Obvious current range and other suggestion are too low.

Thanks to Laggylaptop for the proof.

I think a range might've been a tad better, but offers are all over the place, so 3 ref is fine for now.

Yea, I mean, you are just showing that they are selling for 2.66-3 ref. 2.66 ref sells fast, but that's what you would expect for selling at the lower end of a range.

A few going over that range, a few under. But 2.66-3 looks best.

Since there's some for 2.66 and some at a key, rather than putting a huge range I decided a flat number represented the market better.

A range implies lots of sales happen in all parts of that range, which I wasn't really seeing in the links

But also some at 2.33 and 2 that are still unsold. See below. It still seems like there are enough at 2.66 ref to make that part of the range and enough below 2.66 (links i posted) to counter the ones above 3 ref.

But eh, 2.66-3 vs 3? Does it really matter?

Those links are all very underbumped, and tf2tp hasn't been high traffic for a while.

Our prices will never be perfect no matter what, but it doesn't take much time to suggest something so better to give the voters some options.

Well, think about it this way. If I want to buy a reserve shooter, I'm going to click on the search button and look for reserve shooters. All of these were on the first page of the search for tf2tp. It doesn't matter if they are bumped or not cause they are all on the first page. And if I were to buy all three of these and post screenshots of me buying three at 2-2.33, wouldn't that change your mind? Why should this be any different?

And I, along with many other people, have reduced my volume of trading on outpost in favor of tp because there are just flat out better prices there. I buy almost everything on tp and sell on op. Anyways, that's my sense on this. If everyone else votes this up, then so be it.

It's still only 3 trades, regardless of their source. Tf2tp has a common reputation for low traffic and lower prices (just as bazaar does), so obviously the source of the proof does has an impact on its weight. tf2tp has dozens of old and unclosed trades up, so the "no clutter" aspect of it is failing spectacularly, from my POV. (Perhaps outpost is the New York of trading websites? XD)

Also: I AM NOT making any decisions here--Mods cannot approve their own suggestions, so please do not say "your decision" when I'm not making any. I made this suggestion to represent my impartial opinion, and there are no further decisions involved on my part.

The fact that they were on the first page despite being unbumped for that long should tell how many people visit tf2tp.

I'm not saying 3 ref is the only price that happens--Trades will happen outside the range we list (in both directions) no matter what. But if you have to chase down something then I usually don't bother putting that something in the range. That's what I'm seeing for 2.33 and for keys for this item.

Well, what if I didn't say that I bought them from tf2tp. Never mentioned that at all. And just posted three screenshots of me buying at 2-2.33. And just saying, this was so easy, I bought three at this price within 10 min from three different people, complete with time stamps on my screenshots. Wouldn't you see that differently? I'm just saying that this shouldn't be any different.

And tf2tp doesn't work by bumping. The bumping feature is terrible. Whether a trade is bumped or not shouldn't affect your decision there because only one trade can be bumped at a time. The whole idea is to NOT create the clutter of outpost. So people just post it up once and let people use the search function.

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I meant "your decision" not in accepting but in suggesting the price. I've seen how this site works. In any case, if tf2tp isn't really factored into pricing decisions that's a good thing for me :).

Thanks for your time in this discussion. Have a good day :)

Okay, some counterproof. I like trading post sometimes because it includes completed trades, not just the ones that are going unsold, which gives less bias towards the high end. These are all in the last day.

            http://tf2tp.com/trade.php?trade=9182340 - 2.33 ref

http://tf2tp.com/trade.php?trade=9181761 - 2.33 ref - sold 1, still has 1 remaining if anyone wants it

http://tf2tp.com/trade.php?trade=9178865 - 2 ref - still has it in his bp if anyone wants it

when it comes to a MOD linking proof from THE LaggyLaptop, don't bother arguing with a combination like them.

Yeah this does seem better. Also you might want to hit the edit button then hit save, it gets rid of all the spaces in there. Kinda hard to read >.>

Well, one final push for a 2.66-3 ref range in addition to other evidence I posted of selling 2-2.33 ref.

65 of these are available on warehouse for around 2.22-2.89 ref each depending on your math. You can do the math a few different ways.

                Ref goes for 4500, so 9990/4500 = 2.22 ref

Keys go for 13000, so 9990/13000*3.77 ref = 2.89 ref.

Ref is always in stock (overvalued), keys are never in stock (undervalued), so the true value lies somewhere in the middle - 2.66 ref.

Impossible to sell ref in tf2wh , if your going to sell ref the bot will tell you :

"Trade is invalid: Not accepting metal any longer."

                  and if you sold key , u'll get 12600c no 13000c , so 9990/12600*3.77 = 2.94 closer to 3 ref .

Thats why I said: "Ref is always in stock (overvalued), keys are never in stock (undervalued), so the true value lies somewhere in the middle - 2.66 ref." I am well aware of how warehouse works, as i am in trust tier 8.

Your same reasoning applies to the key (except in reverse). Keys are never in stock, so their value is realistically more than 13000.

                  Close it.^^

Thanks for the support. I don't really care about the value of the reserve shooter. And most experienced traders don't either (I can buy for 2-2.33 ref easily and sell for a key if I really wanted to). This is for the non-profiteers / amateurs / occasional traders who just want this item. This suggestion would suggest to them that they should pay 3 ref for a reserve shooter when I think that is ridiculous. It can be done at 2.66 ref, and 3 ref pure is just helping out profiteers who can buy them cheaper.

I regret selling mine for 2.33 Ref...
