The other suggestion passed because of this: http://tf2finance.com/keys/

Keys seem to stabilize again after the jump of yesterday, and the current price (2.8) is right between 2.77 (2.66-2.88) and 2.84 (2.77-2.88) so let's see what happens. Keys might get more expencive because more people are trading them for games (thanks for the explaination, Chief Boogaloo Shrimp).

Agreed, personally I think the Mann Co. Store should put out a sale on keys in order to lower the price of them in metal.

Personally, I don't want that to happen because there will be a huge shitstorm. TF2 trading is based on keys and if keys get cheaper I honestly don't want to know what is going to happen. I think Valve should to something to stop the inflation of metal instead of inflating the keys.

Yeah you're right, that would completely bomb the entire economy.

Metal isn't inflating though. A refined has always been worth a refined; that is something that is never going to change. It is keys that are inflating. If the price of refined was inflating then keys in turn would deflated, but that is not the case.

Sorry, I fucked up with the definition of "inflation". What I am talking about is that everyone gets around 1-2 rec in metal a week because of drops, while it is not possible to get keys without buying them. Most of the new metal stays in the system (it is easier to buy 2 craft hats than to craft 3 ref, and you can't really do much with metal), while the number of keys doesn't really grow because people are using keys to uncrate. I think that adding something for converting metal into something else (but NOT like the hat recipes, why should someone craft 3 ref if they can craft 2.66 instead?) might add more value to metal.

True, I see your point now.

The other suggestion passed because "I DONT KNOW ABOUT TRADE SERVERS AND LAZY TO CHECK TF2OP MORE THAN 1 MIN AND 1st PAGE" (c)

You may write in caps all you want. The fact is that people will jump on key trades for 2.77 ref on outpost like a pack of savage dogs. I traded a guy for 3 keys for 2.77 ref with in 5 seconds of him putting up the trade. He said he got 5 adds during the course of our trade.

Using TF2 Finance is not being lazy; it is a site designed specifically to list the current average trading prices of keys and buds. Right now the average buying and selling of keys is closer to 2.83 ref rather than 2.77 ref. Please do not rage again, it is very unbecoming, but then again I do not know you personally, so maybe you are naturally prone to yell for no reason.

The thing is...the price that we are setting right now influences the price people sell for. When the price was 2.66-2.88, TF2 Finance price was around 2.79. Within 3-6 hours after the admin approved the 2.77-2.88 price, the average price on TF2 Finance jumped up to 2.84.

When it comes to key prices, backpack.tf is actually more of a trend setter and not a trend follower AT THIS TIME. Right now, everybody is unsure of the price of keys because of Halloween and they actually are relying on websites to set a price.

I guarantee if backpack.tf put 2.66-2.77 as the price, the average price would drop...a lot.

The price of keys was already 2.83 ref when the last price suggestion was accepted, but I know what you are saying, and I agree.

                  >>Within 3-6 hours after the admin approved the 2.77-2.88 price, the average price on TF2 Finance jumped up to 2.84.

                  FALSE

It's actually the other way around. The average was 2.83 ish before admins approved the price.

Pretty hilarious to see pages of people adding the 2.66 seller, it should clearly be an indicator to you that the price is too low. If they're going out like hot cakes...

So yeah, I can agree that if you're lucky, you can find a few 2.66 sellers, but it's not common and they were probably listing at 2.66 because they did not bother looking at the market. This is why backpack.tf exists, to make sure everyone gets a fair trade. If they use backpack.tf prices blindly, now they have a better sense of what their keys are actually worth, because people are buying for 2.77+ instantly.

Brad, this is where I disagree with you. Why? BECAUSE THERE'S MORE THAN A HANDFUL OF 2.66 SELLERS! Many of them clearly know what the market is, and still price at 2.66.

And tf2finance hops around QUITE a bit, when I suggested this the average value was 2.78, now it's 2.83. Unless quite literally EVERYONE was selling at 2.77, 2,78 would be nigh impossible to reach without quite a few 2.66 sellers as well.

I think people are just buying up now in hopes that keys will rise again. People are quickbuying keys at 2.88 because they obviously think they'll rise to >3, considering there's not a huge effect unboxing fest going on.

I dont think anyone thinks anyone thinks that, and i think 1 seller of 2.66 in 5 pages of outpost search, pretty much means that there is a handful. If you search ref-->key, there are pages upon pages of unsuccessful buyer. I am downvoting this suggestion.

may i ask how do you know the buyers are unsuccessful exactly? i keep post up as long as a couple weeks. doesn't mean i don't get sellers, just means i'm still buying the items.

Im making an assumption just based by how many there are

Well ur assumption is wrong buddy cause i bought a bunch of them for 2.66 even though theres no comment on my trade

To assume is to make an ass out of u and me. Lol that was lame :3

You're stubborness hurts my eyes. You accept a suggestion with barely any proof given, but you're stubborn to accept a suggestion with plenty of proof given.

Why eyes? Shouldn't it be mind? Stubbornness is not known to affect eyes.

Nice proof. I still find it very hard to buy for 2.66. tf2finance says the average of keys are 2.82 and the price is fine right now. How about we let keys stabalize before we rush to change it again?

I posted like 10 links on the last one with people selling for 2.66 ref or less. I guess I'll just repost them here.

At the time I found these links, they were all selling within the last 24 hours. That's a lot of keys selling at 2.66 in one day for the minimum price to be 2.77 ref.

Many thanks for providing the last link :D

I dunno, people are still selling for 2.66 but only because that's what they think they still cost. If they knew they could easily sell them for 2.77 I'm sure they all would. Basically, people still selling at 2.66 are ripping themselves off, so is it really right to say that it's the price of keys? I dunno, so I'm not voting... but is that how it's meant to work? If I went and sold a ton of craft hats for a ref because I didn't know better, would the price then be 1-1.33? I'd love to be able to grab a ton of keys for 2.66 like I could a couple of weeks ago but it's just not what they're worth at the moment.

Im with you bro still VERY easy to pick em up at 2.66, espiacally on trade servers, Upvoted

You've had one key in your backpack, and not a single refined metal for the past 4-5 days (didn't bother to check further). I guess it must look easy when you don't try to get some yourself.

I struggle to find keys at 2.88. Even on trade servers.

Thank you so much. Idk why the admins closed down mine yesterday like 40 minutes into it. Up voting because I 100% agree with the 2.66 price as that's all i buy keys for.

I'm sick of people crying over the price of keys. 2.77-2.88 is fine. Just let it go.

If I said "I'm sick of people crying over the price of keys. 2.55-2.66 is fine. Just let it go." without any evidence would YOU be pissed off?

I've posted quite a bit of evidence, but the only, and I mean the ONLY actual evidence posted against me is tf2finance which jumps around a lot, sometimes it supports my suggestion (average value: 2.77) and sometimes it doesn't.

Oh, and I'm sick of people crying about people changing the price of keys.

There is a reason why the prices on keys have jumped so high in the past.

                                  http://forums.steamrep.com/threads/today-i-discovered-that-there-are-tons-of-keys-with-doubtful-origin-injecting-into-the-market.14096/

If you havent already read the article here is the quoted tl;dr of it all

"A group of Russians bought >5,000 Keys from Store today using illegitimate credit cards and bought few hundred Buds from TF2 Outpost at an ridiculous price of 28-30 Keys (The average yesterday was 25.5 Keys). They have been doing this for quite a long time and their activity today is alarming. "

Ive played tf2 for awhile but stopped around a year ago when keys were 2.33. I find that around a year of buying this many keys and buds is what caused the price to rise. I think the rise in the price of keys should steadily be lowered maybe .11 every month and a half until we say get to 2.44.

You do know 5,000 keys isn't very many, right? Currently 355,000 keys exist. That's around a .15% increase. And you do know that this has always been happening, right? And you do know that an INCREASE in supply means the price actually drops, right?

What we are dealing with right now was the shortage of keys during Halloween. We no longer have a shortage. The key price went from 2.60 to 2.80+ in about a week. It would normally take almost an entire year of normal key price inflation to reach that price. The key is currently artificially inflated. The demand is artificially created by people on outpost only selling for ridiculous amounts.

yes, I aggree the logic being used currenlty is people paying our price equals a higher demand / desprate rise = rise in price, kinda strange when you realise the 7/10 buyers follow the pricelist to the death, not strange to see people "being desprate"

Well, if keys are flooding the market that would cause inflation. Therefore the overall price of keys would go down because there is an over-abundance of them.

You are right, flooding the market with Keys would cause inflation of all limited items denominated in Keys. It will also cause Key prices in USD to fall.

Flooding with Keys also has a negative effect on Key prices in Ref, but that negative effect is still not powerful enough to counteract with Refined Metal injection (which has positive effect). Therefore, it only "slows down" the rise, but not "invert" the rise.

Yeah, metal is just rising too fast I guess

The rest of the community isn't. This isn't your type of place if you don't want to witness people discussing a highly critical and delicate price that could shape the economy of TF2 and it's direction.

The thing is, prices in keys are increasing for no reason what-so-ever except for people on outpost opening and closes trades saying they sold them for "5 ref" its stupid. No logical reason whatsoever for them to rise, they need to come down.

Keys listed at 2.66 ref get bought way too quickly for them to be in the range right now.

I would like to make a couple of points.

Yes there are trades happening at 2.66 ref, but there are also trades happening at 3 ref.

                                        http://i.imgur.com/PnwJl.png

Proof has been shown on this page that there are sellers selling Keys at 2.66 ref,

but on the other hand, there are also sellers successfully selling Keys at 3 ref.

All you have to do is add the major sellers on Outpost who have Key trades open, and ask for assistance.

The correct range is 2.66-3, but given that 2.77-2.88 more likely dominate the market and for the sake of simplicity, 2.77-2.88 was adopted.

After halloween ended, the average did decrease infinitesimally, which confirms the theory that demand for Key decreased after halloween, it's just that the effect is overestimated by those who say "Halloween is over, why the **** do people still buy Keys".

The recent infinitesimal increase in the average might be caused by Steam Autumn Sale, where people trade Ref for Keys and buy Games with Keys.

The overall average for the past 14 days is very stable.

Price of Keys does not increase with "no apparent reason"

                                        http://i.imgur.com/jwNd7.png

The apparent reason is that the market is injected with tonnes of Refined Metal from idling accounts.

People with 100 idling accounts can get 55.55 ref for FREE each week.

Yes, total number of Keys in the market has been increasing.

                                        But so what?

Is the total number of Refined Metal fixed? Of course not.

Given that both Keys and Refined Metal quantity both increases every day,

which one increases at a faster rate? (I'm implying Metal)

The trend after halloween is very stable.

Just look at the straight flat line at the end.

The gradually rising trend is restored properly.

                                        Also,

Keys were 1.11 ref in January 2011,

Keys were 2.44 ref in January 2012,

If Keys are approaching 2.88 ref by the start of January 2013, I would 100% be not surprised.

Dont you think the increase of sellers selling for 3 refined is completely due to pricing places like backpack.tf constantly increasing their prices? once the price changes to 3 refined, we are going to see prices range from 3 ref-4 ref. and places like tf2finance will show HEY, PEOPLE ARE SELLING KEYS HIGHER NOW, IT MUST BE BECAUSE EVERYONE SUBCONSCIOUSLY KNOWS METAL IS INCREASING. and then backpack.tf will see this change, and will increase it. Also, 100 idle accounts = 500$.

Don't you think he is actually more intelligent than you and has more data to manipulate than your opinion?

                                            EDIT :

Damn, you again and your statements that come out of nowhere.

I don't want to be scornful, but have you traded enough to know what you are talking about? Are you familar enough with the market, with bulk trades, with unusual trading? Do you know how every thing works?

I can only judge you by your backpack.

                                            And your primary steam group...

My god, he's making http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OkRJBRffIBc look smart...

Wow, im glad its come down to insults.

Oh my, thank you , I actually didn't notice I joined that group. I don't question how intelligent he is, his website does what it's meant to do, and is very useful for buyers to figure out how much they should be buying for. But maybe if you would listen, you would get what I'm saying. I'm saying that if we keep looking at tf2finance for the price of keys, we will only see it rise because we are causing it to rise. its only infinite inflation and for no good reason.

Infinite inflation is bad, everybody agrees.

However, that is what the system of this virtual economy created.

We chose to adopt two currencies (Metal and Keys) that grow at different rates,

yet the two currencies are both accepted as methods of settlement of debt for same items.

                                                  Blame the system.

Joe, if an item is purchased via "try it out" + credit card, an alt account for collecting .33-.66 a week on average could cost as little as

How would you think this could be solved? if that is even possible. Thanks for responding.

The ways to keep Keys-Refined exchange rate stable is,

                                                        1)

By injecting even more Keys into the market so that both Keys and Refined grow at the same rate.

This can be done if something is willing to spend tons of Keys at $2.49 from Store. OR if Valve just give certain number of free keys per week, OR if the people inject keys into the market using fraudulent means at a massive rate.

                                                        2)

                                                        By establishing fixed exchange rate,

make Keys craftable and decomposable inside the game client.

OR someone spends unlimited money to buy Keys from SourceOP and sell them at fixed price in Refined Metal throughout the year, and the stock must be able to supply every player/idler in TF2.

Regardless of which method we choose,

The exchange rate of Buds-Keys will be severely affected. Buds will further be shot up, while USD value of Keys will drop in the first case, rise in the second case.

We are trying to strive a balance of stability between Metal/Keys/Bills/Earbuds.

If you fix one pair, another pair will be doomed.

What would be the best price outcome (in metal) in your eyes if it were to stabilize. You probably wouldn't care how much since you're most likely pretty rich in keys, but I'm just curious. Thanks so much for the detailed responses.

I'm looking at this from a market standpoint for valve.

1.) Something like a key bonus for buying certain things? That could actually work, if implemented reasonably. For example, getting "X" number of key(s) for buying "x" game within a certain period of time.

2.) Making keys craftable. Interestingly enough, you can have a shot at ANY hat (including the 10+$ ones) by crafting 3 refined. You could get a hat that costs a dollar in the store, or ten dollars. What I mean by this is, valve could make keys craftable from a market standpoint IF they picked the right amount of metal to craft it with.

Also, TJPoopyJoe is my alt account. This, my main account has 1315 hours, my main accounts backpack isn't anything to brag about though, but that's because about a year and a half ago ago i gave away everything in my backpack to a friend of mine and only got back into tf2 this year.

i put up a trade for keys and immediately bought a bunch of them for 2.66

                                                    http://tf2finance.com/2012_11/

this does show the price of keys rising ( like we didn't know this :P ) but if you scroll down, by November 12 it shows more people buying for 2.66 and 2.88 than anything else.and those people who jump prices up whenever prices fluctuate and freak out about it 3 ref = 1 key but i'll rather stick with a small yet more accurate range. keeps it simple for now.

i can't even buy a key for 2.77 in 2 days on tf2outpost, though i sold like 20+ at 3 ref each in like 1 day

Whoever is reading this please downvote this suggestion because keys have more demand than refind

As this is the basic price I always find:

                                                        Downvote

                                                        Upvote

Agree 100%, you've also included the 2.88 in the range.

Ok, people who are saying that when backpack tf changes the price, the average rises. Base64 already told us that the average rises BEFORE the price is changed. If you want to make it 2.66-2.88 because of this, then you are a price manipulator.

If you check the graph, there is indeed people selling keys for 2.66, 2.77,2.88 and 3 ref. People who want to sell keys fast because they want metal, they don't know they can easily sell for 2.88 or other reason do it for 2.66.

People who need keys right away to buy games on the sale or any other reason, buy for 3 ref.

The average is still 2.77-2.88. If I'm not mistaken, I closed the last suggestion right away. Why? Because you guys, apparently, are trying to manipulate the prices for X reasons. This site bases it's prices on the current market. Remember when there was no range and people wanted to raise the keys from 2.55 to 2.66? It was always closed because people actually sold keys for 2.55 and because that was gonna mess up most of the prices on the site. Now the system has changed and the site can accept ranges on keys without affecting the prices like it did before.

tl;dr: If you want to change the price so it stops rising, you're a price manipulator.

                                                              >or other reason do it for 2.66

so you're just completely doubting that real traders genuinely sell keys for 2.66, which is completely untrue. There are experienced traders still trading for 2.66 and they restock keys regularly!

Yeah, I've seen those "I don't care what the price is I'll still sell for 2.66 so sell them to me for 2.66 or donate and I'll sell again for no profit".

To check the current market price, try selling for 2.66, 2.77, 2.88 and 3 ref. After you see how fast you sell them, get an average.

Also, they get sold out minutes after the restock because it's too cheap.

There is a clear agenda I have seen in the past month where we are seeing excuse after excuse being justified for a price hike, and the people saying HURR DURR I SOLD AT AT 3 REFINED don't care anymore. Over the past month, I have seen a ton of venom on both sides of key transactions at Outpost, and people are getting extremely pissed off. It's all going to come to a head if this cycle continues, and it is not going to be pretty when the dust settles.

For those spitting out that people selling at 2.66 would buy if the keys were 2.77, what if it isn't that they think it is the price, but they KNOW it to be the price? It does not matter that "THE KEYS ARE GOING OUT SO FAST THAT IT IS NOT A CORRECT PRICE," in your words. The fact that these transactions actually EXIST justify the price range, not disprove it.

I am upvoting this suggestion, because there are still people selling for 2.66 on Outpost, and as long as those are there, it validates the existence of this suggestion.

                                                              Get it through your heads:

-These are NOT, I repeat, NOT limited editon promos.

-The keys generally are pumped into the economy faster than they are consumed, and generally are introduced at a rate of 3000-5000 per day. By this Christmas, there will be 400,000 of these in the market

-Whenever keys have a price increase, everything else in the game is affected. Look no further than the Halloween event to prove my statement.

-The reason why there are so many people claiming that there is no sale is at 2.66 is because they are trying to protect their investment.

                                                              - Looking at the TF2WH value of keys, it is listed as 2.44, 2 scraps under the price suggested here and a full reclaimed lower than the accepted price last time. The price only rose for that site at 1 scrap. You have raised it up to .44 in game during Halloween and .33 currently from the last accepted price. It hints at disparity in the prices here and the warehouse site. Since Warehouse tends to closely follow prices closely, and the fact that the key rose in warehouse at a lower rate than in the game, it hints that the prices may get lower than 2.66

I have said this to you many times.

Refined Metals are pumped into the economy at a rate faster than net keys pumped into the economy. You still insist that Refined Metal is fixed in every aspect, Quantity, value in USD, ratio to Keys Quantity.

Keys are becoming more limited relative to Refined Metal.

I strongly disagree. It is foolish to attempt to make an item scarce artificially, and It does not matter that the ref is coming in the numbers they are. Keys are still coming in, and they have increased by about 45,000 in 14 days. You are also not factoring in the buyer and seller, and there IS a stopping point into how much is spent for 1 key. These are not investments to be held onto, and that is why there is a fight to keep the prices reasonable.

The buyer (customer) is always right, in common business, and these people on outpost selling keys don't realize it. Like it or not, there is a point that people willl say screw it, and vote with their wallet elsewhere, be it lower metal prices or mann co or paypal. In the case of lower metal prices, the ratio of metal and keys will not matter if the players refuse to budge on higher prices. It is buy low, sell high in this economy, and if people wanting to buy keys will not accept a price, they will let you know.

                                                                    > It does not matter that the ref is coming in the numbers they are.

Just go to any real world discussion forum about Economics/Finance and ask:

If USA real GDP is growing at 3% and China real GDP is growing at 3%.

But USA printed 5% more money this year and China printed 4% more money this year, what happens to the exchange rate.

Your Consumer rights analogy is flawed. Both items are Currency. If I buy Keys with Ref, it means I sell Ref for Keys. It's not like I buy iPhone with USD. It's I buy CNY with USD.

That is why when we draw the Demand/Supply diagram of currency A. Decrease in Demand for A means decrease in Supply of B in diagram of B.

Just look at the two pics http://www.econedlink.org/lessons/index.php?lid=342&type=student

But the only demand growing for it is the price, and not keys overall. The keys may always be in demand, true, but you cannot argue that the once the Halloween event was over, the demand of keys went down considerably It as easy during the Halloween event to buy for 3 refined, now it is like trying to find a needle in a haystack to find a successful one. Those successful 3 refined sales are grossly outnumbered by key sales for other prices, hence, why 3 ref is not even considered.

The money printing analogy does not work, because those items are found/earned. each week, and not "printed", which is considered duping. Usually, the dupes are with higher value items such as unusuals, earbuds, max heads, and bills. Like it or not, item drops are considered EARNED. If inflation exists, it is with those items, and not the keys or the refined metal. Printed = Duped. Earned = Item Drops.

By printed I mean "growth". It does not matter if it's actually physical. The government can just ask the commercial banks to "increase balance" without depositing anything.

They can also buy back their Government Bonds held by commercial banks/the public. The money used for the redemption can be printed 10 years ago, but they are not circulating for the past 10 years (they are held in Government vault).

How do the public get the newly printed money? It could be through Government Spending, i.e. pay wages with new money.

It doesn't matter where the new money came from, the only thing that matters is "total number of currency in circulation".

                                                                        >now it is like trying to find a needle in a haystack to find a successful one

Just add the sellers, please. Or just put up a trade that says "Selling Keys for 3ref".

It's items like these which make me wonder why we even bother voting and commenting, Brad doesn't listen to us.

The last suggestion had a net score of -140 and 100 comments saying 2.66 was possible on trade servers, but it was passed anyway because he couldn't find them on outpost.

This one gets a ton of proof at 2.66, and yet more comments saying 2.66 is possible, and still he says no.

We get it Brad, your opinion is that the price should be higher. But that's not what backpack.tf is about. This site is about using the community to decide on prices and with so many people saying 2.66 maybe you should open your mind - or let another mod take over dealing with keys for a bit.

                                                                  Thats what i said yesterday.

i got 11 keys in the last 3 days @ 2.55 each from outpost. just saying :)

"Added" means nothing in this kind of trades, there is no offers or any reason to post. Answered somewhere above with recent 9 keys and 60 yesterday, still my trade commented 1 week ago.

One thing i agree is, remove the key price and let the community creat their own price, 90% of traders use backpack and spreedsheet as firm price of the key (dis is bad).

Most of the trades happen in game, your guys only show the outpost, tfop, etc...

Remove the key price, then all will be fine.

(i am crazy or everyfkin day someone tries do change the key price?)

If you're going to include the low 2.66 price that apparently people can buy, you should also include 3ref that apparently people can sell for.

2.77-2.88 is the current range that includes the most trades.

I'm assuming you realize that if you close this, then another one will just pop up and be up for days, and that if you accept this, then another one will just pop up and be up for days.

There are too many 2.66 trades to simply ignore the 2.66 range.

I myself just bought one at 2.66... it isn't impossible.

And it isnt impossible to sell at 3 ref, like posted here many times. Well I wont vote here anyways...

3 ref sales have become much more rare. If people stopped buying keys from the first person they saw, they wouldn't even exist...

Yeah they are all soo lazy...and the 2.66 sellers are lazy too...^^

Except according to a lot of people 2.77 is apparantly an instant sell. Also since so many people have trouble finding it at 2.88 that must be an instant sale too.

So either a key seller at 2.66 doesn't know the price or simply doesn't want to sell it for a rediculous price.

Friendly reminder that you people are mad over a 10 cent decrease suggestion

No one really cares about the real world currency part of this. It is more about the idea of keeping the increase of 1 scrap or decreasing 1 scrap. I realize the average only changes a weapon, but it is the thought of the range that really counts.

Actually less, lol. But bulk buyers who buy 50 keys at a time have a hard time with this.

                                                                                http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/6628487

Sold 3 keys for 2.88 in 2 minutes and 30 seconds. My thread buying keys for 2.66 remains untouched after several days. 2.66 is almost impossible.

Put up a new trade buying for 2.77. Got an add, but by the time I had accepted it 30 seconds later he informed me that he had sold them. they're selling very easily at 2.77, which tells me the price is fine as is.

pff... all ya have to do is to present a foolish price and it will go up?

                                                                                    ok

                                                                                    1key = 1 bud...

I just don't care about bp.tf's key price anymore. Hell, these guys are as tainted as the spreadsheet dude. I'm buying keys at 2.66 and selling items for keys at 2.66.

He who trades often, knows that you can get almost anyone with 2.66 per key. These price changes are nothing but petty interest.

You wanna ask me for proof? Check the majority of trades in op, tp. Do some trading. You will see. Even if I give you 1000 examples, the price will be accepted today, and tomorrow a moron will come, post a 3 ref suggestions with 10 trades as proof and it will be accepted, out of sheer interest of course.

This is crap and we all know it. The key has always been a constant, unless other types of keys are added to the game. When they disappear, the Mann Co. Keys go back to normal. (2.55 - 2.66) It's always been like that.

These, so called site owners just want to dislodge a buck or two from shaking the price of keys. Oh, and of course they are helped by a few morons who feel if they have 2 keys for sell they'll gain something. That's why they are called morons - they will lose more than they gained with their next trade.

                                                                                      G.f.y.

Thought I'd just put this in here. Someone buying for 2.88 ref.

No he isn't. He has 4 keys in his inventory and multiple, multiple adds selling him tons of keys that he hid. He is just trying to make the key look more valuable than it is so he can sell his at 3 ref in his other trade.

Well hey, don't blame me. Just putting what I saw to be too good to be true I guess.

i made trade on tf2op of selling keys for 2.77 and got 5 friend requests in 5 views in 5 seconds. (really)

and the last (actually, the third) guy bought my last 10 keys for 29 ref.

2 days, 500 votes. Alright, it's Vincent's time to be hated.

These are the most common highest buying prices and lowest selling prices on outpost. Proof has been provided that 2.66 ref DOES happen. But on the flipside?

                                                                                              http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/6554418

People who are successfully selling at 3 refined. If we're going to include the occasional 2.66 trades, there is NO reason to leave out the occasional 3 refined trades.

2.66-2.88 needlessly skews towards buyers. 2.77-2.88 is a medium where keys are selling most regularly. To include 2.66 ref without 3 ref or 3 ref without 2.66 ref is an inaccurate representation of the way keys are selling, plain and simple.

And, because it can't be posted enough, this.
