i think just 1 key suggestion a week, and cant made by an trader who owns keys more worth than 2buds. just for safety.

Although i am one of those that sell for 4.00, i hate the constant price increase. Stop it. Where are the 2.66 keys?

No because it's only keys getting a price increase, unless you have keys your backpack the value will stay the same and you'll also have to pay more if you want keys.

He cherry picked, and not only that, he refuses arrogantly to find more proof because all he's done is post his original proof when someone disagrees. That's why tf2finance is a better source for a basis as to making a key suggestion since it "sees" more than just outpost.

You know.. This proves ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I bet about 10 times more keys get sold at 3.88ref than at 4 ref each. Tf2finance says it's 3.82ref. What if i create a trade selling keys at 2.66ref and say "Sold: 6451332" will then be keys at 2.66ref?

Remember the days when we were kidding about this? Soon it'll reach 5, unless we can make the market crash in some way.
Obviously boycotting hasn't been working, so I guess we'll just have to wait and see what Valve can do about it.
The only person whom can make the market crash is either valve, or the majority of traders that are coughing up lots of refined metal for keys. If the majority stops paying, price goes down. If valve does something with refined metal, price might go down.
The same, price rises and others more the price increases. Unfortunately we are in a problem that seems to have no solution, and I think it's time to stop the price rise, it is increasingly out of hand and if it comes to pass, rest assured that many (including those who command these suggestions, and they sell keys), which sold at 4.22.
I can live with this as you have just increased on the existing range, if you had highered the lower price I would have downvoted. :)

I buy them for $1.20 off my friend 20-30 at a time. and sell for 3-3.33ref. and yes ive bought alot at 3.33 in bulk.

Fuck this. TF2 market is screwed because:
1. Trade guides like us rely on tf2 outpost (i think we all know how that works now)
2. We keep suggesting something most people disagree to but who care? Outpost is a fair sight with NO lowballers and NO highballers.
Really. I use to trust this sight so much. Now that i know that something like this can be so easily manipulated by using a place where people sell OVER spreadsheet as proof, I really dont know that this sight can be completely trusted.
In the near future, i will look here for prices on hats, unusuals, etc. When it comes down to keys, Ill make sure to look elsewhere. Unfortunately, keys are a huge part of the economy.

However, it does pose a problem. The Admins are just doing their job. They have a level of integrity to keep on this sight. For better or worse, they must change price to reflect current price. The problem is that proof is coming from outpost, a sight of lowballers and highballers.
In the end, our likes, dislikes, upvotes, and downvotes mean nothing. The admins set the price. Why is this a big problem?
THIS IS THE SAME METHOD OF TF2 SPREADSHEET. A few select people set the price. These people are often: rich or can afford to be an admin. The only difference is that on this sight, we can comment, upvote, downvote, etc. Even then, it only accounts for maybe 10% of the final say. If you look in the previous suggestions, many people didn't want the the prices. it was sucessfully downbvoted, but still accepted.
admins set the price, exactly.... meaning they are manipulating the economy, to profit... you actually think they are doing this to benefit you & your best interests... keep sleeping you sheep. the admins of all these sites are the disease of tf2 community, they indeed profit whether using their accounts, or alt accounts... admins are being watched closely from all these tf2 manipulating sites. keep your heads up..
Problem is....For all our fighting (and trust me ive been fighting) the admins get the final word.
I dont disagree with the possible fact that admins are lining their pockets but unless i see proof (decisive evidence if you wanna use THAT reference) I wont condemn anyone of conspiracy.
In the end i want 2 things:
1. The key prices down
2. A REAL reflection of what the COMMUNITY says about keys prices. Not just what admins, outpost proof, or upvoters, but as much as the community as possible.

As for your argument: you may use somewhere else to get a suggested price for keys, but you still need to find a willing seller for that amount.

Want my opinion? Invest in genuines, rare vintages, rare stranges, salvaged crates, etc. These move in price in keys. Thus if crates are 6 keys its 24 ref (following the LIKELY acceptance of 4 ref per key). You already have a set price in keys. Confusingi know but you will see it when you try it.

Using cherry-picked outpost trades as proof already doesn't count for non-currency items. When it comes to keys you are going to need a LOT of proof, especially after the price was already raised.

Nothing says you have to use backpack.tf. Feel free to use spreadsheet, there is literally no one and nothing preventing you from doing so. Its perfectly fine if you want to go back to listening to the opinion of one man that does not even give reasons for the adjustments he makes.

You can still use it. Nothing is stopping you. Complaining about backpack.tf does nothing especially when it is the mass amounts of buyers who should be at fault since they are the ones that force suggestions such as these to occur. So far there seems to be a lack of enough people that have stopped buying keys and therefore sellers keep bumping prices up in order to maximize their profits. If someone selling for 3.77 ref wasn't added by 20 people in under a minute, then maybe sellers wouldn't keep bumping prices up.

nice idea. But unfortunately the community at large follows a spreadsheet or guide like backpack.tf. If we set a price, everyone follows.
Also, try getting everyone else to sell at 2.66. Honestly, not many people will. If i could, i would take as many keys as i can and sell them for 2.66 each. I really would. Then i would come back here and litereally use my one post of 1000 successfull sales at 2.66 as proof. That should shove it real good in the face of those who wish to continue raising prices.

There should be some sort of law on backpack.tf that would prevent you from making a suggestion on key prices until 1 week after the previous suggestion had gome through. Maybe in the really urgent circumstances, but I hate seeing people try to game the system like this (maybe if there's good enough proof I would).
Anyways, this is good proof and I can't really dispute it in any way. I'm still giving you a neutral vote, however, since I don't want to see the price increase when they could stay low for a little while longer.
The more you increase the prices the more people will raise that price, keep doing these price suggestions and guess what, keys are soon going to cost 5 refs when they don't need to be. Also with the amount of keys in your backpack? No chance - Downvote.

Still, I will respect someone with a poor bp and AMAZING skills in play rather than a rich bp with 0 skill.
The overwhelming majority of TF2 players are F2Ps that do not care about your backpack and more about the game and objectives. Having people judge you based on your backpack is fairly meaningless at large and to the individual.

Economics 101
You have an over abundance of people crafting worthless weapons into metal.
Vary few craft the metal into hats.
Flooded metal market means prices of everything else goes up.
Keys, non-craft-able, can only increase the item by purchase in steam store, if people use them for uncrating as fast or faster than they are purchased there are less, again price goes up.
It comes all down to supply and demand. You would have to first know how many at any giving time are being purchased from steam (inflow into game). How many are destroyed in the uncrate process. How many weapons are turned into metals, or crafted to hats (metal destroyed or diminished) And since most players can not afford to buy keys from the store (2.49) like myself buy them in game for less than half (1.30-1.35) http://forums.sourceop.com/threads/138019-jC-(-)-rep-thread?p=1445553#post1445553. But that is not increasing the amount of keys, only changing location.
The real problem is not the price of the keys, its the amount of metal in the market!

That's nicely said and all. However, there has always been more metal (too much metal) than keys and there has always been a high demand for keys. Nothing stated above explains why keys have skyrocketed.
Even if you divided the amount of ref by the amount of keys you get less than 3 ref.
1,220,892 ref / 468,367 keys = 2.66 ref per key
Keys have gone up because sellers ask for a lot and buyers are willing to pay.
If I had a key for every time someone took basic Econ and tried to say Supply and Demand for every friggin thing... I'd have around 130 dollars worth of keys >.>
