I sold one for 23 like 2 days ago, after having it listed for 2 days. Quicksellers do not reflect the item's actual value.
This is usually true. But the premise is not always true (that quicksellers don't reflect an items actual value). Especially, when you have a horde of sellers flocking to these lowball buyers. When this occurs, it tends to suggest that highballing sellers (selling for 1+ bud) are just being stubborn and are holding out until "Christmas is near."
you picked and chose some people who are quickselling there are plenty of people out there who arent doing this. and to say the item is in "freefall" when christmas is coming up is obsured. no need to leave examples...all you have to do is look.
To use Christmas as a counter argument and then say that its enough evidence is obscured. You seem new to [url]backpack.tf[/url] if you think saying "Christmas is coming" is going to work. Scroll down and read through the closed trades for the B.M.O.C.: [url]http://backpack.tf/vote/666/6/0[/url], you'll notice that everyone that suggested higher using Christmas is coming as their only proof was denied.
im responding to this request to lower the value. not requesting that it go higher, only that the basis for decreasing the value not be on quicksells
I would agree with that. Be nice if you find stuff to counter this. I don't think it's been justified enough to be lowered.
The whole "Christmas is coming" logic is the exact logic that got this item where it is in the first place.

I think 18 keys is obtainable at this point, how ever it can get higher than 20 keys easily. The third link who posted that that he would sell the BMOC for 15 keys was a troll, he has very little in his backpack unless he sold all 15 keys for money.

The problem with this item is, even when it was priced at 26-28 / 1 bud , etc, how many were selling for that price?
There's so many for sale that it's tough to pin down a price on the item. I'm going to be keeping an eye on the warehouse; as of yesterday you could still get ~ 40 craft hats (or even 20 keys if they will ever have any again) by trading a B.M.O.C. which would put it at around 19-20 keys on the low end. Warehouse is typically ahead of the curve on the low end. :)
at one point people were accepting bmoc as buds, however this is no longer the case. all the price hike did was show the actual demand to supply.
I think 18 is too low that first trade shows a lot of people trying to race to buy it. It seems to not be an 18 key item. Worth more then that and 20 keys I think sells easily.
you can buy easily with 18-19 pure keys.

In conclusion, the price of the B.M.O.C is gradually dropping and more people are willing to sell them at a lower price as they know it is dropping.

Actually no. It doesn't mean 20, you don't average out the prices like that. If anything it makes a range of 19-20 keys acceptable, but not 20 even. Definitely cheaper than 20 keys given links.

I think that's a good question for you. First check if he really bought any.
If you refer to the trade, it says "I want to buy the listed items *Quicksell*". You can infer that he is stock-piling and plans to purchase the B.M.O.C for resale and thus, he may have sold them already. Don't just hate on reality when the price of it is dropping, especially if your name includes "S>BMOC".
While its a pretty good hat it should have not increased in price to its 250 % in the first place. Chirstmas is coming yes but those who really want the hat cant afford it in its current value. Agree with price lowering a bit but not drastically.

But supply has always been higher than demand for this item.
It's the sellers who weren't selling their items for below a certain price that kept it so high in the first place.
Now that it's selling for a bit less, most of them are even more unlikely to want to sell it for less, and the price kind of floats based on how many sellers are willing to take a loss.
In order to mark a price on this guide, the majority of trades have to be happening in the price range, so a lot more 18 key trades have to be found for this price to be an accurate picture of the current market.
Demand may re-go up for christmas... unless they decide to re-release it. I think for the next 20 ish days this hat will be in the 20 key range.
have you ever actually met someone that said "i have to buy a bmoc for when i play tf2 on christmas". I think demand will always stay low.

Hi. I have to buy a BMOC for when I play TF2 on Christmas.
I bought it for a bud a month ago because I wanted it for Santa Soldier (Nothing to do with christmas though) Just wanted to use it with Kringle and All Father. The bud was gifted which I bought for 15 keys so it's not a loss anyways.
I believe the reason this hat is dropping is because Valve decided to re-release the 2011 halloween items. Maybe they'll do the same for christmas.
Instead, they should release the B.B.M.O.C. and make it at least twice as large.
They could also make the old B.M.O.C.s vintage...that would be nice. Probably not going to happen, but still a cool thought.

In my opinion I do think this hat should drop just like the 2011 halloween costumes did. If valve does make new 2012 Christmas items. People like new and not the old.
Link 1, 2, 3 is all buyer and link 4 is only one seller, so if one person seller for 18 keys, that is mean a thousand people have to deal with that price ? 20 - 21 keys is already enough. Down Vote
You can see by looking at the buyers that there are a good amount of people willing to sell their B.M.O.Cs for 18 keys.
You know people can change note right ? First they started with a good price, when they have enough "Added" comments, they will change the note to the lowest price. (That is always happen in outpost)

I sold mine for a blizzardy Ol' geezer and it now has a current offer of a bud, although after the halloween update with them bringing back event items I thought this would definitely come back so I got rid of it. However I dont think festives will return, if they do I'm screwed...

Halloween items have always re-dropped. Masks, now costumes..
This, however, hasn't happened for other events so far.
Thus is it very unlikely that they will do it this.

Sold one today, for 24 keys. Yes, its still possible.
The price of this item is tied closely with tf2wh stock. tf2wh is offering 21+ keys in tf2wh credits for this item. The stock was at 0 about 6 days ago. On 11/12/12, stock shot up to 32. Today stock is at 47 out of 80. Once tf2wh hits 100% this item will go into freefall. Why you don't see 18 or 19 keys on tf2outpost for too long? Because people are buying them up to sell to tf2wh for more credits

That is true but if the suppliers don't sell it for less the people who want it need to pay up or forget it...
I see people not pass on an opportunity of buying one for 20, why would the seller think of dropping it lower :D

i do beleive that there are people out there (vets) who do try and distabllize the new players and get them to make poor decisions, but i mean this is real money people play with. To win in life you gotta be a shark, and a shark gotta eat!..... me personally i have a lot of f2p players in the group we started and i help them out with free stuff all the time. its definately a buyers market Atm, but things may change
i agree what im trying to say though is their is vets who are just plain pissed that they missed out on the bmoc and ebenezer so they will just keep saying things like "honestly the bmoc shouldnt be worth more than 2 keys" jnust cause they dont have 1
The quickbuyers offering 18 keys get only 1 sold to them every two days. Not a very convincing pace. It indicates to me that 18 is too low. After perusing seller's listings, it seems that these still fetch 20 keys without much trouble.
As much as I hate the hype around this hat, I believe the current price is fine.
The fact that TF2 Warehouse, as tf2trademule pointed out, pays 21 keys for these and remains below stock is pretty telling. Perhaps another drop is coming as Warehouse's stock increases, but for now, 20-21 is still the price.
