ERMARGERD ANOTHER KEY PRICE SUGGESTION
People selling for 3.66 dont have any keys. Posted the trade buying for 3.66 and dont have a sinle add for several hours (bumping ~30min)
There is a lot of trades at 3.88 with very high stock and some buyers
There is some trades for 4 ref (lol)
tf2finance at pure 3.66, doesnt really mean there is significant amount of 3.55 sellers: http://tf2finance.com/keys/
Sellers for 3.66, no keys or very small stock and offline:
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/6957497
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8671913 <-- bought last two keys
http://scrap.tf/keys <-- not a lot available @ 3.66
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/6882406
Sellers for 3.77 each, stocked:
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8655248
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/7932761
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8671484
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8652358
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8303819
if keys are 3.66 pure, the current range is fine!
Trades selling for 3.66 have no keys, noone even sell for 3.55
People are BUYING for 3.66:
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8367433
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8669683
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8672554
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8602641
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8666581
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8672578
If keys are 3.66 every trade at that price doesnt matter and 3.55 & 3.77 cancel each other out with the ~same amount.
Not the same amount. There are plenty selling at 3.88 and higher, people that dont like to wait buy at 3.77
Its very easy to find a buyer for a key for 3.66. Almost every trade on search page was buyers for 3.66
That's not up for discussion dude, that's how math works. If there would be only trades for 3.66, 3.77 and 3.88 the AVERAGE would be higher that 3.66 that is now. If there are 100 threads @ 3.66 and 20 @ 3.77 there must be 20 @ 3.55 to cancel those out, otherwise average would be higher.
Try to understand that if there are unstocked buyers at 3.66 low range should be 3.66. If i create 100 trades asking for buying keys for 0.11 not getting a single key price will not go down (and i will be banned probably)
I think there are still people who buy for 3.55 gonna go scrounge around for counterproof.
There are people that are buying keys at 3.55 and there are people who sells at 4.00
Pricerange should not be dependent on quickbuyers/sellers
UPD: His counterproof is down there. Now he upvoted :D
I bought one for 3.44 today. Still possible, it just takes time.
if finance is at 3.66 flat, why would the current range be wrong? If my math is any good 3.66 is the exact middle of 3.55-3.77
I post a trade for 3.66
got 4 adds in 30 seconds.
fuck this
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8669884
Exactly, I even sold 19 keys for 3.77 in like 50 minutes on a single bump.
This needs to be updated because it is misleading people. Nobody in their right mind would sell at 3.55 because people are BULK BUYING @3.66
Nah, any willing sellers of keys @ 3.55 just scrap.tf it.
1. Wery low amount of buys
2. Buys were long time ago (check comments)
Darn that IS true. :( Counterproof is valid from like, 3 days to a week ago, not current times.
Upvote.
Have you ever noticed that keys were solid 2.66 until people started suggesting higher prices here? On this site, keys will NEVER go down in price. And because of this, their price on the market will only GROW. Would love to see you trying to buy a key in month or two, when you'll have to pay twice as much as you're paying for the key today.
Let keys rise, then crash back down...
Let HOUWARS rise, then crash back down...
tf2 finance is now at 3.65 which is out of your range..........................
tf2finance is out of range, and people who sell keys for 3.66 get instantly jumped.
Well i'm just saying if tf2finance, which takes all existing trades into account, is not in the range, then obviously it can't be correct. The current range is obviously the better one.
now at 3.64
tf2finance takes in account pretty specific trades.
There is a lot more than 50 trades a day (look at the "volume" bars)
DIS GONNA B GUD
Do you perhaps want to use proof other than OP to back this up? Like Trader Serve... no wait, people buy for 3.55 (I've seen more successful buyers at 3.55 than sellers at 3.66 on said servers recently. And there are alot of people trying to sell keys for 3.66, and not very many keys change hands) on those, that would disprove your suggestion. Then perhaps tf2finan... no, you can't do the middle school level math required to understand an average. And it disproves your range.
scrap.tf buys at 3.55, and they've bought ~180 keys today.
scrap.tf is also out of keys all day, because people are mass buying at 3.66.
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8674790
I sold one just now for 3.66. Got 2 adds after a minute.
LOL either op or a greedy key seller downvoted EVERY post that was against OP's suggestion. Just rofl.
Its the dam Halloween update that started jacking keys in price. The more people keep raising the price of keys to make a profit they are not realizing they are not in the end and they are just screwing them self. I still hold keys at a value of 3.66.
STOP TRYING TO RAZE THE PRICE PEOPL EYOU DONT MAKE A PROFFIT IN THE END DUE TO THE FACT EVERY THING ELCE WILL RISE IN PRICE TOO!!!!
this is getting boring
exactly steve
Lol btw do you notice these mad kids disliking every comment? :D haha this is so funny. People should get a life.
Maybe the dislikes have more to do you with guys spamming your (irrelevant) opinions that add nothing to what should be an objective discussion.
You guys do nothing but stare at the market situation and wait for the key to go up by 0.11 so you could run here like a lamplighter and suggest a higher price. You say it's not greed and you're just helping the community and stuff. There were 3 key suggestions running 2 days ago. Is that normal? That's just plain silly. Glad I stopped buying keys. So should the rest of the community.
I swear guys when the keys will goes back to 2.66 this is gonna be the paradise because the keys are always coming up just because people wants profits and the community is following these people... Honneslty the keys are comming more than more expensive and the most of the player's economy are ruined because of that just because people want to sell them... this is in a way like the money that we exchanged every day why is this always comming up? Because people are always using the top price and then we are making vote to increase its price and then it takes the role of a vicious circle...Honneslty people aren't obligaded to sell keys all the time to raise their wallet vallue...
Honestly, I don't think keys will ever go back to 2.66 ref, no matter how much you want it to. People will always be buying keys, so there would be no reason for key sellers to lower their prices to sell their keys.
I'm still trying to figure out why the key prices will suddenly drop like some people are speculating.
'sigh" keys are rising and rising, and hey wont fall becuase community doesnt want them to, therin lies the flaw in and community ideal, people always want more for less
Been buying some keys pretty much every day off of my buy thread at 3.55. I got 11 keys yesterday alone. = http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8523747 . It is NOT impossible or unusual to get keys at 3.55. It should remain part of the CURRENT SPREAD which was accepted barely more than a day ago. http://tf2finance.com/keys/ supports the inclusion of 3.55 as well.
It is also not impossible or unusual to get keys at 3.44 that doesn't mean 3.44 should be within the range. I am sure even 3.33 people see a few adds per day.
The point is, if the first metal for keys page has a couple of 3.66 buyers, people settling for 3.55 are an exception, not the rule.
Also the current spread was falsely (IMHO) accepted without any proof for 3.55.
Bought a key from this guy four different times today at 3.55 = http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198002351902/ . Then I got 2 more from this guy at 3.55 = http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198067352040/ . Purchases are not super fast but they are consistent since I opened my buy thread which once again is here = http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8523747 Also, today is still young so I'll keep updating this as purchases roll through.
Approved.
+upvote.
If we can get this to 4.33 ref by the end of next month, I'll be happy.
is it just me or is this a new trend to make key suggestions a day after the previous one has been accepted? Isn't it logical that prices are a little bit higher after a recent price change(higher then the tf2 pricelist range to try and test their luck). Making all these suggestions this short after each other doesn't really help, best intentions aside, assuming that we all strife to stabilize the key prices. But that just my 2 cents =P, I dunno XD.
Instant upvote.
I made the exact same suggestion: http://backpack.tf/vote/id/511d46f1ba2536d34f000005
I hope you will have more luck than I did, I lost almost all my backpack.tf reputation because some mod accepted the totally wrong 3.55 range instead.
If people are bulk buying (!) at 3.66 there is no reason for anyone to sell at 3.55.
Bulkbuyers are usually the last people to update their prices and if they offer above backpack.tf lower range, you can be sure that something's up.
I talked to the mod and he basically admitted that there was zero proof for the lower bound of 3.55. Of course you can still buy at 3.55 every blue moon but the same can be said for 3 refined or even 2.66 if you find people who don't follow the price development.
Good luck with your submission.
PS: Tons of proof from my suggestion:
Updated proof:
Keys need an update, let's face it.
They have always been a 1 scrap range so I cleaned up the proof for this updated range of 3.66-3.77.
Many people are not quickbuying for 3.66 refined, so anybody selling for 3.55 or less should not be considered (otherwise we'd have to put the lower range at 3 ref since some people naively sell for that). Incidentally I found nobody selling for 3.55, even my offer of 3.66 didn't attract any attention in 2 hours.

That should be enough to prove that the lower range needs to be raised which everybody bitches about. When so many high profile traders are buying for 3.66, you know anybody selling for 3.55 is a fool. We need to stop misinforming people.
Trade selling for >=3.77 successfully:
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/7932761
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8633695 (mine, I stopped selling since I personally feel like 3.88 should be possible)
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/6997536 (3.74 is visible as offer, many adds after that, claims to have sold >100 at 3.77)
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8404555 (sold at 3.77 for at least 2 days, is now out of keys and raised to 3.88)
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8638249 (buying for 3.77)
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8476487 (fluke, sold one for 4ref)
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8540530 (3.71 buyer is visible, now raised to 3.88)
Disclaimer: yes I have keys in my backpack, like any somewhat serious trader. However you will also notice that I have like $4000 backpack value. I do not care if I can sell a few keys for a scrap more. But I care about finding misleading values on backpack.tf. Even when selling for 3.66 my friendlist got flooded in minutes. At 3.77 I sold 19 keys in 47 minutes. That is why I made this suggestion.
You could have just said that you have over 50 keys in your backpack.
Yes I have keys, like every high profile trader.
I have around 3000 keys in my backpack if I were to convert my Unusuals to keys. However that is irrelevant, keys value is not rising, metal value is (eternally) falling.
That is not my fault, I just observe that keys sell easily at 3.77.
Stop being so butthurt, not everything is a conspiracy.
lol @ butthurt and conspiracy. Do you guys think people shall keep buying keys when they reach 4+ ref?
This isn't about what you want or what I want. backpack.tf should just reflect the reality and that is that right now, you can very easily get 3.66 for a key (instantly).
Keep your personal opinion out of what should be a fact based decision.
1 ref is not worthless. It's a big change from 2.66 to 3.66+ and it's not going to stop. Would you still say it's okay when keys are 5.33 (double the original price)? And 5.33 may not even be the limit. People gone wild with the key prices.
It's pretty obvious, The high ballers at 4 ref aren't going to stop with their BS, But that's just fine. They'll get the message sooner or later when people catch on, and refuse to buy keys from their store
The more the key sellers who push for the higher prices keep pushing the prices up, the more it becomes apparent that they don't have enough brains to screw in a light bulb.
"you can very easily get 3.66 for a key"
So you think the prices on here are supposed to be at a range where it's difficult to get a trade? The prices should be a middleground between what is an acceptable buying/selling range -- aka what you can easily find trades at; not what you COULD wait a while for people to buy at. Use your head, the current price range is fine.
Why is the price even going up? I see no reason why it should. Id keep it at 3.66
It's true that 3.66 is a fine price (for now...)
Many People demand on keys. let's face it, metals are getting useless
If metal is so useless, why don't you just give yours away? Because it still holds value to many people, including you. Devaluation of refined makes sense to a certain point, but past that, it just gets ridiculous.
Personally, I'd be fine with 2.66 for my keys if I knew that I would be able to get more for the same price later. The problem is, TF2 traders use keys as currency, and keys are resold for higher than their current worth, but bought at their current worth for the reselling. This is what causes the snowball effect of key to refined ratios changing drastically, coupled with the fact that people own hundreds of idle accounts for Refined Metal farming.
Probably thats why key price is rising.
Scrap.tf/keys buys keys for 3.55 and sells them for 3.66, which is evidence for the current range, also there are some trades for keys on outpost for 3.55, I bought one for that yesterday (I have no proof of that), and today i found some one selling for 3.44 Ref ( http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8672942), they just usually are closed so quickly most people dont see the, that trade was closed in less than a minute.
upvote, I can't buy any key for 6.60(6.55 + 1 weap)
Well. I ran out of popcorn LOOONNNG ago.
Same. Probably around the 3 ref range.
well if find keys price at 3.66 is fair 3.77 is bull
I think the current range is perfect. I used to sell keys at 3.66 and was sold out in minutes usually when I bumped the trade. With luck you can find 3.55 sellers. I got a couple of keys every day by buying at 3.55 + 1 wep. The 3.77 sellers(now including me) get about as many bumps as the 3.55-3.55+ 1 wep buyers. The range needs to stay with an average of 3.66. It is possible to buy at 3.55. Sellers sell out in seconds. 3.66 is what most people buy and sell at these days, and 3.77 is for those who cant stay in stock super often. Downvote from me
downvote. bought 2 keys 2day for 3.55 each
I bought like 5 for 3.55.
