So basically you're saying something like if someone came up and said to the world that he bought one barrel of oil for $25 then sold it for $25 we'd have to set all our oil prices to $25 per barrel?

Noooo, we can't base economies on one person's experiences. If everybody started buying and selling barrels of oil for $25 each, sure thing! That can be regarded as the regular price!

But not everybody does. Maybe this guy got lucky getting oil for $25 when everyone else is buying and selling for $93...

Point is, we can't base prices on one person's experience, and that is why you need to get proof from more than one trade.
