Links 1 and 2: Selling for 6 keys
Link 2: An offer of 5 keys in items
Link 3: An offer of 3 keys + FDU + 1 ref- ~5 keys worth. Also an overpay offer from Dapper Swain, who ended up getting the scarf from another source.
It might be early, but this does need fixing. 5 key offers seem easy to come by, so I put that at the lower range. 6 keys works as top price as, at $7.50 in the store, any higher is less than $1.25 per key
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/6696974 - A 14 ref offer, so another ~5 key offer
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/6688885 Heh. It seems to actually be too early.Actually, seems like a fake trade.
I saw that. Given the quick response and how the trader has not traded and not said anything, I believe it to be a troll trade. Doesn't make sense why anyone would spend $7.50 to promptly turn around and sell for 3 keys after all.
This seems like the good price, for day one anyways.
The most recent price is only 8 hours old, and I don't think "X amount in items" Is a valid way to price things.
It's proving annoyingly difficult to find a craftable one on outpost.
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/6684429 being the only one I could find not listed.
I think 3-3.5 keys would be a good range.
Recent price was made in a kneejerk reaction to store brought items changed to being craftable. It was at 2 buds before, as prior to this change, they were rare glitch items.
Current price was inaccurate the moment it was made, created with no basis in price aside from "it's what uncraftable is at", which is an invalid comparison.
Good point, and I'm able to find trades in the suggested range upon further inspection. Upvoting.
Thanks, Vincent. This looks a bit better, but shouldn't the price have just been cleared, or deleted in the meantime?
Anyway, here's the link for craftable scarves on Outpost if anyone else wants to have a go. Not too many for sale at the moment, it seems: http://www.tf2outpost.com/search/55734892
From my understanding, there was no way to 'clear' a price without losing suggestion history, and Brad didn't want to lose that. Perhaps there's more to it than that, I can't say I know about the techinical side of this site. All in all, it happened very suddenly and at a bad time. The action taken was what he felt was the best solution given the circumstances.
so you yell at me over and over that buyouts dont matter, and then try to prove your point by quoting peoples buyouts?
I swear every time I see you say anything your contradicting yourself vincent.
if this were my suggestion youd have rejected it already, and you know it.
Someone has already recently paid well over 6 keys worth. But since buyouts are at 6, and reasonably so given key worth in cash, that's the ceiling.
people have recently payed several buds... this whole situation only occured a few hours ago.
why are you mentioning buyouts? its your firm opinion that they dont matter... you seemed quite sure of that opinion the last time I tried to convince you otherwise...
The situation has obviously changed since they were going for buds. Context is everything.
Please keep your little quarrel against me to the forums. It has no place here.
As I said, keep it to the forums. This is a price suggestion and not a place to continue our month old argument.
guess im not allowed to express my opinion on your price suggestion either...
this place def seems to value peoples feedback >.>
I left up your comments regarding the price suggestion. It's your insistence on trying to push on our unrelated month old argument from the forums that's the problem.
I think that's enough of your disruptive behaviour for a little while.
The drop from near 2 buds to non craft area seemed a little extreme and rash. Although I understood the need for urgency, since anyone unaware of the update was likely to be screwed relying on this site
Anyways, this seems like a better adjustment for the time being....until these stabilize
Thanks, Vincent
This seems much better than the uncraftable price.
This craftable store bought thing is exactly what happened last year. They changed from untradable to tradable, then from craftable to uncraft. I think this will just for a while.
nah there moving forward, its stupid to sell store items that are uncraftable, im liking this new idea, dont think its temporary sir,
I think it's too early to set a price.
I think this item has always had a set price based on its store value, as it's only obtainable through the store now.
I think if we hold out for longer than a few hours before setting a price we wont encourage idiotic buyouts and fool people into thinking things have a high value (and are likely to continue doing so).
And I think this price voting system will have more integrity for waiting until there is enough evidence.
I literally just saw someone sell this for a Bills on a Trade server. I also saw someone sell it for a Bills on OP.
This isn't the price, just some sharking, but it is worrying about how these are selling for large-ish quantities of keys when it's worth no more than the uncraft version.
And I cannot upvote such a large price on principle. Not without evidence, and not till this all settles down. (Yes, I know it's about current prices, but I don't want to be involved in ripping people off by voting yes on a ridiculous price)
A couple notes. First of all, we can't directly compare it to the uncraft version. Both are $7.50, but the stigma of uncraft can't be discounted. I know for a fact I'll be picking up a craftable version in spite of already owning an uncraft for unifomity sake. There will be many others like myself, and with supply on that front essentially being reset for all intents and purposes, the price cannot said to be the same.
Finally, there is evidence as I've posted below (like system is starting to bury it), and I'm trying to keep on top of it. If I didn't have evidence, I wouldn't have made a suggestion- it's why the Ball-Kicking Boots are being left alone, in spite of its similar situation.
I wouldn't agree on 5-6 keys, maybe 3-5 keys.
It's a shame people are overhyping the uncraftable ones right now, because there are ONLY ~12500 Uncraftable copies...
Let's throw up some math in here. This item costs $7.49 in the store. Giving keys a value of $1.25, it is therefore plausible to give this item a temporary price of 6 keys. 6 keys will be what should be the MAX price the item is worth. Now let's look at other previous store items and see their $/key values. You have ToD Tickets being $1.98 for 1 key worth. You have Backpacks being roughly $1.81 for 1 key worth (using 2.75 keys / backpack @ $4.99). Using these pricing standards, You get a minimum price of 4.13 keys using $1.81 per key.
Therefore, the math shows that the temporary price should be 4-6 keys until we have some actually trade data to base the price off of.
The amount it would cost to get this from the store $7.50
the amount it would cost to purchase the amount of keys to buy at your price $12.50-$15
downvote for lack of common sense, personally i think this items price should be 2 keys max.
People can buy keys from other traders at $1.25. It's why keys are valued at that price on this site. It's why backpack expanders and black paint are worth more than 2 keys in spite of being $5 instore.
i see your logic but i still do not agree, not everyone is willing to buy keys from single traders they are too worried about being scammed,i just dont think an item should be that much more than you could buy it for instore, maybe 2-4 keys max but i think it should just stay slightly above the dirty price for now imo, but then again that is just my opinion.
If anyone has thoughts on what may be a better pricing based on current evidence, I'm more than happy to hear it. 6 is starting to look on the high side, with only one sale really supporting that at this point. I still feel 5 is a good bottom range, offers are getting that high without too much trouble. I almost want to argue 5 flat, but it doesn't seem to be a good idea to not have a range on an item that's still rather volatile.
downvote you can buy them clean in store
I'm confident the one offer that went above 5 keys was an outlier and this range is no longer applicable. Closing.
