Link 1 has one sold at 3 ref 1 reclaimed
Link 2 has the current price of of 2.88
Link 3 has one sold at 1 key 2 refined... more than likely desperate to get one
Link 4 has a buyer dissuaded from buying at 2.88
Link 5 has one sold for 3 ref
These sell extremely quickly, and TF2 Warehouse has not had this item in stock for the past month. The cheapest one on the market currently is $3.79, as of 1:30 PM PST.
This price is more accurate. Upvoted.
It surprises me that these things are so easy to sell.
To be honest, I don't why the top range should be 4 ref. I had one a few days ago and sold it for a key. I'd rather say the range should be 3 ref-1 key
Keep in mind that a key has a current value of 3.22-3.33, and the extra reclaimed on link one would value it at 3.55-3.66. The third link must also be taken into account, regardless of it being overpay or no. If it sold for a key THAT quickly, it tells you that you can get more from the transaction.
You only have one sold at 4 ref, I'd need a few more to safely upvote.
The price as of right now for the conch is $3.79, and you have no idea how hard it is to find one. Only 12 are on the market.
The popularity of the genuine concherer may be due to the fact that the vintage one is, ironically, as hard to find as this sucker is.
All your others are from 2.88-3.33. One lucky guy who found a desperate buyer isn't proof of much. If you find more willing buyers or offers of around 3.66 then I'll believe this, but 4 ref is too high until then. And I do know how hard it is to find, I made the last suggestion on this :)
I made the suggested price 4 ref due to the third link. The prices i gleaned from the marketplace is that the cheapest is $3.79,
Also, the other prices I have noticed on that page indicate that they are being sold at comparatively nearly 4 keys.

I sold the genuine conch I had, and asked for what this person wanted for his, and he stated 3.33. You may very easily see these going for 1-2 keys in the future.
Lets go through everything I've found.
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/7450963 Sold for spreadsheet price (2 refined)
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/6904976 Offer of 2 ref, wants 2.88 and still unsold
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/7726374 Sold 1/2 for 3 ref in 2 days
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/7778807 Only wants a key
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/7661174 Sold for 3.33
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/7462363 Sold for 3 ref
And of course, the ONE guy proving your high price.
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/7048122 Sold for 1 key + 2 ref
Now for the buyers:
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/7344333 First person wanted 2.55
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/7070821 Person willing to sell for 2.33
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/7643711 Person willing to sell for 2.66
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/7735252 Bought for 2.33
That is all. Do you see ANYONE who wanted 4 ref? No. There was ONE lucky guy. Luck is not factored into prices.
Closed cause of his. The current range may not be accurate, but your high end of 4 ref is too high.
good proof Up +
He doesn't prove 4 ref sells
link 3
So 1 link makes it concrete? This guy is selling keys for above market value (3.55) So just because of this guy, who has sold 65 of them, the price should go up? http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/6903771
Because, based on your logic it should.
I do not care how much it sells keys
I'm proving a point, and your obvious inability to understand that shows you probably won't get it if I provide another example.
Look at my counter proof above your comment. If this gets accepted I'm instantly going to put up one to reset it.
Fact is that it is being sold for more than the current range.
Yes, but not for 4 ref.
Legit proof... upvote!
Range is not backed up.
Admittedly, this is one of the trickiest items to price, because so few of them are on the market, both being bought or sold. However, allow me to clarify the price range I have suggested.
There is no question that this can sell for at least 3 refined or a key. There is no question about that. What some people are hung up on is the third link I provided, which sold for the equivalent of 5.22-5.33. Obviously, putting a price suggestion of 3-5.33 refined is too much of a range, and the moderators on this site would request that I take down the price suggestion and modify the price. I put the max range at 4 refined, for this item, and so far, the mods have not requested that I modify it. Even I think that 5.33 for this is a wee bit of a stretch, so I posted it at 4 refined to be conservative.Regardless of what you think about the 3rd link that I have in the suggestion, it must be taken into account.
With the exception of promos and keys, most of the suggestions that are registered reference sellers, and rarely touch up on the buyers. 3 of the 4 links that laggylaptop has provided for buying links are dubious in nature, with only one confirmed sale, and there, the person was desperate for metal Four of the links are within the range i am suggesting, with only one of the links he posted going against the evidence i have posted..
If that one person is enough to make you doubt the range of the item, fine, be my guest. Vote however you want to. However, dubious as the 3rd link may be for you, it MUST be taken into account.
I'm not arguing that it needs a price bump up entirely, because it certainly does. I'm just saying that 4 ref is too high. And I don't see how people willing to sell for 2.66 is "dubious in nature" as you claim. Sales are not the only thing that can be counted, its what people are willing to buy and sell for. Yes, they may just want quick metal, but there is still desire to sell at that price. And with several people wanting "quick metal" at that price, it kind of indicates something.
Another thing: Every one of the links I posted goes against the 4 ref high. If it was truely the high end of the range, people wouldnt be setting buyouts at 1 key or 3 ref. 3-3.33 or even 2.88-3.33 might be a lot better. But 4 ref? NOTHING points to that, except one desperate buyer and a lack of the item on the market (as with many genuines).
the one that was up for 2.66 on the buyer's link had the offer redacted. That is why I think it is dubious.
There was still intent to sell at 2.66, here is his trade:
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/7746216 Nothing dubious about that.
But if it is redacted, it would not be considered valid proof...
It wasnt retracted, it was sold to someone else for 2.66...
