For full disclosure:

Yes, i do own 1 of these and yes, i'd like to trade it for something a bit more valuable.

However, i find it odd that, despite of backpack.tf's suggestion, people are willing to pay more than just the regular craft-hat value, going so far as a key.

It might be due to the fact, that this spreadsheet suggest the value of a key:

I don't know, which suggestion for the bongos is older.

Apperantly, the latter is (obviously) more appreciated by sellers but i wouldn't go so far and change it from 1.33 to a key without risking a s#!tstorm on me.

A range from 1.66 to 2.33 seems to be reasonable for both sellers and buyers alike.

This is my very first price suggestion. I've looked through numerous suggestions to prevent as much newbie mistakes as possible.

Please be so kind and don't yell at me for being stupid but help me to clarify my mistakes.

Well done, kind gent. No mistakes here (except maybe unnecessarily pointing out you own one), this entire suggestion is well backed and well provided for. I upvote.

Well, if i don't do it preventive, someone else might have pointed it out and we all know how that looks like: "Hold on, a new guy, suggestion a higher price AND has the item in his BP?! What could he possibly be plannin' ?"

Anyway, thanks for the upvote. :oD

Finally, a newer(ish) person that doesn't post troll suggestions!

Nice job on the proof, solid upvote from me.

        Great proof. Have an upvote

        Downvoted.

Not only is that a huge price range, but I highly doubt many people bought these at the prices that are listed in those trades.

If you look at the item histories for the first two trades listed, the transactions probably did not occur with the advertised price:

        Reselling the Bongos for 1.33:

        http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/7672316

Has a listing for buying miscs at Backpack.tf prices (1.33). It is possible the seller contacted the buyer, not the other way around:

        http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/6766630

In addition, demand for the item is extremely low, with not even a full page worth of listings:

        http://www.tf2outpost.com/search/67124857

        Sold for 0.66:

        http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/6083012

        Sold for 1.33:

        http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/6123331

The listings on Outpost are higher because Spreadsheet has it listed as 1 key. However, since the item is not in demand, the listings on Outpost accumulate and stay open with no takers.

I kind of agree. I buy craft hat at 1.22 (No hating). And Ive had several people add me to sell burning bongos at 1.22. So Im staying neutral.

            Same here.

Tried to sell them at 1.66 anf failed, treat them as craft hats since then >.>

I am fully aware that personal trades or experience do not count as proof in any way whatsoever but i'd like to point out, that i've traded my bongos + 1reclaimed for a cool breeze:

          http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/7682333

I have no idea, wheather the owner of the cool breeze just wanted to get rid of it/trade for an item, he was more interested in, has a very generous personality or considered the bongos to be more worth, than just a craft-hat.

I think, what i'm tryin' to say is: Even if my price range can be considered as too high and downvote, i still do believe the burning bongos deserve a little bit more credit, than they do now.

I had no trouble finding these below 2.33 refined.
