Price has never been voted on. Most recently sold for 6.5-7 pure as part of a set. Low end based on other sales in the last month.
7 pure? - http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8933654 - 14 pure for the set (veil is worth about 6.75?)
6 in items - http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8813833 - unclear what it sold for but rejected 5.5 in unusuals, 6 in items (self-made key)
5.2 in unusuals - http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8811715 (beams+1 buds for burning)
Conclusion: Setting low range of 4.8 (for that 5.2 in unusuals sale). High end based on the 14 pure sale, calculated as 14 - 7.5 (high end of veil) = 6.5 (for high end of belt). Interestingly, the buyer was even willing to pay 16-21 pure.
I'd say 6 as a top range is much better, sets like that have a way of being worth more than their parts.
That's just good marketing. And, honestly, the veil may be overvalued since 1 recently sold for 5.5 pure - http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/9804806
14-5.5=8.5? Count 2 pure as overpay for the set and you STILL get 6.5 pure on the belt alone.
Was considering if that might be an outlier, but he did get excellent non-pure offers on the set and there is another documented offer of a self-made key (is it really 6.5-7?) on a different trade for the belt alone.
In any case, I can accept that this is a wide range, which is not ideal. But it's certainly more accurate than the current range which is based on... nothing.
