Yep, I just got one for about $16. That's about 13 keys, people are getting desperate.

Jesus christ. Out of curiosity, does anyone really know why they are dropping at such an alarming rate? It's as if there is word that Valve is going to re-release them.

It's just that people hate the hat, or are waiting for it to go down. Less demand.

For the same reason the price went up in the first place. People were buying for higher because they thought it was going to go higher and that is why the price rose. Now that it appears to be decreasing, people are selling for cheaper and cheaper before the price lowers. It is a vicious cycle that the traders who actually care about the value of the item are fueling.

I think it has to do with a few factors, with the main 2 being 1) that one attempt by that B.M.O.C owners steam group during the summer to inflate the price of them and 2) so many of them are flooding the market in an attempt to get in on the "Christmas craze". Many traders I've seen still have a bad taste in their mouth from that B.M.O.C fiasco, and are still very wary of them, and people keep trying to use them as offers in unusual trades to the point that many unusual owners are starting to reject offers having them unless they count as the "sweets". Also, I think many people are just tired of seeing them all the time, since it's literally impossible to go a few minutes on outpost and bazaar without running into a B.M.O.C trade. The same thing seems to be happening with the festive weapons, both normal and strange, and it may keep going like this until like the week before the Christmas event, but who knows? We'll just have to wait and see.

i see plenty of sales for 16 keys, people like to put up b/o at 20 just because they think christmas will bring up the price, not true. Price is dropping and a ton of people selling

Tons of people are saying "Christmas is coming", and yet they keep dropping. Most people know that the demand is inflated and the only people who actually bought at the inflated prices are traders who wanted to flip around for more.

They were 5 Keys after last Christmas, 8 Keys in July, 24 Keys in September.

Most B.M.O.C. sellers bought them at low price (5-8 Keys).

When they tried to collectively raise price (restrict sales quantity) it works for a while.

Afterwards, some sellers do not follow the agreements and start selling them at Market price - 1 Key.

They can do that because their original cost (5-8 Keys) is far less than [Market price - 1 Key].

Sellers saw each other doing that, thus the crash begins.

Given these have 3 accepted suggestions of consecutively lower in the past 10 days (and this one seems positive too), it looks like Christmas actually came in mid October and we're now almost at Easter.

And yes Christmas means nothing. Plus its fashion, people want what's new and cheap not old and expensive. It is an awesome hat though.

Well, christmas items are going down the toilet. Excellent amount of proof, I did take some time and I saw sellers at 16 keys.
