Lemme know if I missed something.

Well, suggested price range is more than fine, so upvote.

I just can't understand why the hell all these people suddenly became interested in discontinued hats. Because they feel special if they own an item that can't be obtained?

Especially vintages. They were unobtainable anyway, so I can't understand why their prices are rising.

What I think their logic behind this is sort of like this:

They think that because the hats are being discontinued, the price after a long enough time will be incredibly valuable, so they are buying now and making a (rather poor) investment. They see "discontinued" and think "this hat will be worth a fortune to collectors one day."

However, these hats are way too common and everyone who wants one already has it.

Well, supply vs. demand. The supply remains constant, especially for the Vintages, but demand has skyrocketed due to speculation, leading to rapid inflation of the price. This is known as a bubble. You should be able to understand WHY the prices are going up, just not WHY people are being so stupid.

Although "inflation" is not used correctly here, that's basically what he already said.

(If you combine "why their prices are rising" with "people suddenly became interested")

On a similar note, http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8024598 I don't understand the logic of raising vintages.

Regardless to the nature that they SHOULDN'T be rising, they are since they've been more advertised and have been placed as being more valuable.

This is also the first series. So that could be why. Maybe people are just now realizing that.

        Realizing what?

Overhyped items that are definitely not rare mean nothing to collectors, especially when every f2p knows that they are worth something. Every collector actually interested in these hats bought them before the discontinuation.

Only posers that call themselves "collectors" are buying them now for 8x prices. And also some silly "traders" without any basic knowledge about TF2 trading economy, because they think these hats will be worth 8000 buds in future.

Actually, it's more likely that their prices will rise during a week or two, and then fall back to previous prices.

Idiotic as this whole ordeal is, your proof is admittedly pretty good. Upvote.

Man, this thing of retired hats are making them super-wanted. This hat is themed but is not the best ones. I have to upvote, but they were so cheap before and now this will turn the most expensive engineer hat xD. Demand demands it!

I was the person who made the previous suggestion, and when I made it there were already some offers for four keys (but not enough that I could justify a 3-4 keys range). It appears that this hat has indeed risen since then.
