Probably because of the Russians "buying" all them keys. Not to mention that neither supply nor demand has really decreased.
As the fancy doo-hickey tf2finance says: 26.51. And rising.
I assisted my mate selling a pair for 27, so I'm pretty sure that I can upvote this with confidence.
Will be nice to see order return to the economy. :-)
upvote, buds are indeed slowly going up.
There is definitely more demand for buds recently both for cash and keys.
No problem up voting this one
other than those russian bullcrap, yes, i seen buds go for 27 keys on TSs, so yeah, i can see this
upvote alot of people want's earbuds
After the key incident, I'm glad to see currency returning to its proper value.
upvote, seen em go for 27
Its pretty wanted and people pay for them upvote.
29-30 keys
they WILL NOT go for that high.
You did this for the key suggestion too (3-3.55 ref). Are you trolling or what?
Upvote, and If I could I would upvote many times, the key inflation needs to go down and this will help it along :P

Upvoted. I quickly looked through about 60 trades on TF2OP. The lowest buyout price I could find was 26 + 2 ref - http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/6319247
And there were a few people offering 26 keys for buds:

http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/6317030
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/6283927
I hate to ask, but how many did you see at 28 so far? :)
Quite a few, but it's TF2OP, so I also saw people asking for 29 keys, 30 keys, 40 keys, 2 buds, and a HOUWAR + firstborn child ;)
BTW, that bud selling for 26 keys + 2 ref is gone now. I should bought it :(
Ahahaha i feel so happy i just got buds for 26 keys withing my trade being up for 1 day!!! All the other trades were for 27-28 and i got lucky, great suggestion btw :D
I'm kinda inclined to say no, because TF2 Finance uncovered a fiasco with the purchase of buds. A small clan of traders used deactivated accounts to buy keys, and a lot of them.

Everyone knows that, but the volume has already gone back to normal. Check the graph.
The thing is though, these keys and buds are still in the economy, and some people might not know that, so if someone who had just re-started playing tf2 after a haitus, and they saw that "Oh, such and such sold their buds for 27 keys, I should too," it would throw off the economy, by causing a spike in the prices.
Also, the graph has slowly been rising to the price that these frauded buds were sold at. I'm willing to speculate that if that spike in the graph didn't exist, the graph would have held steady.
Buds are already selling for around 27 keys regardless of what happened with those Russians. The average price of buds to keys is increasing beyond 26.5 keys and TF2finance proves this. If anything that incident will increase the demand for buds.
I agree. From the evidence Base1024 showed, it's quite likely that the carders did affect the price of buds, even though it seems that wasn't their goal (they probably just overpaid because they wanted to cash out as fast as possible, before Valve could detect the bad CC transactions and stop them trading).
But this site is supposed to report the price, and the price is rising, whatever the reasons.
Also, it looks like the actual trading price on TF2OP and TF2TP has already risen higher than this price suggestion, so you could see this as a compromise between what we believe the price should be (if there had been no interference), and what it actually is.
Interesting how bud price updates around here are only "urgent" when its crashing and people have a chance to make large, easy profits. Whats the point of letting this suggestion go for 19 hours when we all know this is the true price range of buds to keys?
Maybe because crashes tend to be much faster than price rises? I think that's because the buds owners' selling prices are used as the main reference for the buds price, and buds owners get in far more of a panic about losing actual value when the price falls, than losing potential value in a price rise...?
My point remains. Evidence shows that it is not that difficult to get more than 26 keys for earbuds right now, so this suggestion needs to be accepted already. Seems to me like some of the admins may want to "milk" this current price as long as possible. But these bud suggestions were accepted with haste during the halloween event, when it was crashing.
You think as soon as this is accepted an alert gets sent out to all TF2 players saying 'Earbuds: 26-27 Keys!'?
The price guide reports on the current prices of items trading in the market, it doesn't set a price and then everyone starts trading items at that price.
So, a suggestion is made, we wait and see, and if it's really accurate and a necessary change, it gets accepted. If it happens to take longer than you expect, you could always use the 'other' suggested price guide which is updated a lot more often. (/sarsasm)
If I remember correctly this site was designed to reflect the current prices of items. If this suggestion is more accurate than the current price (which it is, tf2finance verifies this) then I don't think its too much to ask for the admins to accept it within a decent time frame. Especially on high value items that get traded often like earbuds.
If you're going to accuse the admins of holding the price down so they can buy more buds, then you should show some evidence of their trades and inventory contents that supports that, or it's just meaningless mud slinging.
This site only has 4 or 5 admins who can approve price changes, so maybe they're all just busy. Also, the most active admin, Puddinghead, had his Steam account hijacked yesterday, so he probably isn't available.
I do agree with the general idea that price changes of currency items like buds and keys should get special attention, and maybe they should get accepted faster if the evidence is strong. Though undoubtedly people will also criticize those rapid decisions...
I'm not going to bother investigating all of the admins trading habits, I don't care enough about it to go that far. But they must not be too busy, seeing how the price of crate #40, Haunted Garlic Flank Stake, and Vintage Bonk Helm all were recently updated. Theres no reason for a price suggestion on earbuds to run more than 24 hours. Its either accurate or its not, approve/deny within 6-12 hours and move on. From what I've been able to see recently, the admins are quick to approve suggestions on earbuds when the price falls, but not when the price rises. I can only speculate as to why from there, as like I said I don't care enough to investigate it in depth. I do think that someone should keep tabs on them though, its just not going to be me.
Well some russians spent US$10000 on buying keys then buying earbuds for 28 keys each I BLAME THEM!
Some people complain prices get accepted too quickly. Others complain they don't get accepted quickly enough. There's no pleasing everyone.
