Why does the price increase at all on crate 30 ? Its the crate 40 that expired from drop.

Why would the price of Crate 30 go up after the retiring of Crate 40?
Crate 30 had its glory and its price raise in the past when it retired. I had this same conversation with a seller and he agreed and decided that 40 retiring shouldn't do anything to crate 30's price. It isn't like the amount of crate 30s are going down. The price should only be dictated by the amount of them in the system at the moment and as, for example, 100 are opened, then the price should go up. Etc etc. This is a giant assumption on the last part, but I would think this would make sense.
People are confused and think the retiring of crate 40 means that 30 becomes more precious and scarce. This isn't the case! There hasn't been any crate 30 drops for over a year! They are probably trying to hype others and bring the price up at any excuse.

We could analyze this even further if you desire, but I believe this would be a waste of both our time. More of a waste for me than you probably, seeing how much you're on here. I am not saying that it is a bad thing, but it just seems that you engulf yourself in trading more than the healthy amount. :P

No, I said crate 40 not dropping anymore SHOULD NOT be the reason why 30's price goes up. People hype things and get into a hyped mood and decide that prices go up. This should not even be the case. xD
One explanation is that there was a reasonably high chance that #50 would contain rereleased stranges from #30 (as they've reached very high prices), which would drive the price down. Now we know that is not the case, and we'll not have another salvaged crate for 6 months+ it may be viewed as a safer, long term investment. Akin to the increase in price of 2011 festives when the 2012 festives were released.
Disclaimer - I have quite a few #30s, just trying to explain why the price may have increased (and obviously I've thought about how their price might change :P)
crate 30 has been going up slightly for the past 2 months. there is demand there still and always will be
Remember people - when considering a price change, you need to toss logic out the window because logic pays absolutely no role in the price of an item*
*However, there have been moments where admins have closed paint suggestions because you could buy them in the store, sell them for keys, sell the keys on the market, then buy the paints again and make a profit.
It really doesnt matter if theirs a reason they clearly have increased.
You can simply say each salvage is like a milestone and people are realizing how old crate 30 is(older it gets higher the value), there are less and less crate 30s everyday because people unbox.
I had one offered to me for 24 keys and you can get them from scrap.tf for 27 keys, downvoted.

Currently a #30 sitting in scrap.tf's promo bot (bought at 29 keys) and is waiting to be sold at 30 keys. Been there for at least half an hour
i bought it and put it on the marketplace for 59€ which can buy me almost 40 cans of lime paint, i´ll tell u how it goes
