yesterday my friend asked to buy one for him. I made trade where oferred 1,66 for it and in less than 5 minutes somebody added me and sold it.

When did they become 2 ref?

Just bought mine for 2 Ref, there were very few 1.66 and 1.88 offers but they sold immediately. Almost all are for sale for 2 Ref and yes it takes time to sell it, but I'm afraid that is the realistic price here. You have examples of people selling at 2 Ref, but where is the examples of it selling successfully for 1.66???

well, i dont think most people can afford the s festive axtinguisher rigth now. its not something like the s huntsman and sf huntsman, both are high tier stranges that have suffered from a symbiotic price change. but with regular s axts, being so far away from their festive counterpart, and not being in any way as limited as them, the price of the SF axt shouldnt affect the regular one

Keep in mind the last two links sold 5 months ago. Other proof is fairly solid, though.

Just leavin' this little tidbit here. Just sold one of mine for 2 ref. Wasn't looking for metal but that's what I got out of it.

My 2cents? 2 ref is still do-able although it may not be as easy as it was a month or so ago. It's still within the current range so I'd leave well enough alone.

If I get some time today I'll see if I can find some links to recent completed trades.

So you think an item worth 1.66-2 ref is being pushed down by the demand of its strange festive version that is 6-7 keys with a limited supply? Your logic is overwhelming...

Yes that is what I'm saying. People want strange versions of their items, and will want the S. festive version more. You're assuming people will stay away because of the price. Look what happened to the S. Huntsman, it went down about 3 or 4 keys since the S. Festive huntsman was released. Although they are both expensive items, the same basic principle applies to people with the money. Grenade launcher went down a key as well. Putting this down by .33 is fine. Also you might want to look at the proof as well, there are several being sold for 1.66 and less, and remaining unsold at 2 ref as well.

I haven´t mentioned anything about the proof, they are enough for me and have voted accordingly to them although i always prefer a range in strange weapons. I was just commenting your post. And I have another question then: Do you think the possible release of Strange Buff Banner or Sandvich would drop the price of those Stranges Festives? Look what happened with the SFs "first generation", the market is full of all-kind botkillers and normal versions and they (SFs) don´t stop rising. I´m saying this because your sentence could be read on both ways, depending on which weapon we are talking about, and, in this case, only a few people can afford to buy a SF item.

Yes, it would. Whenever a substitution is introduced into any market, the price of the original item almost always drops. The festives went down when the botkillers were introduced, and they keep rising now because they are re-stabilizing after the crash due to everyone freaking out that they might be re-introduced. I know not all real world economy principles apply to the virtual market, but this one does.

Bought from warehouse two times in the last week with extra credits and sold both within 2 hours for 2 ref. Not hard to sell at 2 ref at all.

Well, it still seems that 2 ref should be an upper limit. I'm not saying it should be middle.

And if you search in trading post, EVERY single 1.33ref buyer has not been able to get it for that. Buyers are buying at 1.66 ref and it's not too hard to sell at 2 ref. Obviously there are some lowballs shown above, but if people consistently but at 1.66ref and sellers can sell for 2 ref, the range should be good.

Get some real proof. Those sellers in links are all mostly resellers who restock often, and have multiple Axe in backpack. I still sell for 2 ref
