Can barely find anyone selling less then 3.33

Plenty of sellers at 3.22, but also plenty at 3.33

There are just so many people readily to pay 3.11 that buying them now at that price is extremly rare
I'm in the list of 3.11 buyers
:) free advertisement. you're welcome.
http://tf2finance.com/keys/
The average is still in the current range. Unless that changes, I'm downvoting.
I wish nobody could touch the prices of keys and prices were just based on tf2finance.
yeah this is pretty sure i sold 1 key for 3.22 under 5 mins and brought a key for a scrap or 2 cheaper so i could resell at a higher price easy like 3.22 again
"Hey remember when keys were only 3 ref? I can't even find keys for under 12 ref!"
"I know bro, that was two days ago."
"no."
more like 9 days ago
I don't know why I was upvoted so much for my stupid little epic poem.
internal rhyme in first and second line, with an end rhyme at the third. Each section with an iambic hendecameter i think. May need some confirming.
Turns out I was a poetic prodigy the entire time. An unexpected turn of events!
I remember when they were 2.66 ref.
Good times :(
you were a poet and you didn't even know it
Sad but true. Buyers look for 3 ref as a quickbuy, most people (try to) sell for 3.33. This marks a good median.
Do it, increase it more, whats next 3.33? then 3.44......this needs to stop, people always try to sell a bit higher than the current price, once its 3.22 people will sell it for 3.33 and it goes on...Key's price should be fixed, it should be like the currency of tf2. Since this wont stop anytime soon, its better to buy them from the store or the market.
Did you ever read this by our beloved Sir Jon ? http://steamcommunity.com/groups/meetthestats/discussions/0/846940247663550193/
The main reason the price of key increased is because of the lost of 10000+ keys during the mass uncrating of halloween. Steam Market is reducing the amount of keys introduced into the market and increasing the value of keys By buying keys from the market, the supply will stay the same but the demand will rise higher and higher thus making the price keep going up. The only way to lower the price of keys is waiting until the supply is back to before.
I'm sorry but that's not true. I registered the number of keys on the october 26th to october 28th, and there was roughly 340,000 keys, and the price was below 3 refs. Now there are almost 395,000 keys and the price ir OVER 3 refs.
Economics 101 no longer apply to Team Fortress :/
The value of keys should be set based on what the market trends are, not what the community wants the price of keys to be. I'm not going to say if I support or don't support this suggestion, but you shouldn't downvote just because you don't like what the price of keys is. The problem is that the price of keys really isn't changing; the price of metal is going down because of mass idling.
well... i really hate the key inflation because yes....
He hates to do this, yet he has 181 keys in his backpack.
Because you can find keys for easily for 3 refined.
and 3.11 is still within the price range.
But 3 ref is no longer, needs to be updated.
i got 20+ keys in the last two days at 3. i even got a seller selling at 2.88 its really not hard to find 3 ref sellers.
I had 181 keys in my backpack because I was looking to cash out...until steamguard stopped me from doing so.
Yeah not hard to sell for 3.33. I'm definitely considering starting to buy at 3.22 because 3.11 just doesn't really fly on outpost or trade servers.
More proof since you guys are really mad.

definitely there aren t any sellers for 3 refs so trade server seem like best way to get them.
but why not to wait?
i think people only buy at crazy prices because they think they will rise. soon it will be imposible to get key for 3.33 and this is really a problem
btw refs will loose worth and all items with price in keys will rise. we have to stop this
lol, too bad people don't want to stop it and are willing to pay for more. Perhaps 3.33 is possible for the price of keys in the future but currently 3.33 is pretty hard to sell
No, they're still an easy buy at 3 ref on trade servers
go buy some and show me the history. and trade servers, lol.
I have no need for keys and no ref right now so no, I won't.
I'm not sure why you're saying 'trade servers, lol'. Believe it or not, people actually trade in-game sometimes. I've spent a lot of time in-game in the last few days and 3 ref is the accepted price of keys there.
Actually I'm not sure why you're even making a suggestion, you can't trade so what experience have you had? If you can't trade I assume you haven't joined any trade servers recently anyway so there's no way you could know what price they go for there.
There are more places to trade than on outpost, kiddo.
It just so hard to talk to immature kids playing team fortress 2. Why does it matter or not if I am able to trade(Second time someone argue that I can't trade so I don't know the price which make me lol). Since you blatantly ignore around 30 links I posted up there, why should I care about what you say when you couldn't even back it up with some proof of trading history or picture of the trade server. I have over 2500 rep on backpack.tf so I am pretty sure how to trade and where to trade :)
You can post 200 more links of buyers at 3.11 if you want but if they're still an easy buy at 3 ref on servers then it shouldn't be removed from the range.
I have a fair bit of difficulty taking any suggestion seriously from someone who thinks in-game trading is irrelevant.
You could have just said, "I don't have any evidence."
me or MICK ?
Not you. :P
I feel this pricing system is slightly flawed in that it's sort of helping along the rising value of keys.
Because keys are desirable, traders are able to raise the price of their keys slightly above the backpack.tf or spreadsheet price. So I can't help thinking that this constantly updating price isn't reflecting the prices, but actually making an impact on them quicker than is natural. Then again what's natural?
Can't help but feel that with suggestions like this it also becomes a self fulfilling prophecy, as people read the votes, decide keys are probably raising in price, then raise the price of their own. Then this provides evidence for a price raise and so on. Meaning the market changes as everyone else follows along.
Keys are desirable, yes but you should read this to understand why keys are actually rising in price: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/meetthestats/discussions/0/846940247663550193/
TL;DR:
1. 10000 keys lost during the halloween unbox which decline the supply.
2. No one want to pay $2.5 steam wallet when they can buy one for $1.89
3.Steam Market is reducing the amount of keys introduced into the market and increasing the value of keys
Don't claim key supply as a reason, in may there were ~250,000 keys in existence and now there's nearly 400,000. If supply was a driving force behind key prices we'd be complaining about 1ref keys right now.
There are two reason key prices are changing:
1. Refined metal is deflating and becoming cheaper
2. Sites like backpack.tf increase their price based on key sellers on outpost, who then charge backpack's new price +1 scrap and the whole cycle repeats.
I realize key prices will always inflate (gradually) but there is no reason for them to have increased by a scrap in a week.
"In May there were 250,000 keys." Well, the supply of keys gradually will increase but since it dropped so suddendly during the halloween, it causes a spike. Also, refined metal are becoming too much with weapons dropping every single day and so overtime, it lower the value of refined metal.
Thanks, a useful read that.
And my point is also sort of listed there. I'm not blaming backpack.tf I'm just saying that I wish it wasn't such a great tool for greedy hoarders who want to keep asking for more and more. Unnaproved Key suggestions with some proof probably don't need an admin tick, they're probably already being used as a new price. No way to change that I guess, Oh well.
bigbatteh -- Touché.
WHO IN THE HELL HAS SAID THIS SINCE HALLOWEEN?! HELLO! ME! I love how everyone is finally catching on.
Proof me these can't be bought at 3 ref
Because I sure buy them for 3 ref. And outpost is not the only trading place. Downvoted.
Well, I just showed you proof of:
1. Tons of buyers paying 3.11 for a key
2. Some buyers paying 3.22 for a key
3. Successfully sellers selling at 3.33
I didn't link sellers trade at 3.11 because they are gone instantly. INSTANTLY.
1. 3.11 is within the range
2. 3.22 buyers are rare
3. People have been selling for 3.33, but people have also been buying keys for 3 ref or less. If you want to suggest that, then make a new suggestion with another range where 3.33 ref is included. Also tf2finance still shows 3 ref average.
1. TF2finance doesn't show a 3 ref average ? and with around 40+ trades buying at 3.11(I didn't list them all), the chance a buyer is able to get ahold of one is very small. and no, 2. 3.22 buyers is not rare at all if you make your own trades and selling them at 3.22.
3. People have been selling for 3.33 but that price go slowly so I making it 3.22 since it the price that the key will go instantly.
I looked closer it says 3.08 refined. Still its within the range.
But sir, I don't want my porridge to go up in price again ._.
remember when u could get keys for 2.33.
like, one year ago ?
when keys were priced at 2.55 u could if u really tried
petridge farm rembers...
stop the economy, i want to get off
Considering how many weapons it takes to scrap to make the metal to get a key almost makes the game not worth playing. Does anyone know who runs the market? Who run's the numbers? *I say a key is worth an entire backpack slot regardless on the items in it. Any one here go to college for economics? (*Sarcasm)
Your logic is flaw, your sarcasm is bad.
1. There are two reason keys' price rise. First, the halloween mass uncrating took away 10000 keys which limited the supply. Second, there are many idlers now and getting weapons is not hard at all if you run 20-30 accounts per day and receive and average of 10 weapons per week per account.
2. The people run the market. The people run the power. The price change when the majority of people agree to pay at that price.
3. Yes, yes we do..
I bought a key for 2.66 on a server two days ago (which is good because I refuse to buy keys for more), but than again that was only one person...
In my opinion this key inflation is getting out of hand...
more like the metal declination.
Metal declination is an excuse, not a reason. You have all of these keys in your backpack, so right now, anything you say to support your suggestion pretty much comes off as an excuse to get more bang for your buck. When the naughty keys turn into normal keys around the 3rd or 4th, there will be a definitive increase of keys. The price of the key will crash hard along with it
lol mate, did you even see my names and my trades on outpost ? It say "Can't trade, don't add me" for a freaking reason.
and why the hell should I need to change it to metal when I can use it to buy promos.
Metal declination is an reason. If you didn't know, idlers are now more and more common and the amount of metal increase way more than the amount of keys daily. Just like the old time when keys used to be 2-2.33, the increase of metal made it into 2.66. Btw, no such bs as keys crashing. Everybody want/need keys so...
You just want people to pay your prices, and this site is your avenue to do so. When the key market crashes, you will be among the people responsible for the crash. And do not give me any more devaluing of ref, supply and demand You just want this price to rise under the hype of the Christmas event so you can unload your keys before the key price drops. Isn't it wonderful that you are doing this while everyone is going after naughty keys? Oh so smart of you.
Key sellers like you are the reason why key prices are out of hand.
Lol, why are you keep calling me key sellers when I am not even selling keys. I can't even fucking trade currently due to steamguard. And I have so many keys because I was looking to cash out.
And how do you know keys gonna crash when it is the #1 currency.
Add me to the list of 3.22 buyers, looking rough right now

All new links. No links from the other two proof posts I posted. Showing that many people are readily to trade between 3.11-3.22
;_; I cry every time ;(
JUST MAKE THE FUCKING KEY WORTH 5 HOUWARS!!!!
too low.
Also, making the prices rise isn't really helping. What happens is that when the key is like 3.11-3.22 ref, people will sell 1 scrap more than the max value, 3.33. And then people like you come in, make the price 1 scrap bigger, and the get get sold for 2.44. We have to stop this. This is madness. Why not get all prices in refined metal, not keys? Eg. Kringle collection won't be 3 keys, but 8 ref. That would make everything easier, as 1 ref is always 1 ref.
And its all because of halloween and the new unusual effects
From what I've personally seen from outpost I'd say this range is much better
I've had multiple sales of 3.11 which ended in less than a minute (10-20+ keys each time)

I called this shit at the end of halloween when I noticed yall kept raising the prices even after the halloween event ended. I got downvoted like crazy for claiming keys would be 3.22ref by Christmas when you people keep changing the prices and giving sellers an excuse to raise their rates. Shame on the lot of you.
The average on the steam market it 3.06 ref so the current range is fine.
because it involve cash and from cash to metal is very vary
it has been lile that for a while
and now, the amount of metal are now way too much due to idlers so now price of it need to drop
your proof is amazing, I didnt knew so many ppl where buying for 3.22.

I put up a trade for 3.22. I got insta-added by 4 people. Upvote for sure.
