It might just be me being weird and not getting something but shouldn't this be priced equallly to the Strange Frying Pan?

Because the tf2 economy seems to be allergic to logic. For example people buying fezes for a key when they can be crafted for 4 ref and a wep, people paying a ton for dirty and vintage retired hats even thought they were already retired, and the strange rainblower.

Yeah, well, there aren't really all that many people buying fezes for a key, man.

Also, 4 ref and a wep is basically the value of a key now, unless you're trying to sell keys. It's only worth more than 4 ref to the people who sell them on TF2outpost.

Whoops I think I just made a post talking about something entirely off-topic. My bad.

I think most people who are going for profit will start keeping grease, which will lead to the price dropping alongside the pan. I've seen some trades that sold at a bud and people have advertised grease/pans below a bud when they're trying to quick sell them. This price seems reasonable.

logic would dictate yes, but backpack is just recording what the market is offering for the grease itself. Who know why people pay more for the grease, maybe they want to make the strange pan themselves. Untill further proof is available I cant upvote this.

        It's a collector's item.

The grease is rarer due to the fact you make pans out of grease, and not vise versa

Adding to what other people have said, the strange grease should be more valuable than the strange pan along the same reasoning that the Portal 2 Soundtrack box is more valuable than the Ap-Sapper (or it should be that way), or the Sandvich Box is worth more than the Robo-Sandvich. The Strange Grease says "Yes, I could have a strange pan, if I wanted to, but I don't." Whereas the Strange Pan says "I have a strange pan, and at some point in its life somebody chose to apply strange grease to it, but I may not have been the one who originally did that."

I dunno, it's sort of a psychological thing.

Proof is valid, so it's an upvote from me.
