Although many don't agree with me, these things should, and WILL go up in price. The fact of the matter is, many of the contents of this crate are worth nearly as much as the crate itself at this point. More and more people are going to open the crate, and, it being discontinued, the rarity will increase. Face it people, rarity plays a HUGE role on the price. As does the level of attainability. Think about it - who REALLY buys buds for their looks on their characters? Nobody. They're bought because they're high priced. Why are they high priced? You can't get them, and there are very few of them. Another example, you ask? What about the salvaged crate #30. There's very few of them left, so their price is rising. It's a simple fact, so we might as well raise 'em now.

As you can see, as in the case of the Sapper and Huntsman, their prices are higher than the crate and RISING. People will open to get these items, and the crate will become more rare and sought after. The price should, and WILL go up.

I have 3 salvaged #40, and as much as I'd love to see them go up, there are still 20k of these in existance, and they will not rise very fast
As an owner I still not satisfied with even your pricing. These were worth 13 keys even before crate dissapearing from drop. Vast majority of owners agrees with prices being way low then it was anticapated. Its the majority of all traders, scammers, noobs , random citizen who dictates price not the owners. Putting up quicksale prices here ruined the value of salvaged items pretty badly. ( Vote to cut price --> more lowballing so on ).

Note that it is not dropping, but is merely settling after it's skyrocket from 5-6 keys.

Well knowing the past prices crate 40 just went back near to its 3 month value. Meaning there was not even a single rising in value after crate 50 arrived. The exact opposite happaned to crate 30 though prices doubled in 1 day or even more. I remember getting a gunslinger from my crate 30 sold for 7 key (actual value that time) next day it was worth like 18 keys.
This is not crate 30. There are a LOT more of these, and demand for the items in it are much lower. And the price on it was 5.5-6 keys before, so it has in fact doubled already.
It was worth 12 key in december. People continued to lowball since some of the owners bacame desperate to sell. I agree its not crate 30 and there is almost no worse item then the manntreads( almost as useless as its counter part the boomstick) but still considering it was out half year longer then the crate 30 its rightful price should be around +-20 key. Crate 30 will be supperior until valve decides to throw out the same stranges in the next gen salvaged crates. About having more of these out there are lot more players as well meaning more people can buy. On my opinion only the gunslinger is great from crate 30 . And I know that everyone wanted a strange huntsman for a long time. So its pretty popular among sniper lovers. I dont mind waiting some more for prices to rise. But I already waited half year and priced jumped down not up since then .
This seems to be where I was mistaken. Thank you for clearing it up, although I am seeing more and more people selling for 12+ (just look at outpost for a few minutes, you'll see). Thanks for clearing this up a bit, although I'm still semi-right that the prices are rising already.

I have no clue how this is 'nuff said. If you don't stick yourself on the first page, and look at the others, you'll see some people are valuing it at far more than 9. and the 9.25 was one guy selling 3 times.
What I meant is that it is TOO EASY to find BELOW this suggested price to accept this suggested price. People who understand how backpack.tf works and have been on here since day 1 (like me) know that to have have a price change you must show that the current listed price is REALLY HARD if not IMPOSSIBLE to find. That is why there needs to be a price change either up or down. Just disliking my original comment, is not looking at the big picture at all. Since http://backpack.tf/classifieds/search/5068/6/40 shows that there are over 30 crates available for under this suggested price (some SIGNIFICANTLY under at around 9-10 keys), that immediately tells us that it is not really hard or impossible to find BELOW this suggested price. This is a clear indicator that the price is not ready to change. Give it a few days. Maybe later this week it will need another update. Just not today. :)
Please do not say "will go up" because that's trying to predict the future. This site does not care for the future prices; it only cares about the present prices.
The only reason these price suggestion happens because people believe the prices are inaccurate. I mean all the predictions and wait for crate 40 to be discontinued resulted in a dissapointment at price. People bought crates for 12 key time passed ---> its worth 5 - 6 keys ---> crate 50 out its worth 10 key , be happy with it. ( all the wait for nothing). No wonder people are displeased with prices except those who want to buy they are ok with low prices.
