no offense but the previous suggestion of 2.5-3.3 bud offer has ridiculous proof.
1st off NO EVIDENCE OF THE HAT BEING SOLD. Emphasis with caps hope I didn’t shatter ur ears >.>
2nd his evidenced is based off of offers that have not been accepted. If such evidence is valid why cant evidence of based solely of b/o become accepted?
EX: a particular Halloween effect hat has been sold for 3.5-4 buds in the past but currently the few people selling it on the market hv set their b/o at 6-8 buds claiming that it is very rare. Will it Be acceptable to but that as proof to raise the price from 3.5-4 to around 6 buds just because of the b/o?
3rd the highest offer is 3.7 buds this automatically BEATS all the lower offers as the smartest thing to do is to take the highest offer.
Base on logic the evidence supporting the suggestion of 2.5 -3.3 is ridiculous. If I and a bunch of my friends offered 1 buds to 2 buds will the price drop for 2.5 -3.3 to 1.5-2.5 just because there were a bunch of low balls? No…
Such follies are undermining the respectable prices on tf2 backpacks that many traders have put their trust into and the definition of “ acceptable evidence”. I suggest that the price should be taken down and be put into voting again. A price for this hat can not be established with honesty and integrity until at least one bubbling muffs has been sold.
Seems like predict.tf is becoming real.
Exactly my opinion, an item needs to sell at least once for a price point to be established. All the pricing suggestions, accepted or not, should be removed until this hat gets sold.
It seems absurd that a price can be set only based on buyers, while in practice it's the seller who has the power to sell or not. Without the evidence of a transaction, the principle of voting is completely flawed since it's entirely controlled by buyers who obviously will want the price to be as low as possible.
In the end, is backpack.tf reporting the value of transactions or predicting/influencing what the value of transactions should be ?
All correct. But a price was set so we need to corret it as good as possible.
A hat does not need to sell for a price to be set. Offers are enough if enough time passes. I admit 1 week is not a lot of time and it did receive a lot of offers in that short period, so a price increase to offset those facts is fine by me.
Current price is too low, that's right. But that ~3.7 pure offer is not longer valid because he bought a smoking one for that. I agree with Awesome that the price should be something like 3.3-3.7 because the veil and the swagman are not pure. I would trade it for the bubbling veil instantly btw.
Still neutral.~
Actually he didnt buy a smoking for 3.7 he paid closer to 6
Yeah could be right, I just saw a smoking one in his backpack.^^
It's always hard to say what a hat's price should be in the unusual market, since traders will always want to get it at the lowest price. The right buyer, the one who wants the hat for gameplay, is really the one making the price.
And often with unusuals the challenge is to find the right buyer. Most offers from traders mean absolutely nothing.
So unusual market is not fitting well into a majority vote system, since by nature it's not a commodity but a luxury which rarity and desirability decides the value.
Well that's somewhat ture too. But with posting it here, many people can post their thoughts and researches and together we can get an accurate price.~
