cmon.. tf2finance? downvote..
What? Tf2finance is the most accurate site that tracks lots of places including tf2outpost, tf2tp and trade servers. What do you mean by "cmon.. tf2finance?"?
Also, did you look at the previous suggestion full of unsold buds at 27 keys?
earbuds are also sold on sites like sourceOP and privately. This is NOT the most accurate way. you honestly have absolutely no proper proof, hence my downvote. its a useful tool, but, no.
tf2finance is still more accurate.
Once again, previous suggestion's proof points it going this way. Still didn't look at it right?
He's just mad cause he has earbuds in his backpack and doesn't like the fact that they're going down in price again.
We're talking about keys, not money -.-
downvoting someone with 4200 rep is a stupid move. Anyway, the crate hype gonna make buds lower(even when these keys cant open new crates) and I saw a few selling for 26 keys.
redacting due to the fact it is obvious i am wholly disagreed with. I do not agree with tf2f being used as the sole price of buds but if the community does then its obvious i better change my opinion for rep. /s
so? do people become immune to downvoting after a certain rep? also, i think reason was steam market opening, not christmas crates.
no but he also provide great proof(which is tffinance) to show that the price of buds has been dropping.
xfuze replied to a thread PAPAH's Rep Thread! in SourceOP Trade Reputation
+rep i bought 5 buds very quick and easy (even though paypal is lame sometimes) will trade with again!

your point?
(oh wow, you can quote rep, you also have the ability to look up when i started cash trading.) i unboxed unusuals earlier than i started cash trading as i did not have a paypal account prior to that start date.
if the price of keys is going up, anything priced in keys should be going down in price relative to keys. downvote
That doesn't make sense. You agree but then suddenly vote against this?
Common tf2 trader....
( the joke is irrational logic)
lol, I read it wrong, thought it was suggesting a 27 key price, when previous was 26-27. changed to an upvote
I kind of agree on this only because I saw finance
But surprising to me. I have gotten 2 buds from today and yesturday. Took them as 27 keys and sold extremely quick at 27 keys. Right after.
I guess if I look around I can see this is true. But I won't waste my time as finance does it much better then any price checker can.
Are we looking at the same graph? Because TF2 finance is showing normal fluctuations between 27 and 28, lowest was 26.5 today only. I don't think that's enough reason to drop the price because I've been trying to buy Earbuds for 26 keys with no luck today at all. Can you show me some evidence that supports the price of 26 keys? Anyone taking more than a few minutes to sell them at that price?
Me agreeing doesn't mean I'm going to sell lower. Im trying for 27 on a pair I recently got
And when I looked it was 26.8
Finance says 27 keys even...
Just sold buds for 27 keys within 6 minutes of posting on outpost @ 27 keys.

Okay I just realized that tf2finance shows 27.1 keys now. I'm gonna wait a day and see if anything changes. If it doesn't go down, I'll close this suggestion.
I guess no one can predict anything...
Maybe just a shock?

So I'm probably reading this wrong, but it would appear that there is still a fair amount of trading being done at both 28 keys and 26 keys which would mean 27 keys is still a good average. Am I right in saying this?
It's very ambiguous and subjective, that is why we never link the price here to the automated system.
Interpretation of a range is an aesthetic interpretation.
Okay, thank you for that response. I find it fascinating how much you know about all this stuff.
sold 2 buds for 27-28 keys
http://tf2finance.com/ currently is 27.31 Keys. Current price is fine. Downvoted.
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/7010300 this person is selling 7 at 27
??? I don't even get where your coming from. 27 Keys is the current listed price on backpack.tf . Your link does not support any sort of price change. I fail to see why you gave me a -1 (which is inappropriate). Please explain as I am prepared to flag you.
what makes you think i flagged you?
It seemed like you did since your post was vague and I have a -1 now. I apologize if it wasn't you, but people keep abusing the flag system and I didn't post anything that would warrant a flag. So I was shocked to see the -1. I'm sure you can understand.
np mate, understood
It's 26.6 keys.
Yeah, prices change every 24hrs. Now my statement is off the mark since this thread is so old. Probably be back up to 27.3 in the next 24hrs lol. :P
this is the problem with changing the value of keys. some people on this site aren't smart enough to make the connection. you can't value something when the value of what it's worth keeps changing...
since keys went up, buds should go down. because keys are a reference to 3 refined metal.
in fact, everything should go down since keys went up. because these should still be worth the same amount of refined metal, they're worth less keys...
therefore i have no choice but to upvote based upon that alone. if you're going to screw with economy, you need to understand the impacts.
No, things are only change like that if keys or buds change in their IRL currency, Keys haven't gone up, Metal has just gone down.
Your logic would only be sound if ref were the standard base currency in tf2. In reality, keys are the more basic currency, and thus the change in ref in relation to keys has little to do with keys in relation to buds.
Think about it this way. People like gift cards and you can often get special deals where gift cards cost less than their face value. Now say suddenly gift cards go from costing $3 per $5 gift card to $4 per $5 gift card. Does that change how much money you'd have to pay for an ounce of gold? No, because the base currency is dollars and the currencies of gift cards and gold both fluctuate in relation to dollars, but not in any meaningful relation to each other.
"keys are a reference to 3 refined metal"
then, if metal went down in relation to keys, this system is still flawed nonetheless. when determining the value of an item a standard must always be taken into account. the values across the board for backpack.tf should simply be in refined.
values should only be determined in keys if it's going to automatically convert the refined to key value depending on the current cost of keys at a time.
there needs to be a specific value in any sort of book value system which does not change.
when you go shopping to buy a loaf of bread, this is like seeing the price listed as 3 eggs. well, uhh...that's great, but how much is that in actual money? it depends on the day i guess ;-). maybe not the best example but you see my point
basically, all items need to be in one single standard, not using multiple standards. otherwise each time you change the value of keys/buds, the values of the items they're referring to is thrown off and people end up paying more than they should or less than they should without even realizing it
posted on outpost for 27, sold within the hour. no need for new price.
From your tf2 finance link:
1 Earbuds = 27.28 Keys

Downvoted.
26 keys is a good price :D
I'm not sure which way to vote..
I haven't been able to buy any from here http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/7013611
And I haven't seen any 26 key traders so I don't really know
Edit:
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/6536915 - 26 keys
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/7021679 - 26 keys
Not voting though, due to tf2 finance at 27 keys
Tf2finance has went back down to 26.91 keys. What are people doing? I'm gonna wait a little more.
i am going to say this. just leave it at 27 keys. because i happened to have gotten a 3rd pair today and i sold it fast.(less then 30 min)
im just think that if it hits 26.4 then do this again
It was 26.66 when I checked just now. I think this suggestion might be safe.
Damn. That's true.
Buds are wierd up and down and up and down all depending of the time of day
Its at 26.71 now, on the rise? lol wierd
Bud prices depend on the time of day. When the US time zones are asleep, they go down. When they get up, they go up.
Goddam 'murican capitalists ruin in' the TF2 economy
Hehe. I would leave the price at 27 for the next couple of days at least.
I see 26 keys being a regular thing. Keys are in high demand for the holidays. Upvoted!
Patience is a virtue.
nah mate, 27 keys is pretty good right now
First try to buy them for 26 keys on outpost and then make stupid suggestions. Downvote
Stupid? Tf2finance would be more accurate than any tf2outpost links would be. Plus, I don't see you providing counter evidence. Don't resort to insults.
Well..the average dropped right now to 26.5 keys. I have to upvote now, although you made this suggestion a day early.
Unsuccessful buying at 26: http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/7042895
Successful in selling at 27: http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/7040915
this is just retarded, people would sell them for less cause they are sure this suggestion will pass. So this means that the suggestion itself is cause of the sudden decrease in value.
IMO admins/mods should change the prices of currency items in secret and then announce it.
I had an add within seconds when buying at 27, i think this price is fair
I think cheaper keys might just mean those willing to pay money for them have easier access to buds now, thanks to the marketplace. So, rising in-game prices have slightly affected the price of buds negatively, but it's perhaps offset by people grabbing cheaper keys off marketplace and trading them for buds.
I know how everyone here loves opinions, so heres mine. :D
Now is a good time to cash out while you still can folks.
This website is expediting the process of the devaluation of refined metal and the inflation of keys. If things continue on as they have been recently, demand for refined/promos will continue to drop and the only thing worth hoarding will be keys. I'm sure many people on this website would love to see this happen, but not me, it's going to ruin the trading economy as we know it.
So ask yourself this before making these kinds of suggestions or even supporting them:
Is the reputation you stand to gain on this website worth screwing the entire economy over?
Heh, nah, fuck off and stop trying to raise the price of these already.
Upvote. These are dropping at the moment.
downvote, this is a cruency item. price should not be varied.
i had to sell mine for 25 keys cuz i couldnt even get 26 keys out of them
So why do you only have 1 key in your inventory?
i sold them all in the community market
I see, you mind posting a screenshot of your inventory history where it shows you selling earbuds for 25 keys recently? If what you are saying is true I don't think its that much to ask.
im trying to but i traded away 3 earbuds for 75 keys, so the entire trade isnt able to be screenshotted cuz it wont fit on one screenshot, what should i do
http://imgur.com/NxbHc
Just out of curiousity how much did you get per key on the steam market?
Tf2finance says 26.42 now. Gonna upvote while it's there.
Bought 1 for 25 keys, also paid in items. Up Vote!
At some point this needs to stop.
Buds are currency, and the price was just changed two days ago.
If you are overvaluing keys and undervaluing promos at the same time the market is going to crash. If this gets accepted then what's next? 25? 24?
It won't stop.
People must realize that by suggesting a price for an item it will in turn change the value of the item. Imagine if a suggestion for buds at 20 keys passed, what do you think would happen to the price? It would drop, eventually down to 20 keys, and not because that's what they are worth, but because that's what people say they are worth.
Think before you suggest guys.
Great. Now TF2Finance is near 26.5 again. :x
27 keys is probably a good midway. They have sold for 26-28 before.
