This is really weird. We start out with a hat worth about 1.5 buds, and it has offers of around 3, beginning a few days ago. Personally, I wouldn't think the 'great removal' would double the price, but if that's what people are offering, it's not like these are going to be sold for less.

Conclusion:Can't really understand it, but I guess taking them out of the game made them really attractive to buyers. They'll probably lose a whole lot if/when they try to resell, but none of these is going to be sold under 2 buds at the moment. I'm including 2 buds in the range, because caution is always the best way to go.

I agree, so stupid, the chances of unboxing one of these now is so slim anyway, At least it's not as bad as people trying to hoard the vintage versions lol.

I think we should freeze all of the unusual prices on the old 9 hats for about 1-2 weeks to get all of the idiots out of the way.

Well, right now it's people trying to buy them up and hoping that they will be able to resell them later at a profit.

There won't be very much higher actual demand for people that want the hats to wear because they are all in the area of "I'm only buying it because it's cheap and has the effect I like even though the hat isn't that nice."

Once they aren't cheap, and still look the same way, people won't buy them when they are wanting the same price for them as much higher tier hats.

For instance, who would pay 3 buds for this when you can get an o. fire Chap for 2 buds easy? Or an o. fire capo or noir for 1 bud.

So they'll have to drop their prices and the market will correct itself.

They will...but in the mean time when we update prices like this, it screws your average player that might not understand all of this and trade their much more valuable unusual for this because they think they are making a good deal. And in reality, they are just buying something that has been over-inflated and has little actual demand.

It's an interesting thought, but it's too hard to make that judgement. Keys are probably going to crash. These are probably going to crash. In the meantime however, we have to keep the prices as what they are being traded for. We can't start being the moderators of the market - I mean, there's no clear guideline on where it stops. Throws up too many problems about the function of this site for my liking.

Na, keys won't crash. Not until Valve puts a stop to metal farming. The key price is rising for legitimate reasons, not speculation.

Unusuals are completely different creatures and have to be handled with care. There aren't enough of them for each type to be able to change the market quickly and accurately.

I personally think that it's better when the price check on here sits a bit below the market value, as opposed to above what it's actually worth.

The prices are raising on every hat thats retiring and hard to come by any with their original price so i agree

well ive made a suggestion for the circling peace sign at 2 buds, and i am trade banned and have been offered 75 keys on it, and it was still voted down. it would be great if you can make on for this too.
