Agreed, or at least fixes that bug REAL fast.

HOW TO:

1.- Put the spell on an Alt account.

2.- Start the game on your main account with a hat of your choice.

3.- While your main is in-game, trade the spell from your Alt.

4.- Apply it to your hat.

5.- ???

6.- PROFIT

Well then hopefully it drops once Valve fixes it...

I wonder how many people will mass-try this in eleven months? It'll be just like the expired crates again except colourful.

Was about to downvote, then realized how valuable they are now. At least until the next Halloween patch wipes all of the old Halloween effects clean.

Valve won't wipe the colour painted hats, only the spells that haven't been applied. At least that's what I think.

Don't be so sure. I had a painted EA spectral spectrum and it got wiped mid December. Almost cried :(

Yeah, same thing here, except they were ACHIEVEMENT hats XD

so any new spell applied hats will have their effects wiped immediately once they are in the game?

These spells were never mean't to be permanent in the first place. I would think they would just wear off after a while anyway.

People paying silly amounts for a limited time effect... oh well.

Don't be so sure. I had a chance to paint my cow mangler and didn't because I didn't want to waste the paint for something you can hardly notice. History shows that when Valve screws up exploit, exploit, and profit. I am 15 buds poorer because of my decision to save a couple of refined. :/

I remember when I deleted the spell my painted bills' because I was all, oh well, the spell is going to go away, may as well prevent sudden disappointment.

Oh mah God . . . accidentally deleted mine when I inadvertently started up my never-start-up account one drowsy evening . . . I even thought an exploit like this might be possible. I'm crying on theinside. :/
