Could you post some more proof ?

I've always been successful selling these for 3 keys. Upvote.

    Thanks Man.

They go fairly easily for 3 keys. Black is in high demand, people like being dark and mysterious these days :P

Very true. Very True. It is a nice paint.

      Upvoted anyways :P

        Thanks man. Appreciate it.

Ok this again. They can be sold for 3 keys since months (I sold some of them for that price) but they can be bought for about 6 ref or even 2 keys too if you are a bit lucky.

Anyways, this will be closed for sure, so I'm not voting.

Can you please let us know what you bought your paint for?

Also, I'm curious why didn't you sell it to the guy who offered 7.66 when you showed two keys + 2 ref in your trade? I know ref is ref, and keys are keys, but 5.66 for two keys seems reasonable.

Oh, I got the paint in unusual trading, so there really is no saying how much I payed. I value it at 2.5-3 keys though. I think he did as well.

Im trying this out. Put mine for 3 keys up. Lets see how it goes :)

            (hopefully good)

Good Luck to you in your sale!

                3 keys possible

But idk if it's a common price. Took all day.

Oh my god it took all day! You realize some trades stay up for months. That means the demand is there at 3 keys then. :3

Yea and i sold my last one.

Im not very used to waiting all day to sell unless i know its a high price lol

Speaking from personal experience? This does seem to be the most accurate. I did a bit of black paint buying to make sure I had enough paints to finish my black hat collection, then sold my extras when I decided it was time to stop. I was buying steadily at 2.5 keys, selling steadily at 3 keys.

Though this WAS before halloween, so my experience was with old key prices.

Oh so that's why your name is Distinctive Lack of Vincent because you have so many Black painted hats! Oh! (sarcasm :3 )

This is exactly how I see it. If you are needing Black paint, you can regularly get some for 2.5 keys, but also easily sell for 3. That is why my price stands where it is.

I'm still on the fence about this. I haven't been trading much lately, but as recently as two weeks ago I was able to get this paint for 6-6.33 ref pretty consistently. (See my comment on the previous vote)

When I first saw this suggestion earlier today, I had a quick look around and saw some available for 6 ref and 6.66 ref.

I could try selling the paint I have for 3 keys as well, but I just know that I'll be last in line to sell it, when there's so many available for less. There's only 7 pages on Outpost, it's not too hard to find a seller for less than 3 keys. In a trade server, I'd be laughed at if I tried to sell it for 3 keys, as most trades are around 2 keys, 2 keys + 1 ref maybe.

                  Commentary follows:

I guess it really comes down to, is backpack.tf a buyer's guide? If so, the current price is indeed accurate. You can buy this item for the current price.

Is backpack.tf a seller's suggested price guide? If so, the new suggested price should be accepted, as most sellers are pricing in the range.

I think it's a guide for both. When I want to buy I use this site. Same goes for selling.

I don't think it should show what buyers pay (I buy stuff for less to flip, and don't think my buying price fits the market for average) unless the buyers get flooded. (then it matters) But good to show them.

Sellers are what matter as long as we see what most price their stuff and if they are selling.

Seen these on OP selling for 3 keys. upvote

Upvoted because I have been seeing these sell for a nice amount recently.
