Nobody selling for less than $.38 actually had any in stock.

I'm sorry that this price range really messes up the values of keys/buds, but that's not my fault. Their cash value should be separate to begin with.

Will be looking to find more proof.

definitely a better range than the one Brad Pitt is suggesting, I was gonna make this vote too, it's fairly easy to sell them for 0.40$ if u have a little bit of rep: http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/6321684 (sold about 200)

Edit: Brad's suggestion was just closed, love how he still got a +127 score and 326 upvotes..will be interesting to see how many votes this one gets

What are advertised buyers buying at? Ads for selling is only half the equation to determine the true average price.

Buyers generally dont advertise themselves as "buying" unless they are trying to get items with ridiciliously low prices (Like 0.3$ ref buying topics in sourceop),so that's a dead-end.

        Downvote.

Quote of me from Brad's suggestion, still valid.Cross out all the outpost proof you got and you'll see range is $.40 and up.

Outpost? Buying anything at all with cash in outpost let alone using that as proof is plain nonsense. You can get scammed quite likely, you never know when some guy in outpost starts charging back all of his transactions. Here's a case which i also got screwed,

        http://forums.steamrep.com/threads/76561198066165486-like-a-boss-andy.16108/

He won all cases, and he is not even tagged yet.

Do you know what also happened? Paypal charged me 20$ for 13.96$ payment, they say its "interest" for credit card company. This is About %35 extra. There was guys who traded 400$+ cash with him.

This is why thoose prices are cheap.Sellers almost always ask you to go first.NO ONE RISKS TO BUY THEM.Even if you do,you probably lose more then you save at a point.

Cross out all the outpost proof you got and you'll see range is $.40 and up.

why would there be any greater risk of getting scammed on tf2op? if u trade with someone u will have to make sure he has good reputation, if u don't that's ur own fault, the guy u got scammed by had no high-value games or hours except on tf2, he had 2 comments on his sop-thread which were both on the same day, u shouldn't have taken that risk in the first place, I wouldn't have dealt anything more than 10$ with him. And the very same thing can happen on any other website, there is no reason u should "cross out all the outpost proof", it's the most commonly used website

and steamrep seems to be overloaded, it takes weeks/months until solid reports lead to a marking, I would strongly suggest not to use that website as a main source anymore, look for other suspicious things instead, most scammers will buy lots of stuff in a short period of time and will only get marked after they are "finished"

Upvoting this over Brad's suggestion, seems more accurate given the proof. $0.38-0.39 would be nicer, but seems a bit of a small range... Whatever.

Yup, I upvoted this over brad.

          that's a pretty neat story

Even though these sell for .40 i think it has to be lower, even if its wrong, so that keys and buds can be correct.

Yup, price needs to drop to reflect the higher price in keys. Right now all Unusuals have inadvertently dropped in value and this is the only way to correct it since the system uses Refined to calculate value. I'm sure everyone here that has an unusual noticed how the price fluctuated from the last key suggestion. And since every unusual in the world didn't drop in value, the only thing to do is correct the Refined. Also, if there are all these sales at .39 and .40, these sellers must have have gotten the metal somewhere for less. Otherwise whats the point of trading? UPVOTED

You understood that suggestion is going to drop every items cash value on bp.tf right? Including unusuals.

Yup, however there is no other way to balance out the system since everything is based on the price of refined. Right now any item that is listed in buds is currently price listed wrong since the last Key suggestion, as I'm sure you noticed. It isn't a perfect system to run everything off of the price or Ref but it's all we got unfortunately. Also, the $ price is WAY off anyway, look at buds themselves, they list at $37.75 here on backpack.tf. . Blatantly wrong. They don't even really cost more than $35 (at the most on high priced Outpost) and really you can get them for $32-$33 http://tf2finance.com/ . So right there we have SEVERAL dollars mis-alocated to Buds since it's hooked into Ref for $ pricing. So it's fine if the value of backpacks drop. They are OVERVALUED right now. I myself would like to see actual value for my items without any spin. So yeah, Refined needs to come down. Hope that helps make sense! :)

Currently, I just had a guy add me, looking for me to pay .36 per ref. I haggled him down to .33. Upvote from me, ref is going WAY down

                How many did you buy?

Erm, didnt get a chance to buy em, ran out of funds, but ill be buying em from him in the next few days.

ok, just wondering if you where buying 100+ and the guy wanted to sell fast lol, although iv'e seen people succefuly post buying adds and buy at .30$ (quicksale of course ;)

also some people are willing to lower their price and deal with reputable traders instead of taking the risk of getting scammed..I'd rather sell my Keys at 1.25 to Mattie, than selling them at 1.40 to some weird Russian

Yea point taken, Reminds me of the insane guy that tried to scam me because "god told him to."

                          yeah, those russkies... as me:D

Just an example, there's just lots of weird russians around

My friends find a few SOP sellers at 35 cents and they buy a few hundred at a time. They're such good buyers that every week the sellers just come to them and say I got another load for you.

Nobody adds anyone to sell stuff below the market.Be carefull trading with him.

He added me from outpost, and i bought 25 of his keys at 1.30, so i think its safe to say he is legit.

The actual price of refined is irrelevant. Until brad changes the basis of all prices away from refined metal, all item prices will be wrong anytime the value of keys changes.

Refined must be set to $0.38 or the system breaks.

Actual price of refined is based on what people actually pay for it and is not irrelevant in any way.Stop trying to currency crossrate everything with keys,it screws up the market.

Actually using refined as a basis for the economy, when it is clearly not screws everything up. Resellers primarily sell keys not ref. Ref is given away, keys respond to supply and demand. As long as the player base stays relatively constant, keys will always increase in price in terms of refined. Since key prices are ultimately controlled by the steam price, all other currencies should be based on it.

i think 0.5 $ is good price to refined metals

                            link 1 sold 200 at .40 each

i think metal suggestions should be disabled. metal is one of the basic currencies

which is why it is important that the pricing is up to date

true, but not randomly suggested by random people. maybe by someone more professional

Like me. A person who does thousands of dollars in cash transactions a month.

                                no proof, downvote

You do know this suggestion has more proof than any other refined suggestion that has been made...right?

SOP has a few sellers at 35 cents. My friends just buy it all and flip to keys. Too much ref. I stopped even carrying ref and just bought hats with it.

From what i see, tl_ has made a valid suggestion, i give you my upvote.

backpack saying the key = 1.42$ to proof the Ref = 0.38 we should sell the key @ 3.77 ref

                                      if the key is 3.77: 3.77*.38 = 1.43$ = true .

                                      if the key is 3.66 : 3.66*.38 = 1.39$ ( 0.03$ missing )

                                      if the key is 3.55 : 3.55*.38 = 1.34$ ( 0.08$ missing )

                                      if the key is 3.44 : 3.44*.38 = 1.3$ ( 0.12$ missing )

So 0.38$ bad suggest = devote

You forgot to average the suggestion, so it's $0.39 vs. your suggestion of $.385

The amout of people with alt accouts for idling is growing, wich means we have more metal hanging arround.

The price going down Is something way more then expected

                                          Gaben:"Every thing is going...*nom nom nom*...according to plan >:D)))"

lol that's funny, but it's the same as in economy with money.. that's why governments just can't print more money and give it to people, money loses value.

if you have 100 dolars and 1 product costs 1 dollar it will be the same over time

but if you double the amount of dollars to 200 just by printing money, without any other factors, the same product now costs 2 dollars, money lost value

well the real-life economy is a little more difficult than that, economies grow and some products are improving over time (e.g. computers, TVs, etc.) and are hence worth more than older products..that improvement is missing in TF2 as it's all basically the same sh*t, so the rising amount of metal is becoming more and more of a problem for new players, they'll have to do something against idling sooner or later (much like they did when they banned everybody using idling-programs)

We should ask Valve's economist what to do, he's smarter than all of us speculators. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

No one seemed to notice this:

                                            http://tf2shop.net/details/5002-6

As of right now, they have 198 available for $0.49.

Everything at the tf2 shop is ridiculously overpriced, hence they have such a large stock available.

As of right now there are 1124 items available. =/

Anyways I got bored and did a little math..

I wondered how much if i sold 500 keys for 3.33 ref each then sold all the ref for $.40c each.. The answer scared me a little. I think it's my sign too keep away from cash trading lol.

This has been up for TOO MANY DAYS. Admins, please accept or deny. There are 917 votes to tally as of right now. Also, the last comment was 16 hrs ago. This discussion has obviously plateaued. Thanks.

Good luck with that. All I know is I sold so many refined at .39 that I stopped selling because I didn't want to run out for other things I was buying.
