yeah i sold mine fr a sf minigun and other sweets around a bud id say
Such a tiny change, is it really necessary?
Exactly- why did the previous user post the adjustment and ask for mods to accept it quickly and it magically was? Should be put back- last adjustment is pointless.
Whats the big deal is what I mean. 0.1 of a bud is less than a 3 key change. In the unusual market that is tiny. The last suggestion might of been pointless but so is this one.
And we're making history in where 2 wrongs do make a right. Just revert it back and problem solved. Not a big deal at all.
It was an aesthetic change - stormy was under blizzard, which is considered a lower tier effect. The price change didn't hurt the price of this, since it's very very close to the original price, but it made it so that stormy was above blizzard, which is how it should be. Like when purple energy is below green energy, which is always incorrect, stormy must be above blizzard (with the exception of themed hats - Ushanka, Tree, Elfin Deal, those hats).
So again, decisions are being made based on random users' opinions regarded as fact.....
It's not an opinion, it's what's generally known to the trading community. That's why the price change was so slight - it didn't hurt the price of the hat, it just made it so that the lists were in the correct order.
So how can there ever be realistic, genuine price movement, if things are being inaccurately adjusted based on "generally known" opinions? Leave it to real world trading instead of biased opinions. You're destroying the integrity of this price guides by changing the prices based on opinions, no matter how "generally" accepted the opinions may be.
I'd rather see 10 links to this hat selling for 1 bud and the price changed to 1 bud, than to see 1 random user saying he doesn't like the effect so it should be worth less than a different effect he likes a little bit more...
Innacurately adjusted? You're acting like he changed the price by a whole bud. This also isn't opinion, it's something agreed upon by most of the unusual community. I know you own one of these, but the price change didn't do shit, It didn't hurt the price of your item, all it did was make the price list for the Otolaryngologist's Mirror look more legitimate. You're calling me biased, yet... You're the one who owns this hat. It honestly just seems like you think you're hurt by the change in price. That's silly. The price is the same either way, but with 1.1-1.4, the list looks more correct. That's all it is.
And also, it's not that he didn't like the look of the EFFECT, the fact that this hat was above the price of a stormy Mirror was just incorrect. Stormy is a higher tier effect, and the price list needed to show that.
Pedro, so things are only worth discussing if the price difference is a bud? And YES it IS an opinion. An opinion = stormy is better than blizzard. That is the textbook definition of an opinion. And I absolute own one of these. But this hasn't made me biased- it has only made me aware. Aware of the ridiculous price manipulation going on. I'm not hurt by the change, as I've said, i'd rather see it legitimately at 1 bud than illegitimately lowered based on random opinion- which is indeed silly. That's all it is.
It's an opinion generally shared by the community... Which needs to be shown. I personally like scorching flames more than burning. But that view isn't commonly shared - which is the key with unusuals. The only things unusuals have are the fact that there are tiers of unusuals, and the effects have tiers too. You can't deny that. Stormy is a higher tier than Blizzardy Storm, and this is a shared thought throughout the community. There is no manipulation going on here, too. I don't understand yet why you are hurt by this .1 bud change. I just don't get what your point is here...
You're arguing about 3 keys. I'm arguing about principle. We're obviously not on the same page.
I'm done here- can only beat a dead horse for so long.
I think it's the opposite... You're the one complaining about the .1 bud change here. I'm trying to help make this site seem legitimate. I agree, we're probably not on the same page, but you know unusuals, and you know the tiers. Your personal unusual tier list might be different than mine, which is different from the rest of the community's, but we have to respect that it is a commonly known fact that Stormy Storm is, for the most part, considered a higher tier effect than Blizzardy Storm. That's all there is to it.
Looking at it, it was suggested because the center price of the 1.1-1.5 buds (Blizzard) was 35.02 keys and the center price of the 1.1-1.4 buds (Stormy) was 35.43 keys. End result being the unusual listings for the Mirror ended up ordering as following:
Searing and above
Stormy Storm Mirror 1.1-1.4 buds (Mid price 35.43 keys)
Blizzardy Storm Mirror 1.1-1.5 buds (Mid price 35.02 keys)
Orbiting Fire Mirror 1.1-1.4 buds (Mid price 34.66 keys)
Bubbling and below
An odd quirk of the system. All in all, he just wanted to force the bug out. Still, it shouldn't have been put through quickly.
I disagree that it shouldn't have been put through quickly. I think aesthetic changes like this are necessary, because they're on such minor price changes (a change of four tenths of a key, here), that it doesn't hurt any price, but it also makes the list and website more valid for unusual owners.
Nothing wrong with aesthetic changes. But it should still go through the same process as any other suggestion.
Anyway, what's done is done. If the community wants it to be put back, that's their prerogative. This one's up to the votes.
But the problem with that is it will get immense, immense amounts of hate from the community. You posted on a purple energy Toque earlier, the guy is just slightly changing the price to make it above green energy and ghosts, which is a correct list. The amount of hate he's getting is insane, and I feel like he shouldn't be put through that because he just wants to make the site more accurate.
haters gona hate bro, its a fact of our society, regardless, haters are alowed a voice, that voice is what drives this great world keeps it toghether and whole :) that voice...is what hummanity is deep down, why would you silcence such a wonderful thing?
I never like to, but when a man unnecessarily garners hatred for something that will help the site, I don't think that's worth it.
Pedro is fighting so hard to support "general opinion" over real trading prices. Why is that? Your so called understanding of the community opinion is what deters realistic price movement. Everyone cries about spreadsheets, yet they don't allow things to happen on their own. Why are you telling people what effects are better? Who are you?
I'm not the one telling people which effects are better. You own unusuals, and you've probably been on unusual servers. You have an idea of which effects are liked more than others. Also, the real trading prices? You're fighting over .1 bud. that's not even half a key. I'm trying to stop the people who say "lol backpack.tf is a joke". Part of the reason people say that is because of times that blizzardy storm is over stormy. When someone sees that, they toss out the legitimacy of the site.
This sort of behavior cannot be accepted from either of the moderators. Practice what you preach. It's funny how everyone going against the previous price suggestion are getting flagged.
EDIT: The reason was NOT becuase blizz was higher that stormy. PLEASE DONT SAY THAT
There was a GLITCH that caused "1.1-1.5 to appear BELOW "1.1-1.4"
Like this:
"1.1-1.4"
"1.1-1.5"
"1.1-1.4"
The point of my suggestion was purely to "force the bug out" as vincent said.
There is absolutely no problem with putting it back the way it was and im GLAD somebody is suggesting it.
Im upvoting
I realize accepting the suggestion so fast was wrong. It was a poor decision on my part, and I can assure you it won't happen again. However, the reason why I accepted it was because stormy was 1-1.4 and blizzard was 1-1.5. However, stormy was still listed higher, despite blizzardy having a higher upper range at the time. I did still go through the regular procedure of checking proof etc though.
Soldier, I'm sorry I'm leaving comments everywhere. I'll leave this one to the vote as it is, and I'll stay neutral. I just hate, as you probably do, when people say "lol you use backpack.tf you noob", and while most of the times, they say that because they want their hat to be higher priced than it actually is (because everyone's greedy), sometimes I feel it's little things like this that make it tough to take the unusual section of this site seriously. We both know that there is a general hierarchy of unusual effects, and in that hierarchy, Blizzardy Storm is below Stormy Storm. If there's a list that has a Blizzardy Storm hat priced above a Stormy Storm version, without any theme whatsoever, it's hard to want to take it seriously.
As I said before though, I'm sorry for the argument, I never meant to lose my cool, as I think I did on this thread. I'll stay neutral on this one, and leave it up to the rest of the community. I hope you can accept my apology.
EDIT: Looks like I was incorrect about the whole reason for the change in the first place. I think I owe a well deserved apology to everyone... I am very sorry. To everyone.
Seems like there should be a better solution to fixing "glitches"
I agree to this.
"I'm arguing about principle." Please provide proof then that this hat is indeed worth the new suggested price or you are just a HYPOCRITE making a new suggestion without proof (the reason why OP is complaining right now)
lol- the old "you're a hypocrite for making a point because your argument goes against what you're arguing about" point. Good one.
Well I'm glad you understand what the word means. You are definitely right about "two wrongs do make a right" if the new suggested price is accepted.
The reason he doesn't need or have proof is because this is what the price was at before there was an unnecessary change in the price that was just a glitch fix. The Glitch fix was considered unnecessary and premature, so right now this suggestion is just an attempt to make everything go back to normal before the mods interfered.
So coming to the conclusion that it was a glitch, maybe the red arrow should be removed, since the price wasn't actually reduced, but just fixed to reflect the current order. Because who wants to buy a hat with a red down arrow next to it? Psychology my friends- nobody likes red down arrows.
yea, definetly need a better solution to the glitch though lol
I agree here. I think aesthetic fixes or glitches like this should be able to be fixed without arrows, which would be a good way of doing it.
Lulz......You idiots are wigging out about a 10th of a bud.......Backs into my suggestion that unless a hat moves .5 bud a price suggestion shouldn't be allowed.
If there was a glitch and a 10th of a bud fixed it, so what. Suggest a new price and move on. All of this for a 2.7 key move.......Lulz.....
