I can't get the suggestion-comment relationship. What's up with it?
That's what keeps you up at night?
I feel like there was more to this: "People aren't" what? I'm gonna stay up at night wondering what people aren't! :P
I like your proof, upvote.
This... makes no sense. You put up a price suggestion for a crate, and not only do you provide no proof to back up your claim, but you don't even attempt to make a case for yourself with your description. Hell, there isn't even a connection between your description and the crate you are even suggesting.
This is the most decisive downvote I have ever voted on.
Find some humor and come back please.
I don't vote based on humor, I vote based on facts, and this suggestion is a waste. There are plenty of people here who have proved they have better humor than what the suggester has put in; I have gotten plenty of laughs from reading these comments alone because they are genuinely funny; this suggestion itself isn't.
I'm sorry you can't see all the other suggestions that have no proof either AND terrible price points. How are those less "decisive" downvotes than this one? There have been many crate sales such as http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/6123145 or http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/3450956 where people have been buying crates including series #32 for the price range suggested. Just because the proof makes no sense doesn't necessarily mean it's a bad suggestion. I don't know if you were around for this, but when this site first started, there was no place to put any proof except in the comments (And if I remember correctly, there was a time when you couldn't even comment). Most people didn't bother with adding reasoning. Did that make it so every suggestion was denied? No. Same thing here.
Also, I never said you had to downvote or upvote based on whether you found it funny or not. You could find it unfunny and still upvote, or you could find it funny and downvote. The sad thing is that you "vote based on facts" and it seems that you didn't even use facts to decide whether or not to upvote and simply downvoted because OP decided he wanted to be funny. Yeah, maybe you don't like what he did, but does that mean you should downvote without seeing if his suggestion is good or not? If you were knowledgeable and didn't think it was right, then yeah, go ahead and downvote. But don't downvote simply because you didn't like what the OP said; that turns this site into a popularity contest.
I didn't downvote because of what he said; that would be as unjust as voting down on something because I don't agree with the price, like with how the whole situation with keys as of late has been sadly going. If he did show that the crate was going for the suggested price range, then I would definitely upvote since he would have the proof to back it up. But he shows none, and it's not up to the voter to do the research on behalf of the suggester; they need to make an effort as well.
Also your proof doesn't really support his claim either; your first link is a 6 crates :1 scrap deal with only one crate being #32, and in your second link, the crate in question was sold for the current price of 1 scrap. So this is still a downvote for me until proven otherwise.
First of all, the first link was not a very good one, I'll admit. But you can find other trades of crate 32s if you wish. Although just because he had one series 32 in the "Have" boxes doesn't mean he only had one crate #32, obviously Also, you didn't go down further where he listed his trade history on the second link. He sold two 32s and a 25 (price of around a scrap I believe) for 5 scraps total.
You say that you downvoted based on lack of evidence. You downvoted not because of what he said, but what he didn't say. I'm going to reiterate: Before this site became really popular, the suggestion system was primitive. Most people didn't bother with submitting proof because generally people because most people didn't read any of it because of "rep-farming." Nevertheless, suggestions were accepted as per usual. Suggestions such as this one: http://backpack.tf/vote/id/508c3ee249d7b8fa6a000001 on a controversial item like keys, are accepted even without any substantial proof now, with downvotes, signifying that the mods don't care that much about what the OP says, but what the current trends are. I'm sure that whichever mod eventually looks at this suggestion will not care about if the OP said some random stuff about Pyrovision, but rather will care about how accurate the suggestion portrays the current market trends.
Huh, I did not see that trade history part (my eyes can't really register certain colours like that darn green) so I will give you that. However, it doesn't specify if the #32's were sold with the #25 or on their own, which would alter it a bit since he is charging 2 scrap for the #25's so it doesn't really make it definitive if he actually sold the #32's for 5 scraps each or if it was done in a combo trade with crates that were worth more.
Also, I was not a member here during this time when you say suggestions didn't need proof, so perhaps you do have a point there as well, since I do not know what it was like before. However, it is also because I do not know what it was like before that I will still keep my downvote, since I am basing my voting on the experience I have gathered from the time I have been here, and from what I have experienced so far, proof is somewhat mandatory now if we want to try and have even a small margin of convincing the admins that the market is turning in a certain way, or else it is just seen as an opinion, and from what I have seen from this site so far, people seem to believe that opinions alone aren't enough.
I ♥ you. I ♥♥♥ you!
Somebody had to explain what was wrong just in case the OP was serious about this
Like... maybe he posted a beautiful 2000 word essay, full of delicious proof, and he didn't realize it had been cut off at the
Legitimate proof, upvoting this.
