Prove : http://s8.postimage.org/9f8suq6h1/Untitled_2.jpg
GENIUS! Make the picture tiny!
It's easily readable. Stop being a dick.
Whats wrong with the current range when you say 2.88 is the quick sell price and 3.22 is the quick buy price?
Quick-buy try to buy the key as fast as possible so most of them try to buy at 3.11-3.22 ref (Not 3 ref). And I saw about 5-6 people buying it at 3.22 ref instead of 3.11 ref.
But only few Quick-sell are selling it for 2.88 ref, that's why I set the range to 3-3.22 ref instead of 2.88-3.22 ref.
It is rare to see a trade on outpost for less than 3 refined as of now. :\
Yeah but if you find on trade server, some sellers are selling them for 2.88 ref (But really hard to find)
Considering it's incredibly easy to sell Keys for 3.11 now, I'd have to agree with this raise. Keys are really skyrocketing lately.
I agree, I can't find anyone selling for less.
Almost all the people selling for 3.22 are out of stock. It pains me to say it but i've seen plenty of people asking for 3.33+ and selling at that price. Don't get me started on the ones asking 3.66 :(
Might as well raise the fucking price to 300 ref
That's a little low actually.
that is true
Actually its because of Stream Market prices, keys are cheaper there than store so thats why price in ref rises :/
That aint the reason. Simple fact is key sellers usually buy at pricelist then sell @ higher price for profit. Since people were buying implusively during the halloween update, highballers were actually making healthy profits and decided to pump more metal into key prices. You people then report seeing a higher price , raising the cost of keys. The sellers then adjust the price higher. Then like derps you people get into bubble mentality and start paying higher than you'd normally tolerate cuz you feel you want keys before next increase. Yet you self fulfill you're own fear buy both buyin high then reporting that.
So now 3.33 suggestions around the corner then they sell at 3.66 cuz 3.33 will be easy because you people refuse to take a stand. In the meanwhile I will enjoy how each vote increases the value of my backpack.
I just get them off of the steam market now.
if you're gonna pay $2 you should've got 4 ref on the open market.
Yes, because absolutely everybody has a Paypal account to use.
If you have a means to put money onto your steam wallet you should also be able to open a paypal account.
Teethgrinding agreed. Many 3.33 sellers roaming around. So maybe this will be the next suggestion.
Though funny thing, as you begrudgingly agree, you consent to continuing this madness. You make price 3.33, they sell for 3.66. You report those 3.66 and 4ref is the new price. No matter what you will not pin down the power sellers. First hint of a reversal they will sell off before you vote to lower price. Then you are stuck with declining value item and they go on to inflate the price of the new festives
THANK YOU. SOMEONE WITH SENSE FINALLY EXPLAINS IT BETTER THAN ME. We must take a stand against these prices.
Proof: http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/7088684
We demand lower key prices!
I demand lower dollar prices.
We can't just demand prices, we have to show evidence first that the price is not that high
sellers will always sell keys for above market price. Therefor, the only way to lower prices is to ignore outpost and just lower the price.
Um, that's price manipulation.
There is no reason for the price to go up. People buy keys at 2.88 because it is a reasonable price. Anyone who purchases a key for more than 3 ref is either desperate or doesn't know how to negotiate very well. There may be many sellers who sell keys at 3.11 or 3.22, but there aren't as many buyers. The price shouldn't have been risen in the first place. Price only went up because of greedy people, and if you notice the previous suggestions, they have been having a negative score. I still don't understand why they are accepted anyways. Oh and I'd like to point out you don't have proof, downvote.
Here is your proof: http://www.tf2outpost.com/search/61502604
That is a search for people who are trading keys for metal.
That's a search for people who are selling at high prices. And I don't know if you notice, but don't you see that they aren't selling many keys? People are negotiating the prices simply because the prices are too high.
The proof is in the pudding. Those people negotiating are having there post hidden.
Ok then let me ask you this, why do you want the price of keys to go up? The price of key in the Mann Co. Store hasn't gone up, so why should it's price in metal go up too? Keys have always been in high demand, and just because a handful of people are willing to overpay for an item doesn't mean the price should be risen.
I do not want the price to go up. But I firmly feel that the price should reflect the market, and not the other way around. The price in the man co. store doesn't change because it's with real world money, which is entirely separate from metal. And they have never cared about what a market does, they are still making money regardless of what this market shows.
If people are willing to 'overpay' obviously the suggested price is within reason. If it is over pay, why are people not selling for less than 3 refined. It's because the market has changed.
Listen, I'm going to explain this in as simple a way as possible:
1) Since metal is the base of the economy, to see how it changes in value we use money (USD in my case)
2) Metal has not (or should not have, if it has) ever changed its value in USD.
3) The Mann Co. Store has never changed its value in USD of keys
4) Because of 2 & 3, keys' value in metal should not (nor ever) change
Well, I just wrote a rather long response and my internet pooped, but to sum it up:
All I'm saying is this; the price should reflect the market.
Points 1 and 2 I don't know enough about to comment.
Point 3; steam doesn't care about secondary markets as long as they make money, Keys will probably always be sold for 2.50 there.
Point 4 is ideal, but not true. My proof being last summer the prices where 2.5 to 2.66 refined a key (I bought and sold somewhere in the neighborhood of 500 of them).
The market dictates the price, not vis versa, and it seems a lot of people don't understand that. The proof is in the pudding, people are selling, successfully, at 3.33, 3.22 refined.
At this point I'm done talking about this, because in a few weeks people will be too happy to find prices at 3.33, it's just how it goes.
"People buy keys at 2.88 because it is a reasonable price."
I know well that half a year ago people were saying that about two refined and abused sellers who asked for two and a half.
So your going to raise the price so someone can charge more to raise the price again and keep the loop going? Wow this is amazing! Not really. Evil cycle these keys are on.
IVE BEEN SAYING THIS FOR A MONTH WHEN IT STARTED AND PEOPLE CALLED ME CRAZY. ;_;
Don't worry your not alone.
just prepare yourself man, either Brad Pitt or base64 is going to come in here and slap your shit.
Yeah Yeah yeah. The excuses on the key prices going up. Eventually people will stop pay the high prices for keys.
Both of you are so correct! A vicious cycle of keys is what I've spotted for the past 2 months.
I am glad to see there are sane people in the world.
I stand with you. This is getting out of hand. I see the cycle too.
If a key is 3.22 and ref is 43 cents real money is 1.38. I can buy keys at real money for 1.20 divide by 43 cents =2.79 ref. I play stocks and this looks like pump and dump
this guy, is a fuckin Genius
Keys have risen in real $$$ as well as ref. Even the largest key sellers are selling for 1.25++.(1 of the largest only went up to 1.23)
You can find some $1.20 keys here and there but not like 1 weeks ago. Buds are up as well. 3 large sellers of buds upped their prices. 1 of my guys went up 3 cents per key and .50 per bud for regular buyers and more for everyone else.
Either way it is cheaper than selling for keys but not by a lot cheaper anymore.
dude. you need to make a thread for this. just screw with everyone's brains. then something would have to change price.
Guys, 2 trades buying keys, http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/7085195 http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/7114208 WE DEMAND HIGHER PRICES:D
why in the world would you demand higher prices.
Why in the world would you demand lower prices? its all about economy and profit my friend, by the end of January, everyone will be buying the key for way more, but its all up to destiny, i say higher prices, why, because money;p I got my proofs.
mmm i wonder where this will end. eventually 4 ref, then 5, then 6 etc. I mean that is what u wnt right?
Dont worry mate when that happens, everything will turn to shit. No one can afford it=no one buys=massive price slash.
FREE KEYS FOR EVERYONE! and then the economy crashes and we burn backpack.tf and pour the ashes into a bottomless pit. I really hope it doesnt come to this.
You. Are. Stupid.
Why cant they just go back to 2.33-2.66 ;_;
I miss those days...
The sad thing is, that wasn't years ago... that was last summer. :'(
No the price of keys can't change anymore
plus no proofs so downvote
And purely by this suggestion alone - I blame the surge of people selling keys for 3.33 refined.
Keys need a fixed price. Move it back down to three refined. Its expensive, but its better than the 6 we'll have next year
the thing is, people are now using the Marketplace, and no one is selling keys now but on that mostly, so people that are key warehouses are taking that advantage and make a fuckin huge profit
Meh. I'd take a bet it won't be 6 ref next year.
It is extremely possible to sell keys for 3.22 ref.
I'm voting for this because I've sold many, many keys for 3.22 ref over the last two to three days via my keybanking bot (http://steamcommunity.com/id/KlausKey), and today, as part of an experiment, I also sold many keys for 3.33 ref as well.

Sold 2 keys just now for 3.33 each.

Posting the link to your inventory history does nothing unfortunately, since only you can see it.
Does it really? I was completely unaware of that

Guys. Its people like you who are going to screw the key market over just for more profit. But if that is ur wish so be it.
After January 3rd it's going to crash and it's going to crash hard.
Yeah it will, but shouldn't the price reflect the market?
People pay more for an automated, fast trade.
Check tf2wh.com
you sir are evil, please think about people who with a lot of effort earn 1 refined
1 refined
I deal in unusuals and the key prices rising so much has affected even god-tier trading. Its getting more and more difficult to make a decent deal when prices on the base amount is so greatly inflated. 3 ref is already a ton more than it should cost, I believe if this continues the market will soon snap and there will be a big shortage of buyers, just depends how far more will it rise until the key prices are just too ridiculously high to be worthy of being used as a base currency
If you your a small trader it affects your trading too because basically if you get some refined profits that profit is a lot smaller when you convert your metal to keys which is the base currency, so ye it affects from unusual trading to small trading-
thats what i meant. small increases mainly affect lower tier trading. but it's inflated so much that high tier trading is getting affected too
I also buy and sell a lot of unusuals including God Tier but haven't felt the effects much.
I did however begin to ask for keys as opposed to anything else for "sweets" as I know keys are so high that Im not going to b able to turn the "sweets" into keys easily.
Also key prices are rising for real $$$ so I an flip them quickly if I need more buds etc.
I miss the days where you could buy a key for 2.55-2.66 or sometimes even lower
where is the proof?
Look, guys. I have the solution to lower key prices. ABSOLUTELY NO ONE buys keys for ANY prices until after the year is over. That GUARANTEES lower key prices that you wanted. That being said, while you guys are doing that, I could maliciously snap up the cheaper and cheaper keys. Though the world will end due to key inflation anyways. :'( I BLAME THE KEYS!!!
Why are key prices going up still? This is ridiculous, keys have always been 2.49 on the mann co store and therefore should stay the same price. I remember when they were 2.33 ref.
I remember when a holographic Charizard costed two sandwiches and three sugary treats.
Whatever the guide price is.. the key sellers will always sell for a scrap above, its a never ending cycle.. It doesnt help when the big key sellers are also using scripts on outpost to buy up all the keys at the guide price before other people to make it look as though no one is selling at the suggested values.
Stop inflating! D:
Inflation concerns the whole values of goods on a market. Here, only the price of the keys is rising. This is not an inflation.
Apparently, you are oblivious that just about every single other item is going down in price....
All of this = greed. Everyone on here claims they wish keys would go back to 2.33-2.66 ref. And yet, those same people sell for 3 ref+. You aren't fooling anyone. YOU are the problem. Ya'll are just clawing for every scrap ya'll can get.
sad, really glad I boycotted any sale of keys (for ref) back in halloween :( we can only wait for the imminate crash!
I boycotted keys after halloween. I have bought a single key since the end of October.
and that has had a great effect on the key market.....
it will.When it crashes.
I also dont buy keys for metal anymore, after it had gone up 2.88.I'll gladly buy from 2.66 after the market crash.
The only key I bought since April was a week or two ago, for 2.55 ref from someone I knew (not personally). But, I got a Strange Huntsman from the deal, so... ^.^
I really hate how the market changed because of a few well-known traders slowly boosting the price, then a swarm of little kids followed.
After reading the above comments, i start wonder the function of backpack.tf and the pricelist. Is it showing the buying price that customers demand, the sellling price that sellers and investors sell, or the so called equilibrium price?
Obviously there is a divergence between what the seller and buyer want
Do we need to have a clear definition on that before we make a decision?
( sorry for my poor English as it is not my mother language )
( I am still green in TF2 economy. if the comment make any mistake pls forgive me and tell me )
It shows the average at which most successful trades carry on. Most of the time, suggestions with ranges are prefered to reflect what most buyers and most sellers are pricing items at.
in fact most people buy ni 3 ref and sell in 3.33 including investors. I wonder if backpack have the responsibility to show this price. Concerning the effect of increasing in price indefinitely? should we including the normal price and what the investor demand? those are two different price and customers should know that but not only telling them one price
Indeed you are right, but it would make prices quite difficult to read for the average trader. This price pattern is inspired from the old Spreadsheet that everyone used to look at. It's an average between the real range (which should be 2.88 - 3.66 indeed for keys) and the real average price (3.09 ref).
Maybe putting those prices on a side info box would be a good idea then.
Concerning the effect of such changes on the market, they were proven negligeable by base64 (meaning it's not the main factor of such price fluctuation at all).
I advise to document yourself on the article provided by base64 : http://tf2finance.com/2012_11/
thanks a lot . that's inspiring.
No need to be rude or angry. The comment section is made for debate, not to go on a demonstration or insult people.
I'd recommend around 3.2 ref per key atm.
Keys are inflating but are stabilising slowly due to shear number 400k.
since some lunatics want to increase the price everyday, SELLING ONE KEY FOR 2 KEYS.
Your funny comments are really relevant to a price vote.
Backpack.tf was created to reflect the current market. Can you say that nobody buys keys for 3.22 ref at all?
also the update coming will help to keep keys stable.
it will cause a crash, because backpack.tf will then lower the prices back to something like 3 refined, and then all the key sellers will be fucked, and then backpack.tf will inflate the prices of the new festives...
let's raise the price of the keys every day..(ironic mode), maybe 1 day 1 key gonna cost 4 ref...i prefer buy keys in the steam market instead give my poor metal to a greedy dealer, i sold 3 days before 4 keys for 3.11 and i feel bad about it, so please STOP raise the price based in outpost,
Keys are still 0.80$ cheaper on the regular market (outpost and all) than on the steam market.
Indeed, why people are paying those prices I'll never understand.
Feed the Gabe 2012.
not really, the prices on the steam market have been seen to be equal to 2.77 refined in cash.
Refs are not updated regularly on this site. Keys are still 1.30+$ on Outpost and SourceOP. Keys are 2.08+$ on the steam market. And refs are equal to 0.43+$.
Now calculate by yourself...
I swear there is still peoples selling for 2.88
why just outpost ? why dont you look in the inside game?
Why don't you screenshot these proofs? Everyone actually provided links of actual trades from outpost, why does no one screenshot their BP trade history when they claim to buy for 2.88 on trade servers?
And while you are at it : can I have the IP of this server?
i will actully do show you the history wait
Another key price suggestion. I'm just gonna back the fuck away and vote on some hats instead
what's up with the key prices rising?
So here's a thought, if key prices continue to rise, any price suggestions in key values should be lowered. Just a possibility
If people would just leave the price of keys alone they would stabilize by themselves. People are just selling keys for more because sites like this keep raising the price so people can get away with selling them for more.
Stop raising the price.
Seriously. Every time a suggestion like this is made, key prices go up. It should be the other way around. People need to stop making suggestions based off of a few sellers and then the whole entire fucking market crashes.
The way the price is going im just gonna start buy from the store. We are not to far off now, so why bother. Keys should have never gone over 2.66, just show once one sells everyone thinks they can get it. Such greed.
Just a comment here: I'm having trouble not getting in the key trade. It's so easy to do, and everything, save a couple of craft hats in my bp, is dropping in price because of it. I suppose I am the bringer of my own destruction, but it's the only way I can stay delta neutral at this point.
Bad money drives out good
I predict there will be less and less people selling keys
and soon keys will lose its place as a generally accepted currency
I dont see how the key prices are like this
According to the votes as of today, the price should be 2.88-3
the most recent one (on the 17th) was only 31.07% positive votes and the one before that (on the 15th) was only 45.17
Perhaps we should treat votes like those in congress (By that i mean 2/3 vote or higher) or at least majority.
except backpack.tf is designed for accuracy and people vote for what they want to see as opposed to what they actually see. So it's up to the admins to approve or disapprove of suggestions with the intent of making backpack as accurate as possible, but whether or not the admins are doing a good job or have too much power is debatable.
I agree.. the minimum price on average now should be the low 3 Ref. Like it or not, that is the going rate. So many servers with active buyers for 3 Ref Keys. Call these people desperate or not, but they are the buyers. Are they buying much at 3 Ref? Not really. At 3.11 there may be some bite. At 3.22 more likely than not. At 3.33, for sure someone will sell.
I personally wouldn't even waste my time selling them at 3 Ref right now since there are so many active buyers.. I don't need anymore Metal... what is the point.
Also you can't value the 1.20 Outside Market/Steam key prices since majority of the players don't use that system to get keys. Are they out of the loop? Yes. But a lot more players would rather have the piece of mind in paying the 2 bucks on the Market, or even sillier, the 2.49 in the Mann store.
The low price is dictated by the majority of the "BUYERS" market. If buyers are still actively buying at 3 Ref, how can it be lower at 2.88? That doesn't make any sense since the sellers would of course sell it to the 3 ref people.. which there are a ton of them out there.
Sell me all of your keys at 2.88 If you feel that is the "selling" price, and I'll be glad to take all of the keys off your hands and sell it to the 3 Ref people.
Another noob suggesting keys go up
The only reason keys are selling for this price is because ppl Are greedy and know others want them u hav to be retarded not to know that all peoplw who upvote this i hav lost all my respect for
Does no one realize keys are being artificially inflated by outpost users, and as soon as people start buying them, they get few buyers and people use that as proof to raise key prices, and the cycle viciously continues. The last key voting has -357 score, yet was accepted, what's even the point when people with bad proofs are still getting them accepted and the prices of keys continue to inflate.
I pointed this out several times. The mods don't believe me.
Mods tend to overrule people on currency changes because so many of you press that 'x' just because you want prices to go down. Backpack.tf tries to reflect the current market.
thats what im puzzled about, when key voting has -357 score why are the admins still accepting them?
Buying for 3.22 http://www.reddit.com/r/tf2trade/comments/154q74/h_100_ref_w_buying_keys_322_each_add_me_please/
Bought for 3.22 http://www.reddit.com/r/tf2trade/comments/154r8v/h_39_ref_w_keys_at_322_ref_each/
Thing is be ready to put the range to 3.33 as well.
3.33 ref I found only Seller, not Buyer anymore.
you disgust me, you disgusting inflator, you don't have empathy, you don't have feelings, please have empathy with poor players, if you have a bunch of items good for you, but YOU CAN'T do this to players that don't have credit cards or time to earn items, i really want items but i can't and you
YOU HIGHBALLER, you are the problem
Says a guy with f*cking GAZILLION keys in his BP. You are exactly the damn cancer that caused this all mess to begin with.
I will keep saying this to every f*cking greedy price manipulator here.
BTW, you should change your name to "The Greedyl" you disgusting piece of ****.
I don't sell keys for ref. I buy them for ref and its hard to find sellers with stock selling at a 3 or 3.11 ref
Also why dont you post from your main account when you are so quick to call names, abuse and rage.
Uhm, how is him showing proof make him a price manipulator? If you were trying to force the price to go down you could be called the price manipulator. Don't be so abusive please.
Keys are currency, most people have them just so that they dont have to have a billion ref clogging up their BP. Also can somebody ban this guy for his alt?
I think keys should be around 2.66 ref
The key demand hasn't risen for 3 days now. backpack.tf is just 3 days behind..so once bacpack.tf reaches 3.33 it should stay there for a while
Says a guy with f*cking GAZILLION keys in his BP. You are exactly the damn cancer that caused this all mess to begin with.
omg nooooooooooooooooooooo
Outpost users are ruining, or even manipulating the economy, this is madness
key buyers will be extinguished
i agree, i haven't bought keys since just after halloween
I just wish it was back to lower than 3 ref, I mean, why raise the price on a product that's infinite in supply
I'm afraid the only way this madness can stop... Is that the mods on TF2Autpost actually enforce stable key prices. (Highly unlikely)
Enforce prices in a free market like this one? Not gonna go over too well.
People would just stop using TF2outpost.
Yeah, which is why I mentioned it was highly unlikely.
The only way this madness will stop is when people stop buying keys. I just sold nearly every key I have at 3.33 ref. I sell them there because people buy them, and more than that it's damn hard to stop from selling out at 3.33
Where are you finding these people? I have not seen a single person buy for 3.33 other than a few desperate buyers.
I literally just sold 16 keys to a fellow over TF2OP
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/7099165
Thats my trade, most people just add me to trade, but a few left comments.
http://steamcommunity.com/id/jdr-terminal/inventoryhistory/
Thats my trade history, feel free to look through there, should be a number of trades showing people buying keys from me at 3.33
tf2finance has been hovering very steadily around the 3.11 average for the past day. This does seem to be the most accurate range at the moment.
Wouldn't mind giving it more time to see if it's actually stabilizing there though, but that's just me.
Well that's just because of this recent madness. Taking in to note of how many weapons it's required to craft a refined and the real money value of refined, keys should NEVER be over 2.88 ref in value. Some key price manipulators here are in for a rough ride and I really hope it kills them.
Hahah, apparently some key manipulator is giving me negative votes cuz I'm killing his greedy business :---DDD
You will never win.
Just keep downvoting ANY trader who keeps manipulating the price higher and who has more than 10 keys in his BP.
Of course the ones who have the keys will ALWAYS vote for more increase and when someone dumb enough buys from them for that overpriced price, THEY will also keep voting for higher key price because then THEY will want profit for their already overpriced keys.
You have to understand that it's a self-enforcing feedback loop for key buyers AND key sellers.
What about BMOCs and buds going low?
What do you mean "going low"? BMOCs were artificially manipulated higher in the past.
And buds?
In fact, I'm trying think like you about when it comes to buds prices. And I can't.
well buds go down every holiday never fails, even during unimportant ones it'll go down 1 or 2
On your first point: Think man. Why would you want to expand your keys into a whole load of metal? Why would you pay metal for stuff like a big kill when using keys makes it so much more convenient.
Next, why are you saying that people are manipulating the prices? Do you know how to use that word? Here's a guide to some commonly misused words in this mayhem. http://steamcommunity.com/groups/meetthestats/discussions/0/846940247671000891
People here are providing proof of the prices rising and you make baseless accusations that they are manipulating the price? I don't know, maybe you are in denial.
Also, backpack.tf is supposed to be showing true market prices. If the moderators decide to close suggestions that raise the price of keys in order to make their prices stay low, THAT would be price manipulation. Another thing, I'm not sure that the key prices on this site greatly influence their market price. http://tf2finance.com/2012_11/
-------- Explanation by base64 --------
Manipulation
Definition: To affect, alone or with 1 or more other persons, a series of transacted for the purpose of inducing the purchase or sale of such assets by others.
That means fake trades, trading at a loss to create false market signals, spreading false information.
Incorrect Usage: The majority of traders manipulated the market by buying up the market.
Correct Usage: A small group of traders made fake offers and fake trades, deceiving the rest of the market and the price guides.
I love how you are complaining about key manipulation, and then you suggest people to try to manipulate the price of keys "keep downvoting any trader who keeps manipulating the price higher". Nobody is manipulating prices, you just do not know what you are talking about.
Oh, and being abusive isn't gonna help anyone here. I hope you and your main account get what you deserve in the end.
Because of this Market beta keys are skyrocketing and buds are lowering. @SMARTALEC10 is pretty much right. Keys should go back down toat the least of 2.66. It helps balance things for people. I can't make any metal anymore because i cannot buy keys for cheap. This is getting really bad after each day.
I'm surprised people can't see how ridic this is by just looking at the alternate/past suggestions.

So how long is this gonna carry on? That people are going to want to increase the price by a rec or 2 every couple of days, we'll be at 10 ref in no time. Also it's not giving the price time to normalize, people are buying fast at these prices because they know they're gonna go up again at least once in the next week.
People buy at the price because that's the price. You can't say "well people are buying them at the price we tell them it is I guess we have to put up the prices", that'd be endless and on that logic we'd eventually be paying a bud for a key.
BPTF does not tell a price to sellers. It reports prices keys are actually going for. Look, key prices are steady now at 3.1 ref, even if the price got increased on BPTF. This site has a very minor influence on all of that.
if you says people a price. They have a baseline to sell above on.Backpack.tf or tf2spreadsheet should not list key prices, since theese sites are manipulating prices to increase involuntarily.
> the site has a very minor influence on all of that
bullshit.
No. These sites are not manipulating anything, no one is manipulating anything. The key market is just to big for a small group, or 2 websites to have a littl influence on all that ( studied and calculated here : http://tf2finance.com/2012_11/ )
They do have influence, people check Backpack.tf for their prices then want to charge extra so they're making a profit. People buy at the inflated price because everyone is doing it and so people find that's evidence enough to put the price up again.
Or people sell for the price stated here and people buy it, cause it's the price stated here and they know that's the price or because they want their keys before the price rises again...it does influence a lot, otherwise there wouldn't even be voting on prices, the prices would be the average, not what people feel it should be.
Well prove me wrong, I proved myself right down here.
Shit like this is the reason y i don't buy keys with metal anymore, you guys are greedy and horrible and i hope this rediculous pathetic key hype is over, cause this is WAYY out of hand, also there is 2-3 times as many keys now as there was back when they were 2.33.
It amazes me the lack of people on here who don't understand fundamental economics. As long as there is a lasting amount of people willing and able to buy for a certain price, then the price will remain the same. Lowering the price will never be possible unless people suddenly stop buying for these prices that are causing the price of keys to continue to rise.
how easy can you change the price in bp.tf?post some highballers's trade as proof then the price rises.voters should use their eyes and look clearly
I won't be surprised if keys go up to 4 refined by jan2013.
Seriously guys stop voting on keys ... TF2outpost is not a real reference: it's an ongoing inflation there, and if you comment on an unfair price you get banned lol
And Please do not vote on something you already own .. even if you have only one key.
It will never be objective
Seriously? Keys are a currency. Why would you want to expand your keys to a shitton of metal? Just because you have a currency means you shouldn't vote on it? What logic is that?
inflators ¬¬
there some people that with a lot of effort they earn enough metal to buy keys, and you inflate the prices, please have empathy with people that don't have credit card and with luck they have around 3-4 hats
Think about it: When has trading ever had empathy? When I started I had to fight my way up myself.
Next, this site is about giving accurate true market prices, not controlling the price to be low just because you have empathy for poor traders. That would be manipulation, wouldn't it?
Yes it would be manipulating the price. Can you say hypocrites?

Another one, just accept this price..The range could be 3 - 3,33 but nvm..i sold a lot of them for 3,33 each..
we'll NEVER accept that highballer price, if you wanna sell keys at that price do it, i will buy keys in normal servers and not outpost because you ruined it, so you can shove your highballer prices up your asses hypocrites
I've been trying really hard not to close this and give it all the time it needed. I have bought at least 15 in the past 24 hours ranging between 3 and 3.11 ref. I think this price change is slightly too early. 2 days have passed since it was suggested, a new suggestion will be needed if the trend continues but for now, the current price is still sufficient. We'll see what the christmas update of tonight changes.
