All the proof is in the suggestion he made 2 hours ago. There is nothing wrong with what he did.

Reasons for doing this:

1. It makes voters more aware of why a price is being suggested, instead of having to browse through a different suggestion.

2. In the archives of previously accepted suggestions, we wouldn't want a suggestion linking to another suggestion.

3. Positive reinforcement: the more proof, the better.

If you actually read the comments of the previous suggestion, then you'd see he was disproved and that people were still willing to sell for 1.66 refined.

I guess the rising price makes sense. Last suggestions were from during and right after the winter crates were being opened, so the market was flooded and people were trying to quicksell.
