Yes your seeing this right im voting to bring down the price of keys.

The admins do not care about your vote, they dont care if 1000 people upvote this they will still close it. Didn't we all switch from spreadsheet to this website because we thought that this would be a better way of setting prices? Then the prices should not be up to admins weather they pass or not. Doesnt this make you just as bad as spreadsheet?

Proof of how your vote means nothing: http://backpack.tf/vote/id/51453abdba2536456c000002#51460a274bd7b85e14000028_row

I downvote such suggestions like this and that, because they show no proof of actual sales happening at the suggested price. But people like you don't understand and just WANT to get the price of the key lower (=manipulation), and that's what this site is not for.

We don't dictate prices on this site.

What is the cause for the inflation then? Idlers? They have been around for years. Steam Market? Doesn't have that big of an effect, some, but not enough. Backpack.tf if definitely part of the problem. They really should count keys in terms of $, it would solve the problem, or at least stop it from growing and make Bp $ value more accurate.

That answer/discussion is everywhere on the interwebz.

+ if you'ld put it in $, it should be TF2 store price: 2.49$

Or about 1$ more as it is now.

You realize if they only looked at votes the site would be 10000 times worse than anyone thinks it currently is. If votes were the deciding factor the site would be ran by manipulators using bots or large groups of users to sway votes in their favor.

Also, a lot of those people that upvoted did so because they want to see the price of keys go down, despite there being plenty of buyers above 4 ref flat and sufficient counter proof.

The site doesn't work SOLELY on votes. The problem is that people aren't providing ADEQUATE PROOF.

Find plenty of proof of keys going at 4, and not going at 4.11, and then it'll most likely be accepted if upvoted enough.

That being said, I've had a trade up on outpost for 4 day, trying to buy keys for 4 ref with absolutely NO takers. Based on that I'm going to have to downvote, because 4 ref flat is clearly not the price for keys all of the time (if even some of the time now).

your comment is beyond dumb keys have not raised in value yet it is worthless metal which is falling back

Yes, the admins are nothing but selfish price fixers. It has nothing at all to do with the fact that there are multiple open trades with people buying keys for 4.11...

EDIT: Also, Even if you got valid proof of selling at 4.00 and not selling at 4.11. Some jackass is gonna come along and post a link to TF2 finance.

EDIT2: Long is at -183 in his first post. Lawl.

as it is true, and im very sorry to do this, im downvoting

We switched from spreadshit so we could see why prices are what they are. These reasons include both proof and votes, but in the end, proof is more important. You have no proof here.

KEEP ON DREAMIN' KEEP KEEP ON DREAMIN'

I actually just had a pleasant conversation with some gentlemen on the forums. I received some replies basically explaining that people emotionally react to keys, so votes don't matter and only the admin decides.

So basically, most everything on backpack.tf is decided by the community. Oh yeah, except for the keys, one of TF2's most vital and debated items. Those are decided by administrators, most of which have backpacks full of keys.

I'm not pointing fingers, I'm not calling names, but this whole system seems a bit flawed.

EDIT: Vincent, I'm fully aware that you just disliked my comment, just sayin'.

LETS GET THIS SHIT STARTED. 2000 upvotes 300 downvotes still gets closed this is why everytime I get on a server especially unusual and someone brings up bp.tf they get bashed on because of the lack of precision and of the ignorance of the admins this is the site that has increased the value of keys wether you like it or not a lot of noobs also use this site for hats. Why don't you let us run the prices and you only see wether there are enough upvotes or downvotes and not decide yourselves.

This isn't a suggestion, but a complaint over another suggestion. We have forums for that kind of discussion.

If you'd actually like to suggest a price on keys, feel free to make another suggestion and argue your case. Please do not use suggestions to complain about other suggestions, the state of the economy, or backpack.tf in general.

It's ironic how people accuse this site's admins and moderators of manipulating key prices, yet lowering key prices without proof would be price manipulation.

Votes play an important part in a decision, but voters can sometimes be wrong. We try to reflect the market as best as possible. If everyone voted to make buds 1 ref, would that be an accurate representation of the market? The market has to be accurately assessed.

We have methods which we use to assess the validity of suggestions. On the previous suggestion, there was tons of counterproof by users which showed 4 ref flat is too low.

Upvoted. Even if this gets 90% positive it'll still get closed though. =(

Bring this shit up in the forums not here.
