Dont know why all these stupid people are on this site. Keys went up because of Uncrating. Their value will eventually drop but not yet. I have had no problem selling for 2.77.

User has almost a full page of metal, and no keys. First off, I'm calling conflict of interest on that. Also, the higher prices make sense because of mass unboxing. Downvoted.

You can wish all you want on a cheaper price, but until you can show proof that the majority is selling at this price, you will not win this argument. Look at the real world. People want to have gold at $300 an ounce like it was ten years ago (or however long ago that was), but with how the market economy is of the real world, it's at $1600+ per ounce. At one time it was $2k per ounce. And all that happened rather fast. Price of gold JUMPED fast. Now it's going back down little by little, but is still over $1,000 per ounce.

Maybe keys will get back down to 2.55-2.66, but the market scare of key shortage (just like the scare of global economical failure), the price will stay inflated since keys are the gold standard for TF2 trading. Once the economy stabilizes, we should see the price die down, unless another rush for keys comes around when the winter crates and winter effects come around. If it occurs again while it's at 3 ref, another key rush could push the price of keys to over 4 ref.

2.55?!? I tried selling one of my keys for 2.66 and about 15 people added me.

Show me anyone that is selling for 2.55 or 2.66 and have keys in stock.

Can we just put a ban on price changes for keys for a few days until things settle down?
