All proof from sourceOP, all bumped within the last 2 weeks. Only paypal sellers included even though bitcoin sellers sell for even less.

So as you can see there are lot's of sellers in the $0.32 - 0.35 range. Many sales taking place at this range as evidenced by the active bumping leading to sell outs.
I'm not going to respond to any comments since typically currency comments are flooded with trolls. Happy voting!
Nice proof. :)
Prices go down. Keys rise.
This is a loop we can't escape.
What the fuck your bold with (XXX in stock) means? There always will be stock, otherwise trades not bumped.
Because last time ppl cried about the stock levels and who was "serious" and who wasn't.
I dont thin this is a good idea, cause if this price goes down, keys will only rise, and, like I saw on tf2outpsost, a guy's opinion about that a key will be worth more than 6 refined, will be true. Dont know the link, Im sorry.
adding to that, I think, the priceshould rise, cause I was able to sell a vintage stockbrokers scarf for 0,50€ . It is worth 1 refined, so the price should go up to 0,50€ :)
(Sorry for my bad english)
In my humble opinion, a mod waiting a week for 'proof' like this doesn't help anybody when trying to determine the correct price of items on this guide.
I made this [1] previous suggestion one week ago, which got turned down for lack of 'proof'. The proof is in the conversion of refined to keys -- the only thing which reliably sells for money. I'd really hope to see this 'proof' opinion for refined change, instead of waiting for sellers to 'fix' their prices in order to show an accurate price.
I've said it all and this will be my last post on refined metal suggestions.

I know i said i wasn't going to respond, but i wanted to address this. I tried to pass suggestions in the past using similar logic to your suggestion.

http://backpack.tf/vote/id/5109f57aba2536ff5f000002
The reality is that your suggestion is 100% correct in order to accurately price items with the correct dollar amount, unfortunately the general community does not understand how this website is programmed and the effect massively incorrect key and bud USD prices screw everything up. Eventually I quit trying to educate ppl b/c it's a pointless endeavor. The primary currency should be keys or buds b/c they have a far more stable USD value. Until the website opens up cash voting on keys and buds the system is going to be broken in terms of unusual pricing and backpack values. We have started a couple suggestion topics here:
http://forums.backpack.tf/index.php?/topic/30-allow-voting-on-bud-prices-in-usd/
http://forums.backpack.tf/index.php?/topic/448-bptf-base-currency-change-suggestion-to-key-bud-prices-key-suggestions/
All we can do is continue to prod Brad in hopes that he reprograms the system. Until then we are stuck with correcting ref using this method. :(
Can you show what buyers are trying to pay? and if any are succesful
Most cash ppl don't deal with buying ref, they buy keys and buds then convert if they want to sell ref.
They bulk buy keys for like $1.20, sell it for 4.33 ref = $0.27/ref. Then sell the ref for a profit. I don't believe many ppl buy and resell refined like they do keys unless they buy a big bulk for cheap from big time idlers.
I have posted that kind of information before but most ppl ignore it. Very hard to see successful trades on SOP b/c ppl just add or PM the trades.
Risking to buy carded keys and try to sell them in a very low volume refined market?
That may make sense in theory but believe me,no one does that and it isnt profitable at all.
First of all you risk buying stolen cc (carded) keys and get trade banned forever, second of all its almost impossible to sell any refined at all in the normal market.
Almost all of refined selling goes through cash shops now, like http://tf2shop.net ,where thousands of ref is sold @ 0.49$ each, which is 0.42$ each if you consider people pay %15 more for premium service.
"Almost all of refined selling goes through cash shops now, like http://tf2shop.net ,where thousands of ref is sold @ 0.49$ each, which is 0.42$ each if you consider people pay %15 more for premium service."
I'd like proof of that statement. I guarantee the majority of sales goes through sourceOP, outpost and other countries trade sites like teamfortress.ru
My opinion
Keys are going up while metals are going down, even in tf2 warehouse they changed the price of a ref to 2910c which is pretty low if you trade at that website. Tf2 economy is beginning to become like America's economy so might as well go with the flow. Agree with the price being lowered
I am sorry to say that but your proof is sloppy man.You need better & way more proof then that to change a key commodity of the game. Here's the counter-proof.
I also suggest you to not believe everything you read and research sellers and reliability of their supply. If someone says he has 160 stock and he has 11 ref,and he last bumped his thread 8 days ago, this can't be used as proof.
Also if paypal is involved and buyers are asked to pay the fees, you should consider fees in your proof since every buyer considers them before buying.
$0.34
http://forums.sourceop.com/threads/140019-Refined-Metal-0-34-each-PP?highlight=ref+refined / out of stock, proofs nothing else then price is more then 0.34$ each.
http://forums.sourceop.com/threads/136259-Refs-0-34-each!-100-Left-0-Keys-1-38-ea-PayPal-amp-BitCoins?highlight=ref+refined / Buyer pays fees,if you know how paypal works, this is more expensive than 0.35$ each.
http://forums.sourceop.com/threads/139082-ToD-Tickets-0-74%C2%A2-Refined-0-34%C2%A2-Craft-Hats-0-47%C2%A2-Bp-Expander-3-75-(NO-REP-IS-OK)?highlight=ref+refined / Buyer pays fees,if you know how paypal works, this is more expensive than 0.35$ each.
http://forums.sourceop.com/threads/137729-Refined-Metal-and-Craft-Hats?highlight=ref+refined / 100+ = 0.34$ yet he has ONLY 11 ref.That means he's selling for 0.35$ which is the range right now.
http://forums.sourceop.com/threads/116241-Keys(x-0)-1-33-each-Ref(x-0)-0-34-each-1-Collection?highlight=ref+refined / Out of stock, only proves range is higher then 0.34$
$0.33
http://forums.sourceop.com/threads/140086-Selling-21-Refined-for-7-(-0-33-each)?highlight=ref+refined / They are gone already. It's so cheap i was going to buy if it wasnt sold already
http://forums.sourceop.com/threads/106181-refs-0-33-keys-1-25?highlight=ref+refined / Buyer pays fees, which makes it $0.35 again. Also he probably changed his prices a thousand times,so 1k+ sold info indicated nothing.
$0.32
http://forums.sourceop.com/threads/139653-0-KEYS-1-34!-35-REF-0-32!-Any-amount-any-rep-level!-(7-pages-of-rep!)?highlight=ref+refined / Not even a decent thread.Indicates nothing.
http://forums.sourceop.com/threads/139556-Ref-0-32 / You say 160+ in stock, hes topic says 160+ in stock, but he has 7 ref and hes topic was last bumped 8 days ago,and hes not selling at the moment.
Well done my good man. You make me proud.
Nice counter-proof!
Well said, well said. Thanks for taking the time to go through all that.
Um, I think you are thinking about it the wrong way. Here are some counter arguments:
-First, they might keep their stock in an alt. Many cash traders will do this to limit their losses against hijackers. Not to mention the mega idlers that have refined spread across a bunch of accounts.
-Second, the $0.32 guy opened that trade on the 21st with 164 ref. As of right now, yes it appears to have 6 ref. Is that not proof of sale of 158 ref between the 21st and today?
-Third, the buyer nearly always pays the fees and the majority of the time the fees are nothing as long as your aren't trading across borders. In the example you pointed out above the seller lives in the US so there are no fees for US buyers.
-Fourth, sellers sitting on stock with a price equal to or higher than the posted range is not a proof of sale. If anything, the fact they have metal in stock indicates that is indeed the upper end of the range b/c buyers aren't pursuing those prices.
1. Alt doesn't matter when siting as proof
2 The bump is important. How many people would search multi pages to find
at 1 - 2 pennies less. The other one could be that a reseller bought stock but he would sell higher so not acceptable as proof.
3. But still is part of price for proof
4. Possible
>they might
Perfect proof. Upvote.
-First,if you have stock on an alt,you do not wait 8 days,to bump your thread.
-Second,exactly my point.Even with the fees, which makes his price way expensive then current range (Paypal takes 0.20$ + %4.95 generally),his stock still got sold.It like saying,Wow,someone just sold 100 buds for 10 keys.We should change price to that.
-Thierf,No fees for US Buyers? What,do you think that game orbits around US buyers? There are at least 10x european players in TF2,which that will conflict with your proof %90 of the makes, hence making it useless.
-Forth,that is not the case in here,so it wasnt helpfull to your argument,at all.
And also the fact that you had to go back in your search to find 8 days old bumped threads by itself proves how poor your suggestion is.
Of course the market isn't us centric. However you generally don't pay fees when paying within north America. I don't know the intra-fee situation for other continents. My point is more that traders try to avoid fees. Fees are irrelevant b/c that is an individual trader issue. I never have to pay fees and i avoid traders from other counties so that i don't have to pay fees.
As far as the bumping and stuff, there's not much to be said about that. source is not an active site like outpost ppl don't bump unless they are online and think about it. Anything bumped in the last 2 weeks is recent imo. Obviously ppl have been buying for this range.
Have a good one I'm done addressing your comments we obviously have different opinions about this. It's up to the voters and the admins to decide.
"Anything bumped in the last 2 weeks is recent imo."
For me that by itself indicates you dont have enough cash trade experience to make that kind of suggestion.
If you are trying to shift a sensitive commodity of game by 3 cents, fee's are important and certainly not irrelevant.
Anyhow,we both made our points.I rest my case as its and leave rest to voters and admins as well.
Puhleeeze. Keep the ignorant insults to yourself. I primarily cash trade and have been doing for the last 6 months. I have 4+ pages of SOP rep and have been cash trading since June of last year. Why don't you chk someone out before you start slandering? Poor form man.
Oh and now I see why you are so concerned, it's b/c YOU sell ref for $0.49
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/6160350 might be a little biased? lol.
I wish I looked at this earlier I wouldn't have put energy into responding to you. Have a good one man, obviously the cash price here makes no difference to you if you successfully sell for that highball price so I really don't see why you care, but w/e. Peace out
good counterproof
This is bullshit, the lower end of your price range is too low. Downvote!
hue
got any counterproof?
he has sellers at 0.32
seems to me that refined down has no naysayers
while key has too much
He's just mad.
Confused on why metal is so expensive.
$0.35(metal price) x4 = $1.40 + $0.11 = $1.51 (This will give you 4.33 in metal)
I searched outpost for keys and found this
$1.25(low price..not counting quicksell), $1.35(middle key price), $1.50(high price)
So if you really need metal, it's cheaper just to pay the cash for the keys and sell for refined.
So I will so voteup your suggestion
link 2 sold out for $0.35, more proof of $0.32?
http://forums.sourceop.com/threads/140220-20-ref-for-0-31-each-(total-6-2-)
sold out really fast
*rumble* *rumble* bla bla trade trade prices prices dollars dollars ref ref ahaha
You might not take everything here as seriously as we do, but to help you understand, we see your above comment as:
*rustling jimmies* *rustle* bla bla spam poor kid gibus untradables money-apparently-isn't-important scrap scrap ehuehue
He MEANT what he SAID, *rumble* *rumble*
there are probably plenty of reasons for saying yes to this but looking at the bigger picture its dam bad. no one will be able to afford keys soon. ref price dropping massively. keys rising massively. grim days for tf2 ahead.....
so, they will be 5 ref soon, ugh, thank god im done with trading, can't wait for this market to crash.
just to made you know, if bitcoins sellers are selling cheap is because since the last 30days bitcoins value have doubled, and many guys think they are going to go higher that why they don't mind about selling metal a bit cheaper.
That's part of the reason. the primary reason is the security that btc can not be charged back.
My, MY! So "edgy".
Its sad because I am up-voting as this has clear proof which supports it but we must now prepare for the continued over inflation of keys. The TF2 economy is currently under attack by violent price changes which is going to produce a very different, very difficult economy to that of 2011/early 2012 which seemed to be reasonably stable.
yep its sad
downtown...
http://forums.sourceop.com/threads/138795-Buds-34-Ref-0-33-Keys-1-30-you-pay-fees[b] $.33 each IN STOCK Bumped today
Wow, hard to find solid proof, everything is either old/ out of stock/overpriced.
The proof you listed is very thin and sold quite quickly, perhaps a slighter bump down.
