the pricing is an issue.
