beastie, you can't base price suggestion over set effect tiers or rarity.
you need actual evidence of them selling for this price, like, have a look on outpost etc. and provide links to where you saw your price being sold :-)
Yes and the only ones on outpost are not even close to your approx. price. Which is even under the offers they are getting. Also until recently it has been 1 of 1 for ages. So you trying to price a 1 of 1 hat trying to get evidence is not going to work :-) Also, that is the only way you can price hats, off rarity and hat tier/effect tier. That is how this game has been operating since the creation of hats.
which is why I closed it
That is good that you closed it.

I call shenanigans! I see this comment many times and it makes me laugh. Let me ask you a question, what's worth more nuts and bolts or energy?
Of course you can price based of effects and rarity. If you don't know that a hearts hat is worth less than an energy hat, you should do more research so that you can prices unusuals effectively...
Pricing by effect tier comparison isn't the best method, although it can provide some insight. The thing is, if for some odd reason, everyone started to love, say g.fetti, and everyone started to hate burning flames on one particular hat, AND there are trades to prove this, then g.fetti would be worth more than burning on that hat alone. So unusual effects can generally be a guide to pricing, but the price should not be based off them alone.
ex. just look at N+B for engy... they're "themed" so they're worth more on him alone
Yeah, but everyone knows the NNB on engie is about the same as energy and flies on sniper is boss too. Those aren't good examples. We are talking energy and hearts on pyro....
Exactly, they are very silly examples.
My dear sharkboy, you have much to learn about berkperk.terf.
I'll leave it here. http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/7010662
Unless there are offers to back up your price suggestion, its better not to set price at all considering you bough for 2/3 the suggested price.
Since when that price was up it was 1 of 1. So if a 1 of 1 hat goes up for 2 scrap on Tf2OP it is worth 2 scrap, when the kid gets sharked they can say "On Tf2OP it goes for 2 scrap!" I know what you mean about derperk.terf. I will leave it at that, basing off tiers has always how you have priced hats, or then kids will come and say "green confetti is the best buy it for 50 buds".
