Just because it sells for that price on the steam market, doesn't mean it should be the price.
Did you try checking sales on outpost and other trading sites? They could still be going for 3 keys there.
We don't generally base prices off what the steam market is selling them for.
Why not? You can get a better idea what the price is than outpost.
No you can't. Those trades are paid out in cash, many are quickbuys, and valve takes a fee from everything. Many people simply don't have actual Paypal/steam money to spend, and therefore buy it with 3 keys.
Are you sure you are aware how steam market operates? After the fee keys are sold for 1.5 euro each.

By using the magical thing called math. 3.74 Divided by 1.5 is 2.493 Keys for scarf. If you directly go to steam market SELL YOUR KEYS AND BUY THE MERC MUFFLER.

Doesn't work like that. Hats at the mann. co store are usually at least a few dollars, and they do sell, but that doesn't make the price of a craft hat suddenly 2 keys.
When you can directly sell your keys to market And buy the hat for cheaper than trading for it how does it not work exactly like that. We are voting at current prices right?
Keys sell easily for 2 dollars on market but you can easily get them for around 1.35. People don't really like using the steam market as proof for pricing.

1. I have 5 keys
2. I go to steam market
3. I sell them at steam market ( i get 1.50 eu each)
4. I buy 2 scarves
5. I just payed 5 keys for 2 scarves.
6. Anyone can do this its not a limited time offer or item.
You use your steam wallet to sell on market and to buy these items. The price of keys in paypal is totally irrelevant.
These go for 3 keys easily. I don't even have to provide counter proof for people to know.
Or just people havent realized you can buy it for cheaper in the store than buying it from a trader yet.
It doesn't matter if people are being dumb with their trades (v. fedoras 8 keys wtf?). All that matters is that we know trades like that happen, so we price here accordingly.

Unfortunately, yes. It has nothing to do with fair prices. People selling weaps for a scrap, tokens for two scrap. Again, nothing makes sense. Do you know why buds became $35? It was because one person sold one for that much, so everyone did it.

In that case, the Genuine KE needs a drop in price because you can buy the episode that gives you the G KE for only $1.99 and a key is $2.49, yet the G KE is 1-1.3 keys.
1. Don't base price suggestions on Steam Market. 2. No one buys from the store except new people. 3. No one pays 2.75 keys. It's either 2.5 or 3. 4. Get more proof other than Mann Co Store and Steam Market.
there are people who simply dont like mixing cash and in game currency. i put up mine for sale and got 2 offers of 3 keys.
We're looking for prices for items here. The real price for this item is around 2.5-2.75 keys not 3 keys. Not what some people will pay for it.

No. The fact is that most of the traders here buy em from the store and make a quick buck before the others know that the merc mufflers are being sold in the store. So there are more people buying the Mufflers for steam wallet via selling keys on market place right now than people buying merc mufflers for 3 keys.
Can you prove that with trade links? If you believe a price is too high and suggest a lower price, you need to prove that the current price is not easily sold, if at all.
no. no it isnt. The real price is 3 keys. why? because there are people willing to pay that amount.
if your going like that why are bp expanders worth more than 2 keys even if 2 keys cost the same as 1 bp expander
trading with money and with tf2 items is completely different
I've had people offer 3 Keys to buy my Muffler, and I'm not even selling it.
So yeah, people want to buy this for 3 Keys.

The steam community market follows very different rules from the item market. Counterproof shows this can still get 3 keys.
