Also it doesn't matter what everybody is selling them for. Currently most of people are buying keys for 2.44—2.55, so what, should we drop the price?

It doesn't matter what highballers and lowballers say, you need an experience in trading to know what real price is. In my opinion keys should be 2.55—2.77.

All these insane prices..I went yesterday to a trade server 1 minute and saw people selling keys for 2.66 ref. Where the hell does 3 ref come from? Should we base all prices on highballers of outpost?

The price of the key will not go down sadly... As soon as the Halloween event is over, the Christmas event will soon start up. The time period in between isn't long enough to make it go back to normal.

Besides, we all know how greedy sellers on Outpost are. They won't go down.

still, one thing can't be denied: i put up 2 trades, one buying keys at 2,66 and one selling at 3 (and telling people not to buy at 3 ref) and i got 3 keys and sold 4. which means, people too have accepted this increase in prices. still, i think current range is fine. let's wait a little before making new suggestions.

it is true that 2.66 keys have recently been selling quickly, but if we let them get all the way up to three refined there will be nothing to stop the tf2niverse from descending into anarchy.

You get only 1% chance obtaining unusual, Imo even 2.5 ref is overpriced for a key. They give you nothing but shit. I only use them as currency but this is ruining everything.

bought 6 today form 3 separate people, 2.5 each for 4 and 2.55 for 2, I have yet to see anyone even try and sell one for 2.77 (this is in trade servers)...although I have seen an increase in people asking to buy for 2.66 instead of the usual, 2.33 and 5 ref for 2 crew...

No, I will never ever upvote anything that is one of the main currency items used in tf2 trading without proper proof. He says/She says does not cut it. You need links, extensive research. It requires time, not just a 5 minute look around and then suggestion time. NO NO and NO. Give me proof then we'll see.

I dunno, I've been buying keys for 2.66 pretty easily the past 3 days (including today). Trade servers as well as adds from my trade on tf2outpost are producing keys at 2.66. Down vote for now.

People are inflating the value for no reason other than to line their pockets. Prices on currency items need to be fixed to balance rest of market. This is nonsense. People agreeing to this are ruining the tf2 economy

@Chief Boogaloo Shrimp - nice idea, but if you announce your plan like that, then maybe somebody who wants the price to rise can just buy your keys for 3 ref each. If they fail, they only lose a few scrap.

Anyway, if nobody buys the keys, I guess that would prove something.

When Steam trading first came out and keys were available for purchase, they were set at around 2.33. It was 2.33 for quite a while until these past 2 months, where they have gone from 2.33 (original) to nearly 3 refined. The only way for this to actually stop is either have everybody sell keys for less (not likely) or for Valve to lower key pricing (also not likely).
