Range: 3.5-4.5 Proof: I just paid 4 buds for it, only trade that has occured with this 1 of 1 hat.
I had MY hat in Warehouse, he hit me up paid me 4 pure, please don't speak if you don't know the facts.
okay mate.
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8141503 - Here is the man I bought it from
>Says he paid 4 buds
>Makes high end 4.5 buds
Nothing wrong there
nothing at all perfectly fine price based on what he paid
Not at all.
There needs to be proof of a 4.5 bud offer or sale.
Also, he didn't even provide proof, he just said that is what he paid.
No proof here at all, and the range is wrong.
I believe he was being sarcastic.
That whooshed right over my head :(
so much sarcasm piled over sarcasm.
Screenshot of trade history would be nice.
Also, high end should be 4 in that case.
I'm downvoting this because there is only one of these in existence and therefore can't be a lot of proof. Plus you can ask whatever you want for it now that you own it, and with only one in the world that would be the new price.
Yes, because not having a price is far more accurate. He paid 4 for it. That is the only proof that exists. "He can ask whatever he wants for it." It wouldn't be the new price. Price is what people will pay. Someone paid 4 buds. Upvote.
But the high end is 4.5 buds despite him only paying 4 for it. Unless he can show people offering 4.5 its an inaccurate price.
How so? If somebody pays a price for something that's the max possible you could ever get for it? It's called a high end for a reason. Not "This is the price but quicksellers will sell for these lower values."
if he cant prove that people are willing to pay 4.5 buds for it, why should it be a part of the price? the last owner had a b/o of 4 buds, which proves that it doesnt go for 4.5, if it did, he wouldn't have put 4 buds as a b/o
But there's only one data point I understand the "what people will pay" but there's one person so far. When there are say 5 or 6 of these that are being bought and sold then I will be convinced of a price range. Plus there is no proof of either end of the range just the middle. A range of 1-7 buds makes the same amount of sense with only one.
There are a bunch of unusuals that only have 1 or 2 copies and they don't have prices because there is such a small market.
Sorry, I don't think that a hat shouldn't have a price just because they aren't traded a lot. This website is to give people an idea of what a hat is worth. There is no reason not to have a price when there is proof. He would put 4 buds if he could, but unusuals REQUIRE a range, hence 3.5-4.5. Small markets deserve prices when there is evidence.
I understand that unusuals need a range, so whenever a second copy of this hat is uncrated and sold for say 4.5 buds then a range of 4-4.5 would make sense... but there isn't a second, so there can't be a range, so there can't be a price.
If you've ever taken a geometry class you know that trying to draw a line through one point accurately is a waste of time.
You can have a range to a 1 of 1 hat. Typically when given a hat that is 1 of 1 a range you either go by what it sells for alone or what offers it typically gets and what it sells for. So if it always sells for 4 buds and most offers are 3.33 then a 3.33-4 bud range is fine. If its been sold for 3.5 and 4 buds in the past then the range would be 3.5-4 buds.
Makes sense but the offers in the trade were between 2 and 4 bud pure with unusual offers of 2.3-3.5. I still think one data point isn't enough.
It's never sold at 4.5. But it's also never sold at 3.5. Realistically, neither have reason to be in range.
With a hat like this, best price would have been a flat pricing at what it sold for until more start hitting the market. Still, I'd say centering around it is the next best thing.
4 flat or 3.5-4
