"Very easy to find for 9 keys or less"
So keep current price?
I mean there is tons for 9 keys and are unsold.. if I can find 9 for less than 9 keys in 3 minutes, why would anybody pay 9 keys?
Still need to show them not selling for 9 keys.
Sugoi's argument IS justified.

Can't find many 9 key sappers that are about 1 week or older, but I could list dozens of 9 keys that are 2 days or less.
It looks like you directed that jab at me though, i'm one of the fellas taking your side O.0
Oops, sorry lol, I just like to respond to the furthest right comment :S
Do you think you can provide for evidence if there's 20 pages of people selling strange sappers on outpost?
You have to prove not only that the range you suggest is valid but that the range which you're removing is indeed extraneous and invalid, ie. nobody pays that much.
8.5-9 still seems valid.
It bothers me that people just seem to put up suggestions saying "lets trim most of the existing range out, and only include the cheapest/most expensive/most popular range.
As time moves on, we step closer to salvaged crate #40 being DISCONTINUED. When that happens, the price of the crate AND ALL the items inside it will skyrocket, much like what happened to salvaged #30. Instead of making the prices super low and letting the economy crash when crate #40 is discontinued and the prices go 10 times higher, why not make the prices higher before that crisis happens? I do not get why the prices of items in #40 are dropping; they are going to skyrocket like hell later and the economy will crash then.
And I am not saying this because I have a strange sapper, but it is based on my knowledge of everything that happened to crate 30. Just LOOK at the prices of s. gunslinger and s. machina. LOOK and STARE at those prices.
On the other hand, you probably want s.sapper's price to decrease because you don't have one. Just saying.
The only problem with that logic is that this crate has already far outdropped #30. There are already more of any weapon from #40 than of any weapon from #30. No doubt when the drops stop scarcity will dictate a price increase, but that doesn't mean it has to be as dramatic as with #30. 1 example is not a pattern, its just an event.
The pattern can only be begun to be proven after the second example, but we're not there yet.
Indeed it has outdropped #30, but it has been out for only about 3 more months than 30. Besides, I never said it would be as dramatic as 30 where s.gunslinger TRIPLED, but if it even comes close, the prices will at least double. There is no point decreasing the prices NOW. People are just going to be fooled into selling s.sappers right now since they think the price will keep dropping, but when 40 gets discontinued, they are going to cry.
Yes, but people aren't suggesting price decreases because they think its best for the market or the product. Its purely about reflecting the actual market dynamic.
The idea is that people are selling them for this price now, thats whats happening, and nobody is getting fooled. Yes spreadsheets have an influence, but frankly if someone cares about holding onto it for value they will do that. Anybody who doesn't know that already won't be saved by a spreadsheet.
The point isn't to give financial advice, its just to report the price. I'll argue with some people about whether a suggestion is indeed living up to this, but your motivation for dissent seems to stem from a much more activist perspective than this site is supposed to be supporting.
Well that's funny, because if it is like what you said about "reflecting actual market dynamic", then shouldn't all the prices either go up or all go down? Why? Because people are ALWAYS buying low and selling high. Backpack.tf price also reflect the possible outcome of an item's future price, not what the market wants it NOW. Why is it that keys, buds and Bills increase in price so fast? Why is it that botkillers are going down so fast? Why all this diversity if everyone is buying low and selling high? Because of the value people think the item will become in the FUTURE, mate. Just like how more botkillers are obtained and people know that it will decrease. Just like how Bills are never going to drop and it goes up. It is not about what the market buys and sells it at, because if it is, everything will be going down since people are selling high and buying low.
Does that make sense to you, or am I being too vague?
Its simpler than you're trying to make it. The price reflected in the pricesheet is meant to be the current average range being traded RIGHT NOW. Nothing more, nothing less.
If the sheets become predictive of long term trends then they become manipulators of price, not reflectors.
It's okay, looks like you don't understand what I am saying anyway.
Well your point is a bit meandering, but in general the main theme seems to be that you think the prices should be more stable for long term value rather than reflective of current trading habits and trends.
You say:
"Backpack.tf price also reflect the possible outcome of an item's future price, not what the market wants it NOW."
I assume you mean that backpack.tf ought to reflect projected future value rather than current value. That simply isn't true. This is not only impossible to predictably value since its in the future, but its also inherently bad for the purported pricing bible to be telling people what its worth against their own trading habits.
I don't think you really understand what this pricesheet is supposed to be doing.
Why did you make your comment un-reply-able? Because you think you will lose the argument?
No. The site caps how many times you can reply to something. Eventually people just end up replying to the same comment.
If you notice, yours cannot be replied to either.
"Backpack.tf price also reflect the possible outcome of an item's future price, not what the market wants it NOW"
Oh boy
