You showed a single trade unsold. Considering your trade was only up for a day, I'm not gonna go with that for evidence. But you didn't earn yourself a downvote, and I'll come back to vote later once your trade has been up longer and maybe more evidence.

I'm trying to sell a few of them for around 2 Weeks now, in dozen of trades.

I sold one for 5 ref, and still have around 3 for 5 ref with no intrest.

Maybe, as a owner of 3 of these, my opinion DOES matter in this case :P

I managed to sell 2 this past week for 2 keys.... but that was before the marketplace.

Let's be honest, if you have 5 ref and want these you're probably going to take a stab at crafting rather than spending another ref.

The wiki lists 35 soldier hats and afaik, only 4 of them (lid, tin pot, and 2 halloween) can't be obtained through crafting. Add 12 craftable miscs. That's 1/43 chance to get the one you want. And since most of the hats (and half of the miscs) are worthless the average expected return on crafting 4 ref and a solly token is probably barely above 2 ref. So, trading the crafted item against the chops is really unlikely.

tl;dr : Only an idiot would try to craft chops rather than just trade for them.
