Voting doesn't matter the admins look at the proof and make the decision. Removing yourself from the scenario entirely doesn't really change things either. If the paypal cash dried up that would probably change things drastically but even then I can't imagine how much it would help metal.

My point is that it will stop INFLATION, the price won't go any higher - we can never fix the damage Outpost and Bp.tf and MArketplace have done, but we can stop it from getting any worse before the entire economy crashes

The thing is metal isn't regulated and keys are. If there is some sort of "crash" keys would be the safest place to be unless you mean that everyone left the game entirely.. then it would be dead I guess.

Not going to happen. Keys are the most versatile item in the game. Even if people stopped buying altogether, there are still other options to fall back on.

The most effective thing that could be done that comes to mind, is to get the community to stop trading with people who don't play the game or are only in it for profit. Easier said than done.

Scrap.tf didn't have keys in stock, they usually don't when I check stock, and besides that, I just needed keys. I don't want to spend hours on TF2OP or trade servers, just needed some keys.

- Persons love the suggester because he is doing a "good thing" for the economy.

- TF2 finance does not count as counterproof, although it is showing the average keyprice.

- 10 links of proof are enough to accept a keysuggestion. (Mind of voters)

- Persons who want that the price drops will upvote, no matter how bad the proof is.

- Admins/Mods will close the suggestion, because the proof is bad and nearly all upvotes are based on opinion.

Raising the price:

- Persons hate the suggester because he is doing a "bad thing" for the economy.

- TF2 finance does not count as proof, because it's showing the average sellingprice.

- 60 links of proof are still not enough to accept the a keysuggestion. (Mind of voters)

- Persons who don't want that the price rises will downvote, no matter how good the proof is.

Other facts:

- backpack.tf is not manipulating the prices, the buyers who want that the price drops are manipulating it.

- Downvotes on higher prices do not count anymore, most of them are based on the opnion of mad people.

- The market won't crash till Valve does something with keys and/or metal.

- While Keys are increasing in Refprice, Ref is decreasing in USD price. The argument that the suggester is doing the suggestion for his own benefit is irrelevant. Profit = 0.

- Persons who support a suggestion which is raising the keyprice will be downvoted, even if their arguments and/or lists of facts are good and true.

- Persons who are against a suggestion which is raising the keyprice will be upvoted, even if their arguments and/or lists of facts are bad and false.

- Votes are supposed to be made according to the market, not personal preference.

- What does the market tell about keys? Keys are rising. ||| What do people want? Keys dropping.

Answer for the question: Why is Ref dropping?

Factor 1: Key-USD = Stable

Factor 2: Key-Ref = Unstable / Keys rising

Factor 3: Ref-USD = Unstable / Ref droping

If the price of Keys is stable between 1.25-1.40 USD, and the amount of Ref you need for a single Key is increasing, then the price of Ref in USD is decreasing.

The price of ref is dropping to sum everything up. If it doesn't fall we would have a big hole where everybody could make a ton of profit with RL-money.

Just remember of the price of $0.45 per Ref. 5 x 0.45 = 2.25 USD! That's why the price of Ref in USD is decreasing.

Sidenote: If one of the factors above isn't stable the keyprice in Ref would be rising or dropping.

Key's aren't rising in price, maybe in short, very short intervals, but not at the rate they're rising. You are using outpost as 100% proof, when in reality there are other factors, such as: the market and sourceOP.

In both cases, keys are shortly lowering in price.

When you raise the price, people SELL for that price since they aren't going to sell under the price, that's illogical.

Since they're still cheaper than buying from the mann co, buying for these inflated prices still is optimal.

People like to blither on that "metal is dropping in price", yet the only thing going up in value is keys. There are 3 tiers of currency, metal, keys and buds.

Despite this, only keys are actually changing in price. You really can't fix this, the backpack.tf train is already full speed, tearing through the economy.

It's fine though, since sourceOP doesn't really take this site seriously (as should no one), nothing's really changing in price.

SorceOP currently buys refined for $.35 and keys for $1.28 (average), which is 3.66 refined on average.

Going back to last year (April 2012), keys were going for average $1.40, with metal going for about $.4, keys going for 3.5. In a year they went up one scrap, but on backpack.tf every 3 days they go up a scrap.

In all reality all these shitty price increments are doing is hurting the price of metal, no one really takes these suggestions seriously except people buying with metal.

I remember that I didn't play TF2 from the end of August to the end of December. I had 2.33 sitting in my backpack and saw a trade of outpost selling a cool new item for a key. I thought: "Wow, If I had a key....wait, I have some metal, I could trade it for a key! The key price is 2.33, isn't it?" I checked the spreadsheet...and I saw: "Mann Co. Supply Crate Key-3.66 ref"

Could have at least posted some of your own proof, and your 4.33 links are all invalid, the 4.22 flat suggestion deserves to be accepted, not yours.

Hope that someday the price of keys will fall a lot and all those who store hundreads of keys will lose a lot of value...

For now i just cant trust the keys and im trying to get some expensive items and metal in the key place.

You guys realize that if this goes through, he will make 172 scrap. That is 19.1 ref or 4.4 keys that he will just get out of thin air. I don't really agree with that.

Sellers' greed has no limits so does quickbuyers' stupidity. Keys will not stop rising.

As mentioned, two of your buying for 4.33 are actually for 3.33. The third is a bit of an assumption. They don't have notes, while people don't always put up the exact metal they intend to buy with. Trade's been unbumped for a long while, hasn't responded to the person asking for clarification on what they're buying at, has a grand total of one other outpost trade in their history, and a private profile to boot.

Tf2finance has been hovering around 4.22. That would indicate an average of 4.22, not a low end. This suggested price would put the average at 4.28.

The high end is unsupported here.
