i wouldn't touch these things with a 10 foot pole. retired or not, they are some of the most common hats in the game. sometimes this trading community is baffling.

This isn't about how many are in circulation, this is all about who's choosing to sell them and how many people want them.

Learn about S&D before you talk.

Agreed and I have no doubt that the price of the non-vint ones will eventually return to near craft-hat prices but unless you've got good evidence that this has happened, I'm going to have to downvote your suggestion.

As much as I agree with you, people are still paying around the current price, and this new price you suggested is way too steep to drop to at the time.

as much as i wanna upvote, the market says otherwise; a good-intended gesture, but one that cannot pass. sorry man.

          PROOF?

Ha, logic in TF2 trading, good one buddy.

People want them, and are willing to pay the increased price for them, that's just how thick this community is. Price is dictated by supply and demand. Supply is no longer increasing and is therefore at its maximum. It can only stay static, or decrease (if people hoard them).

Demand is increasing, because everyone thinks "they'll become like earbuds" and wants to flip them for a profit, so the sellers sell it for more, then the buyers buy them to try and sell them for higher.

Supply is either the same, or decreasing, and demand is definitely increasing because "omg limited", and so the price increases. If you don't like them, stay away from them, just like you said you would.

                  True, but not yet.

They will fall back to these values when it sinks in to traders that these hats just aren't as rare/valuable as they think.

As much as I want to upvote, not yet.

Even if it's common, people still want the hat like they want money. I had a fedora and sold it easily for a key + ref
