Sold mine for 3 keys + 2 ref yesterday. Prices aren't decided by the prices in the mann co store, or keys would be 5 ref each.
The humanity of this update! Its killing me inside...
Edit: Nevermind.. this has nothing to do with it, but its killing me inside.
I think its killing all of us...
It was inevitable though, Once they made all store items tradeable, it was only a matter of time before they made them craftable as well....
They became craftable for the purpose of money, since almost no one every buys things from the mann co store besides keys and other tools. Cept during sales.
This guy know nothing about the actual tf2 economy. With 5 bucks, you can buy 3.8 keys. The 3-4 range is good.
It doesn't work like that...
The worst thing about the new update is how I always tried to stay away from dirty stuff. Now I can only sit and watch as my entire backpack loses half it's value.
It might lose a little bit but I highly doubt it will drop much. 1.33 ref is a pretty solid deal for a craft hat. Most of which are, at minimum, a dollar in the store. If people started flooding the market with bought hats it would drive the value of metal way up (and hats way down) which would quickly cause people to cease buying from the store (since refined metal is considered 50 cents). I don't think this update is going to be nearly as bad as all the doomsdayers are predicting.
cheapest hat is 5$ on the store.
Well there you have it. Why spend 5 bucks on a hat in the store when you can get one for ~65 cents in-game.
Ummm, no, there are a lot of hats for $0.99 such as pyro's beanie and football helmet.
not anymore
This doesn't matter. The majority of keys we buy via paypal are bought for 2.49 with stolen credit cards. It will be interested to see if they continue to just buy keys with the stolen cards or start buying hats as well and flood the market.
All to be determined. But right now, yes, with keys costing around 1.20-1.30, the clean hats are only going to lower the price of some of the more expensive hats. Prices will change slow for the majority of us.
This is not how the site works. Prices are not set based on personal opinions, what you think should happen, or what you want to happen. It is based on what people are currently paying for the item.
Proof is almost always required, and it must show sales that actually went through and not just buyout prices. It is recommended to show plenty of proof, not just one or two links, as those can just be luck.
Please don't make these mistakes again. Thank you.
Allright, im sorry didn't know that,
i thought its ok but guess its not,
well to John... look at what he says ^ it dosent really matter,
im going to keep it open cuz' 50 people already voted for it + i think now it's really over-priced.
thank you for telling me that, Reggiardito.
As they JUST said. It doesn't matter what you think it is. It's what they are selling for.
I like what happened with the Portal 2 soundtrack box and Sneeza's announcement
I guess you don't know about Source OP and how you can buy keys for only $1.20
2.5-3.5 keys is a fairly accurate price and if you were to go by mann co store key prices than 1 key would be about 5-6 ref.
The reason Valve make all Mann Co. purchased hat/misc craftable is to make keys worth more real $. The price of a key will get near 2.5 bucks but not so fast.
Down vote
The economy doesn't work like that. And I looked around outpost there are many buyers at 3 keys.
The average market price is different, at about 1.24 so 4 keys is good.
It rarely goes under 3 keys. The lowest I have bought one at is 2 keys and 2.33. I have purchased around 5 Tuxxies from 3-4.5 keys.
I was buying these for 2 keys 1.33 refined , and selling for 3 keys 1.33 refined.
I bought 2 tuxxies at my price , and waiting 2 more sellers to get online. So far i sold one tuxxie.
Id say that corrent range would be 2.5-4 because thats what they go for
It may need to be lowered to 3 keys soon, but it's still getting offers within current range

Only rarely is there a direct correlation between store price and market price. After all, if you only have 2.49 USD in your wallet you can't buy half of a Tuxxy.
