The problem is that none the links have had many offers on them. Looking on Outpost, the same is true, no matter the price. It doesn't seem like there is much of a market for them except in "Salvaged Sets". Gonna stay neutral until you can find better proof. :3
Well I feel that the prices needs to reflect the market. The 7 keys offers have been open for a week with either no offers or unwanted ones. one of the 6 keys has already been closed because it was traded, it was posted 11 hours ago at this point.
Here is the link to the search for S. Widowmakers. Besides the fact that there are a lot of people asking high amounts and getting no offers, the 7 offers are also as dry as the higher numbers. http://www.tf2outpost.com/search/57249143
Here are a few more trades below 7 keys:

I think there's simply no demand for these.
There is, I've seen several closed trades for 6 keys at this point. I just feel that 7 keys it too high for where the supply and demand is.
That's not true at all. There will always be demand for rare items, no matter what the item is really; take vintage scrap for example.
Not the best example, Mojo... There are only 7 Vintage Scrap in existence, while there are 555,970 S. Widowmakers. Although it is from a Salvaged Crate, as an in-game weapon it's not terribly useful, but that's just my opinion. :3
There are 555,970 of any type of widowmakers in existance. There's only 6,111 S.widowmakers.
Vintage scrap may not have been quite the best example, but I used it mainly to prove that even something as seemingly worthless as a scrap can go for 18 buds just because it's rare.
The difference between a vintage scrap and a s windowmaker is misuse.
Scrap is made to be crafted, it wasn't touched for a long time, and it became vintage.
The market is showing that 7 keys plus is too much, no one is buying them. People are buying at 6 keys. So the price show reflect the market, and not the market reflect the price.
lol, you have no idea what you're talking about, sorry. That's not at all how vintage scrap metal came to be.
You'd be correct. :)
Anyways. We aren't talking about vintage scrap, we are talking about the demand for the S. Widowmaker.
xD true, we were. It'll be interesting to see how this suggestion goes though. It needed to be suggested whether it's accepted or not, so all good. ;D
I would say there is some demand for these as they're definitely one of the more effective engie weapons when used properly. However, as with most of the #40 stranges, they're coming down a little due to the hype of crate 50 wearing off now that it's been over a month since it was "supposed" to start dropping.
(IMO, crate 50 won't be a salvaged crate but instead will have something to do with Christmas. But that's just me babbling.)
Exactly, that's why I think the price needs to reflect that.
This price really depends on hype, if crate 50 is coming, people buy it up like hot cakes, with no crate 50 for the past few weeks hopes are falling and so are the value of these stranges. Valve release salvaged crate 50! :D
