Actually, the reason why I put the extra ~bud in there was because as I hovered over the unusual hats in my backpack, while browsing backpack.tf, I usually noticed the price range fluctuated by about 2 buds. For example, 3.2 buds to 5 buds listed on a given hat (high and low range). So, I took the trader's current offer, along with similar offers that were around the 7 bud range (which he declined), and I thought to myself, "Well, seeing as I've never priced a hat, maybe I'll go onto backpack.tf and provide a little evidence, seeing as nothing pops up on this hat, and I want to contribute to the cause!" (also, I was interested in the hat because he offered it to me). Well, upon posting the "suggested price" which I thought was accurate given the give-or-take value (hence the fields of low and high), I was immediately confronted with negative comments which affected my "rating" or something. Upon investigating these remarks, I reviewed the accuser's backpacks and Steam join-dates and noticed they were inexperienced in relation to myself. So, I defended myself like any other human being would. Hence, this amazing page of flame war which could have been avoided if someone such as yourself, would have posted earlier ;). My response would probably have been "Oh, I thought you should place a high and a low value based upon his offers and how long the trade was up", because we all know how long a successful unusual trade takes right?

In all honesty, it's very hard to set a price on these hats. Actually, if you don't mind me asking, what did you buy it for?

To me, the price history looks like this:

Communist Mormon------>Orion for around 6.5

Orion------->Collin for 7 pure

Collin------->Smax for ???

Depending on what you paid, we're probably looking at 6.5 - 7.5 for this.

Well, he offered to trade it for my Misty Skull Drill's which was PC'ed (based upon backpack.tf) at 5.8 - 7.8 buds. He contacted me saying he wasn't interested in profit, and played solly main. Seeing as how he was offered 7 pure and rejected this, I figured he would hold out for at least an 8 bud offer. This was because the 7 pure offer was within a week of him posting the thread on TF2OP. Usually if one holds out long enough, someone will come around and notice the rejected offer, and if they desire the hat, offer a little more. Which is what I took into consideration when suggesting a price. In the future, I will stick to a smaller deviation when suggesting prices, I just didn't anticipate the retorts from other contributors, seeing as this was my first suggestion. This of course assumes I will ever make another contribution (because I'm in a negative status apparently).
